I love gossip girl but season 1 isn’t my favorite lol. I’m excited about season 2 & 3. Those are my favorite

Blair telling Dan "don't worry virgin" I'll talk you through it when they were trying to scheme Georgina had me cackling, I know Blair was shook when Dan called her at first xD "Haven't you heard? I'm the crazy bitch around here" GET HER ASS B!! Vanessa gagging Blair at the table but then Blair came back with "he never got over Serena, but you know all about liking someone that loves Serena" like don't try to play in Blair's face, as much as I like this version of Vanessa when she's not thirsting over Dan. I do think that Vanessa broke up with Nate because of Blair's comment about him never getting over Serena. And Chuck (who I never liked nor will like) pissed me off with getting scared of committing to Blair after his dad's speech I can't wait for you to get into the next few seasons, I feel like the next two are their best

dan always pisses me off with this breakup because like... again we're watching this show for who the characters are, not morality (which is why I also LOVE chuck and blair, the epitome of angsty toxic slowburn and one of the most iconic ships of the show) but what gets me is exactly what Serena says like they're exactly where they were in the second episode after the brunch, she's not who he thought she was and he can't accept that - and people who breakup with someone when they knew what they sigend up for and blame it on that person when it's not something that person can change piss me the fuck off. AND he literally proved her right? she lied because she didn't trust that he'd understand, but she also thought he was better than he is because he has such a high "moral standard", yet when he found out he wasn't understanding of how much she was going through, he believed the worst in her, and he immediately effectively hopped into bed with someone serena had explictly said she didn't trust and who had just admitted to lying (sarah to georgina)... like dan can fuck right off in this breakup for me, or at least admit "you were right I can't handle it I'm sorry"

also like the amount of shit serena was going through?! she watched someone od after giving them their last line, lost all her friends, just got back from 6 months away her brother attempting suicide... she's 16. and dan can't deal with her only trusting her lifelong friends with that and trying to protect him from it and herself from having to let him see parts of her past? idk. dan is just so ridiculously not understanding in my opinion, he has every right to walk away i get if it was too much but also... don't say "I am the most understanding" like no boo chuck, nate, and blair were more there for her than you despite the lies she told them and everything she's done to them!

in chuck's defense, his dad is ridiculous for putting that much pressure on a 16 year old (who he fucking raised to be the way he is for the record, sorry but we forget that chuck is still a teenage boy) who is just starting to grow and reform? no fair, the easiest way to get someone to relapse or fail, it was a dick move in my opinion.
