Best of the Worst: Back in Action vs. Enemy Territory

OMG it's Best of the Worst! This time it's Canada vs. the US as we pit two action movies that look very similar on the surface against each other to see which country did it better! Rowdy Roddy Pipper and Billy Blanks star in Back in Action! The touching story of Billy Blanks turning into a raging psychopath at the idea that his little sister is out there somewhere living her own life. Then there's Enemy Territory, a John Carpenter-esque siege movie about an insurance nerd being trapped in a low end apartment building and running down the same hallway over and over and teaming up with Ray Parker Jr aka the guy who did the Ghostbusters theme song. Shablam!

Since I've been in and out of the hospital recently, I'm actually going to say something sincere for once: Thanks for all that cash you donated to the Wisconsin Humane Society and St. Jude's. Though St. Jude's has been treating kids with cancer for decades, so, like, what are they doing? Are they giving kids more cancer? Because if that's it, I don't think we should keep giving them money. OK, sorry, I said this would be a sincere comment. Plus, as Archer famously said, "little kids get cancer" (Krieger: "aww, they do...). You want ants? That's how you get ants! Seriously, thanks for that awesome stunt you pulled with Nukie. It warms my heart thinking of all the animals that will have shelter and all the little kids with cancer who will get treatment because of it. My only wish now is that the person who bought the tape sends it back to you in a nondescript brown box marked "endless trash" a couple of months hence, allowing you to continue an infinite cycle of auctioning off Nukie, giving the money to charity, and then having the tape returned to you in increasingly insulting and vaguely creepy ways.

This Best of the Worst feels pretty wholesome. Billy Blanks in the one close-up where he's looking almost into the camera and where he looks like he's about to melt, reminded me of Thriller, when Michael Jackson has lead his girlfriend to the graveyard and suddenly starts to transform into a werewolf.

another great movie with few sets and actors I enjoy is "the man from earth". but it's a little different from normal rlm stuffm but if you enjoyed the caller, you might like the man from earth

Nice edit at the ending. I love it when you create a story out of different movies and your reactions to them. That ending is one reason why the episode feels wholesome. Relatively wholesome. :-)

I had a thought -- maybe as a Christmas episode or on Plinketto or something, you should do a bunch of the movies you were going to watch that didn't work for some reason -- Dr Butcher MD, Ankle Biters, Max Magician and the Legend of the Rings, etc-- and see if they were everything you imagined.

Oh god. I’ve actually seen a Best of the Worst movie on film in a theater this decade. I saw Enemy Territory at the Music Box Theater back in 2021. Looked much better than the vhs transfer.

I am so confused why this video is not getting the usual views (for a BotW). Is it just because there was a longer than usual delay between videos? Did everyone hate the cartoon and jump ship? Did we declare war on Canada and I missed it? Did Rich Evans finally hit the wall and his sex appeal has worn off? Or is it Jay growing his hippy hair back? Speculation abounds!
