Not gonna lie; I like V3 quite a bit. The staff and scythe feel better, and I like the flames from the first one. Plus, after flipping the flames and putting the circle in the middle, it looks like an eye, which I think works well for Kal even if the colors are off. I know this flag breaks a few of the "Rules for a good flag," but I like it and i hope you do as well

As I work on Ch. 42, I appear to have run into a problem, and it's a problem I have alluded to repeatedly in recent chapters.

Kal needs a symbol, a crest, a flag that represents who he is and what he stands for.

In 41, he and Scarlet (actually Ratt in Ch 40, oops) came up with what I felt were some solid ideas, but I'm curious about your thoughts on the subject.

The image in Kal's head at the end of that conversation was something like this.

The broken collar for his stance against slavery and those he rescued from it, coupled with the swirling blue flames symbolizing his magic. I tried to pull the colors from his eyes and cloak in this picture.

These are just my thoughts and ideas, but as the saying goes, sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees, and I worry that there is something I have missed about his character that needs to be symbolized on his flag as well (or instead of).

JediKahn commented in the last post that it should have something to do with Monster Girls and possibly Prentas's Tower. While I understand the correlation to the tower, I don't think it's so important to who he is as to have it on his flag. Although if he does a typical four-part crest, it could pop up on it, but I think Felli's Peak would be better suited with the eventual town he plans on putting up there, maybe both. At this point, who knows? Obviously, I don't. I'm just trying to figure this out too.

As for Monster Girls? I don't disagree with how they are a large part of his life, but I'm honestly at a loss as to how I could represent them on a flag or crest.

And So! I'm asking for your input.

Do you love or hate the design of flag above? Have I missed something important? Should something else be on it instead? Do the colors suck?

Good or bad, let me know your thoughts!

On a final note, in Ch 42, Kal will finally be choosing a surname (Last name, for those who might not know what that is. It's not a term commonly used in the U.S.) It probably won't surprise anyone, so try not to be too disappointed. On the other hand, the imagery used leading up to his choice will hopefully elicit a few "Fuck yeah! I like that!"s.

In art news, I haven't heard much from Bun lately, and at this point, I'm hoping she's okay. However, I am going to get another page rolling on the comic front.

I will be doing a poll in the near future concerning the potential name change for Monster Girls in the story. On that note, if you have any suggestions you might want on the poll, throw those at me as well.

LTS folders will be getting refreshed in a few days, so keep a lookout for those.

I think that's all I have at the moment.
