The Nightmare on Elm Street Series - re:View (Part 2)

We're baaaaack! This time, Mike and Jay discuss Nightmare on Elm Streets 5-7. 7 aka New Nightmare, a movie that's pretty good until Freddy turns into a Halloween store rubber demon mask that's eyeballs pop out. Finally! Hope they address that new Netflix series. I had to use two VPNs, but I just finished it

Yesterday was my birthday, this is the best present I could have asked for even if it is a little late

This.... is God

Mike's nightmare would be him rapidly ageing and being forced to do a workout dance by a cackling Rich Evans instructor.

Cody Hall

What is that Freddy Krueger beer bottle on the table? Or is that Ranger?

Sean McCarty

I am very disappointed that Mike has not mentioned or made a comparison to Star Trek Voyagers' Season 4 episode 13 'Waking Moments'. Captain Janeway and her crew are subject to a hostile Alien race that can invade their dreams. Ensign Kim dreams he kisses Seven and then opens his eyes to reveal Seven is an Alien smiling back at him. =D

This two-parter really hit the spot, thank you.

That headshot from part 2 appears multiple times, in the dream scenes I think, which makes it even more disconcerting, like there is some sort of special meaning to it.

Does anyone know if that 'you weren't always an only child' line is used in any release of the film? I swear I've heard it before, and I don't think I've seen the behind the scenes footage ever

At 43:53 Fran Bennett actually IS in Star Trek! Fleet Admiral Shanthi in the TNG episode "Redemption II"

AllGoodNamesRGone

Perfect ending bringing up the remake and then credits. Pretty much how I feel about the remake as well.

When New nightmare came out, I was working at a haunted house, and after work, we went to the midnight show, many of us deal with remnants of make up in pieces of her costume on. The girl in the ticket booth looked at as for about 10 seconds, and said “do you guys work if that haunted house down the road?” We responded in the affirmative, “oh, thank God” we also saw Stargate and probably a few more over the 6 weeks

Silentphil9

I'm just glad they mentioned 'the bastard son of a 100 maniacs.'

Two Hats!! LoL fucking great’.

I enjoyed the first couple of Freddy films when I was a kid, then they became a bit schlocky, and/or, I grew up. I thought New Nightmare was a great idea, and a great movie, till it turned into the same old Freddy nonsense with stretchy Freddy arms and all that stupid ol' @$%#! Thanks for re-watching these so that I don't have to, bitch!

Apex Predator

With all y’all’s movie ideas I think it’s time for a go at it. Jay it’s time to remake Hack-O-Lantern.

TETSUO!!!

Can we get a re:View of “Legend”?

Seano O'Reilly

Any chance you can edit max Landis out of the double down episode? 😕 broke my heart how much that guy ruined that episode

I'm trying to think if any of the kids from the first three films had siblings. I feel like Alice was the first character to actually have a sibling in the franchise. I've also made it my head canon that the kids that are all dressed in white and singing the Freddy nursery rhyme are the older siblings of the first three films' victims.

Lowell Bartholomee

Let's hear it for all the headshots that make it into movies. Like Laurie Strode's daughter holding onto that one picture she happened to have taken wearing the outfit she wore to school the day Michael Myers came back to town in HALLOWEEN 4.

Billy Thompson

I too would watch "Springwood" on Netflix. Hell yea.

Spider-Ham

More Freddy impressions please! Supportive Freddy needs his own show!!

Manuel Johnen

As with "Pet Sematary" they're wrong when it comes to the 2010 remake, I still think that one is pretty terrific and better than all of the sequels except "New Nightmare"...

Michael Matzat

Can’t wait for that Netflix show to hit this year. 🙌🏻
