Red Letter Media Talks About the Munsters Trailer For Some Reason

Rob Zombie's Munsters trailer took the world by storm! It's sure to be the biggest hit since Morbius and as such, Mike and Jay took some time during their most recent Half in the Bag shoot to discuss it with a level of depth and thoughtfulness that only a trailer for a 2022 Munsters re-boot deserves.

I liked that they did the early 30s Universal logo...

The only Rob Zombie movie that I find even halfway tolerable is "The Lords of Salem"... that one gave me the impression he would progress as a filmmaker and broaden his horizon. "31" then took that impression away... that one was just pure amateur hour at the movies and unwatchable. I haven't bothered with "Three From Hell" afterwards anymore... I do find this a pity, his music is actually not too bad and I in every interview I've seen with him Zombie always comes across as smart and very likable... :(

Did anyone stop to think that maybe Zombie didn’t want to release a trailer yet for this project but Universal or whoever MADE him so he’s kinda like trolling us with this and maybe closer to when it’s to be released will hit us with a better trailer? 🤔 regardless, I love the Munsters tv show, I like Rob Zombie as a musician and he seems like a nice guy, so kudos to him.

I like to imagine that Rich Evans is off screen playing the jazz sax bgm

I think Rob Zombie has good taste in movies, based on when he used to host TCM Underground... but he is one of the worst filmmakers out there. His movies are never fun to watch and just excruciating to get through. He should be kept far away from any intellectual property.

The original Munsters had a wonderful self awareness, or 'meta' as the kids call it nowadays.

Joe Triscari

I think that slow version of the music in the trailers is still there. I recall seeing it recently with Fur Elise in Netflix’s Love, Death and Robots.

James Van Sickle

Felt like I was being trolled by Rob Zombie when I first watched it. Takeaway: Trailer house companies should not edit films (i.e. Suicide Squad); directors should not make trailers.

Michael McClain

Haven't seen the trailer or RLE's take... in my head: 'maybe this will be so weird... that it is actually entertaining.' Okay, off to have that hope dashed!

Bill Wilson

It's finally here, the long awaited feature length movie adaptation of "The Munsters"! Oh no wait, it's just the trailer. Oh no. Oh no no no... Shut it off, can we push it to January?

DonMac

I think the best way to make money from a Rob Zombie movie is charge just $1 to go in but then charge $15 to walk out of it early.

Did Universal get the name "1440" from "Entertainment 720" of Parks and Recreation fame? But they wanted it to be... twice as good? They'll go around the world 4 times for their clients, obvs.

Eric

I was also unable to stop thinking about this. My dude is pointing the camera at his lights.

Maybe Mike was actually thinking of the trailer for The Gallows (2015), a forgettable teen jump scare feature that used a slowed down “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in the trailer. https://youtu.be/F_8OKImO2pc

I don't know, I'm still not over the fact that Chips was a flop. A bit too soon to think about the Munsters trailer...

Did Rob Zombie secretly direct Verotika?

The Cult of the Wyrm

I'm so used to seeing the Munsters in black & white they look weird to me in colour.

Mike and Jay are one of the few youtubers I'll watch riff about a trailer. They always pick up on those small details I miss.

what are we doing here indeed Mike

I wish Rob Zombie would make a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, according to his life-long dream. Do that instead of making movies in different franchises that all feel like a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie!
