... and I spent most of the movie mentally putting a long black wig on Patrick Wilson. XD And slightly squaring his chin. But he already came with the perfect cleave.

He's officially Fingon!

Wow! When I saw this picture my first thought was Fingon! Then I had to google Patrick Wilson as I don't know him. Seriously, he doesn't look a bit like an elf - not to mention like mighty and handsome Fingon. Patrick Wilson looks scrawny in comparison ... and his features - I just can't see a similarity. But then you do this magic stuff with your paintbrushes and all comes to life. You really amaze me again and again with your phenomenal ability to imagine things!! This picture is pure gold.

Funnily, I had the same problem when I googled him - most pictures I found didn't look like what I saw in the cinema at all. They did some CGI magic on him in the film, I think - the guy is two years older than I am, lol! But there were a few shots in the movie where he looked extremely Fingonian.

I didn't really like the movie but P.W would indeed make a good Fingon ! I wholeheartedly approve this design!

I didn't really like it either. Puerile humour meets sheer brutality - not my cup of tea. It had two redeeming elements - Patrick Wingon, and the fact that they really, really got me with the Willem Dafoe character. When I wasn't putting imaginary wigs on Orm, I spent the movie telling myself that Vulko was going to betray them all... aaaaany minute now... What?? He didn't? That was a huge surprise. XD

Patrick Wingon...? XD I’ll never read his name otherwise from now on! XD XD Now, I googled pictures of him, and true, he doesn’t look like Orm at all. But if CGI can transform a person’s face like that, then I would have a Silmarillion dream casting in a flash. I had this dream, one year ago, that I was asked to write a TV series based on The Silmarillion, and loved it. Never considered an actual cast of characters though. The only thing I would want is Maglor sounding like Josh Groban, and my only nightmare, that Michael Fassbender Is chosen to play Maedhros.
