A new Best of the Worst should be done in the next couple of days but in the meantime, here's an amazing screenshot from one of the movies we watched! Can YOU make out what's happening? It is definitely the worst VHS transfer we've ever seen in terms of how dark the image was. We had to boost the exposure for the edit.

The second image is a couple of movies that are mention and recommended in our discussion in comparison to the movie we actually watched. No idea if that will help with guesses as to the movie we watched, but you can always give it a shot! Another hint: the movie we watched has never been released on any format past VHS.

"...movies that are mention and recommend in our discussion" Who's doing the QC on these posts!? :P

sammydowntheblock

At first I thought my phone messed up. That's terribly dark lol

Peter Varga

the movie must be "The Siege Caller"

Matthew Dolley

The dark image looks like a social gathering on a rooftop in the city. Can't wait for this episode.

Karin M

I thought that was a picture of space at first

dirtside

The dark image is clearly the inside of a container of peanut brittle.

Bill Wilson

If Partners guy was an AI, that's the type of material it would have trained on.

Alex DeRaedt

every single image has so few things going on

Bill Lehecka

Never thought you’d watch Game of Thrones on a BotW…

Wesley

The yellow sweater that Rich Evans is wearing looks great on him. Is there simply no role that he cannot adapt to?

Kept hearing good things about The Caller after Vinegar Syndrome released it. Turned out to be a huge dud for me. But Siege was awesome and highly recommend it.

John Kott

I'm going to spend the rest of the weekend trying to figure this out.

Nada Leona Sheppard

It looks like a bunch of candlelight in a dark room, so I'm gonna guess a seance. On another note, it looks like you watched a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys crossover, there, with "Seige".

Minimag

I love The Siege. That movie is very underrated.

Andrew Stickman

This is like a crazy Rorschach test because I see a guitarist in the middle of the night club

Everything Important

Looks like a VGA screen shot from an old point and click PC game from the 90’s… makes me wanna go rewatch Rich & Jack’s Police Quest episodes from Previously Recorded.

tigerjeb

that first image is when you imagine yourself stanley kubrick but dont have anywhere near the hyperfast lenses to shoot in candlelight

The Real Zam

Is that a Klingon in the middle of the frame? It looks like a Klingon on his way to Stovokor.

Jermania

What an awesome and inspiring picture of outer space. Makes you realize how tiny we all are.

Jaap van Muijden

Siege looks like it's based on those two boomers who pulled out guns when a BLM march came by their house a few years ago.

Manuel Johnen

"The Caller" is weird, but not bad, actually...

Tony P.

I see a Dark City knockoff starring Slade Craven. Hawk Coleslaw and Mama Bigfoot.

Marvin Falz

1st image: my guess the screenshot is from a dystopian sci-fi movie where they do weird ancient rituals in a technocratic society, kind of like in Logan's Run.

Cruz Rivera

Still a bit brighter than Solo.

Brian E. Lindstrand

Semi-serious question. Is this due to the age and wear of the tape? From what I can remember of my video rental days, there were some bad looking recordings, but nothing like that.

DonMac

"The Siege (Self Defense)" and "The Caller" - a couple of '80s genre movies - so by the reliable rule that every '80s genre movie is a must-see, I will definitely see these.

Deckard Cain

I'm 99% sure that's The Humungus from The Road Warrior in the middle of the frame. Since it was already confirmed to be set on a NY rooftop, I am guessing we have a little known Mad Max spinoff in which The Humungus survives his collision with Max and travels to post-apocalyptic New York to seek love.

Frazzled Doo

Do any of them go into more detail on’ Gauging eyes?..
