The Reelist Handbook: Everything You Need to Know (Patreon)

Welcome, Reelists! 💕 Whether you’re brand new or you’ve been here forever, this post is your home base for how everything works around here.

I’ll keep this post updated whenever anything important changes, so if you ever have a question about Patreon, check here first!

💬 PATREON CHATS

There are a few community spaces here for different things:

🥂 THE REELIST LOUNGE

Our regular hangout! Talk about the channel, shows, movies, reactions, random nonsense, or just chat with your fellow Reelists.

🍿 THE REEL LIST

This is where you can drop movies you think I should react to!

I sometimes completely forget what movies exist, so I genuinely want a place where I can browse your suggestions and see which movies other Reelists are rallying around.

A suggestion is not a guarantee that I’ll watch/react to something. This is a suggestion bank, not a request queue. Movies that get a lot of interest may eventually make their way into Movie Matchmaker polls or onto my radar for future reactions.

For individual shows, feel free to discuss them in their appropriate spaces. Just remember to keep everything spoiler free beyond where I currently am!

Here, we have a live biweekly posting schedule so you can see what's coming to Patreon and when!

The best part? I'll update the board throughout the week whenever something gets posted, postponed, or moved around. The schedule is subject to change, so check back for the latest updates!

💡 REQUESTS & SUGGESTIONS

I LOVE knowing what you guys want to see! That's why we have two permanent community boards:

Each board has all of the suggestions I’ve collected so far. If you don't see something you suggested, it might be because I did not include it because it is a comedy, animated film, too indie, or my friend said I probably wouldn't like it. 😂

Heart anything you’d genuinely like to see me react to, and feel free to leave a comment to sell me (or everybody else 👀) on your pick! You can heart as many titles as you want.

Drop any new TV or movie suggestions in the Reel List chat here on Patreon. I'll go through the chat every few days and add new suggestions to the appropriate board. Once your suggestion is on there, everyone can start showing it some love!

The heart counts will give me a much easier way to see what multiple Reelists are interested in when I'm looking for something new to watch. They aren't binding votes or guarantees. I still have to actually wanna watch it, but they'll absolutely help me gauge demand.

You do not need to make an account to browse, heart, or comment on the boards.

🗣️ DISCORD — REELIST HQ

Patrons also have access to our Discord community, Reelist HQ!

Discord is the best place for more ongoing conversation between posts, including dedicated spaces for shows, general conversation, and hanging out with other Reelists.

There are show-specific spaces where spoilers are allowed too, like Karen’s Cafe for One Tree Hill. ☕️

To access our Patreon exclusive Discord community, follow these steps:

Log in to your Patreon account.

Go to Settings → More → Connected Apps.

Find Discord and click Connect.

Log in to your Discord account (or create one if you don't have one).

Click Authorize to link your accounts.

Once connected, find Reelist HQ on the same page and click Join Server.

That's it! Patreon should automatically give you access to our Discord community.

Having trouble? Try disconnecting and reconnecting Discord under Patreon’s Connected Apps settings. Make sure you're connecting the correct Discord account!

Note: PLEASE be careful with spoilers in comments and general chats. Because I’m watching many of these shows for the first time, don’t discuss anything beyond the episode I’ve currently watched unless you’re somewhere specifically designated for later season discussion.

🍿 LIVES + WATCH PARTIES

From time to time, I’ll also do live reactions/watch parties on Discord!

These may be planned in advance or completely last-minute depending on my schedule. When one is happening, I’ll post the details on Discord.

During live reactions, I’m still actively watching and recording, so I can’t constantly read the chat or pause the episode/movie to respond. I’ll glance over and interact when I can!

🚨 CONTENT UPDATES

Whenever there’s an important scheduling change, technical issue, delay, new show announcement, or anything else you actually need to know, look for posts labeled Content Update.

You do not need to hunt through random comments/messages to figure out what’s happening. If there’s a major change you need to know about, I’ll tell you!

💗 ONE LAST THING...

Patreon is supposed to be FUN.

Come watch some shows, scream about plot twists, argue about fictional people’s terrible decisions, vote in Movie Matchmaker, hang out with the Reelists and enjoy yourself. 😝

I’m juggling a LOT of different shows and movies, so schedules will occasionally shift and I won’t be able to take every request, but I’ll always keep you updated on what I’m watching and what’s coming next.
