You said all the characters on this show are flawed, and you’re SO right! I think that’s why I hate Owen soooo much. We’ve seen other ppl on Grey’s do some truly egregious things, but the difference is, unlike Owen, they grow and get better over time. Like Mark sleeping with his literal best friend’s wife, Derek lying to Meredith about being married, Karev plastering the hospital with lingerie photos of Izzie, etc. But somehow, while they severely pissed me off at the time, they had an upwards trajectory. Whereas Owen’s just been HORRIBLE the entire time to me lmao. Ever since he showed up and pulled that damn icicle out of Cristina’s stomach, he’s been ruining her life and I have no clue why the damn writers keep him around lol. Maybe they just want to torture us

Okay, so I had commented on your last video about how even a brilliant, incredible woman like Christina can end up reducing herself for a toxic man- GREAT point about Bailey supporting him too! I did not take that perspective into account and I appreciate it. Since Shonda gave us characters like Christina, Lexie and Bailey, I think I allowed myself to wear blinders when it comes to the benefit of the doubt with her but now I feel like the misogyny is coming from inside the house in this moment in time. Because Ben Warren is a CATCH, Bailey is absolutely NOT in a toxic relationship, and she's still not only giving Owen a pass but putting some of the onus of his shitty behavior onto Christina. Also, I completely agree that it's not just about the cheating because we were all mad at George and Izzie for cheating but they were examples of shitty decisions made by not-so-shitty people. We didn't hate them, we hated what they did. Owen is just trash through and through. Doing something as awful as cheating isn't a low point, it's his baseline. I have heard that the actor who plays him (Kevin McKidd) is an absolute delight of a human and so enjoyable to be around, that they kept him around through his toxic story line.
