I always pass on the TV shows, so I'll be enjoying this for as long as I can. Looking forward to it.

Chryss Guiler

Me, too. Unless someone decides to watch WKRP in Cincinnati. That was a great show from the 1970s which I think not many people have seen. That may be because the rights to the great rock and roll music in the show had to be re-acquired after the show went into syndication, and it took a long time to do that. It's a show about a Midwest radio station that announced farm stuff and hog futures and the owner decided to change the format, so they hired someone as Program Director, and that someone decided to switch to rock and roll. A great ensemble cast and I highly recommend it. It's available with the restored music on dvd at Shout! Factory.

Dark City Twelve Monkeys Long Kiss Goodnight Screamers Gattaca Ghost in the Shell (Anime) Brazil The Fifth Element The Last Boy Scout True Romance

James Hadden

There’s a couple in there I haven’t seen but the rest are simply excellent movies in my opinion. Interesting use of the original title of Twelve Monkeys, I see it everywhere as 12 Monkeys, except for my Bluray copy

Mark M

Movie suggestions for future polls: Speed(1994) Pulp Fiction(1994) There's Something About Mary(1998) Scream(1996) Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves(1991) Sleeping With The Enemy(1991) Kingpin(1996)

TeatroGrottesco

Probably cost less to print... lol I recommend La Jetée, but figured would go with Twelve Monkeys first. 😂😂

Totally Whatever

Good to know - we can see how everyone else feels. Maybe we stick with movies for a while. Or do a combination of both.

Mark M

They could watch the Turkey episode on Thanksgiving 😊

Mike the Ginger

I don't watch TV shows either, on any patreon. The only show I would possibly consider watching is Stranger Things, which I have seen before and I am sure the girls have as well. This is a good poll. All those are movies I love and would recommend. I will watch the full length reaction to any of them. If you do The Fugitive (1993), you might find it fascinating to know that it is based off of a very popular 1960s television show, Tommy Lee Jones won an Oscar for Best Picture, and there is a sequel starring Tommy Lee Jones as the same character called "U.S. Marshals" (1998) that I would recommend as well. Naturally, I voted for Air Force One (1997) but either way all four of these are great. Michael Bay directed Bad Boys (1995), then The Rock (1996) then Armageddon (1998), if you wanted to watch them in order of his direction.

JAKH

"The Long Kiss Goodnight" and "The Last Boy Scout" are both written by Shane Black, who wrote "Lethal Weapon"

FranciscoGios

Can’t wait for The Fugitive, it’s one of Harrison’s best films, its one of my top 20 films of the 90s. The Rock is pretty close to best as well.

RX-1

The Fugitive is my favorite of these but if you'd like one not on the list I'd go for the 2005 War of the Worlds.

Totally Whatever

Thanks for the suggestion! Currently, we are focusing mostly on 70s, 80s, and 90s movies. Do you have any other favorites?

Totally Whatever

Didn't realize that! We do have a Lethal Weapon reaction coming out at some point.

Totally Whatever

Thanks, Mike! We didn't know that it was based on a TV show.

Om

If you're taking film suggestions for the 70s, 80s and 90s, here are some greats. Not all of them are super-famous standard Reaction fare, but all of them are good: 70s: - Chinatown (might be too dark) - The Life of Brian (might be too funny) - The Warriors (might be perfect) - The Odd Couple (might be from 1968... shhhh!) 80s: - The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (will be bizarre) - Who Framed Roger Rabbit (will be popular) - Labyrinth (will remind you of the babe) - Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (will 100% lead to watching the sequel) 90s: - Rumble In The Bronx (has Jackie Chan) - Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (has Bill and Ted) - The Hudsucker Proxy (has the most spoiler-ific poster I've ever seen)

Om

A counter-voice to represent. I enjoy TV show reactions and I'd like to see you do more. The only thing is it needs to be a TV show I know (I've never watched Firefly so couldn't really watch your reactions) and like. And please, not "The Last of Us" which is wall to wall on every reaction channel. I think either there's a hive mind out there or they're being sponsored.

Grampa Brad

FWIW, I pulled for the aliens to kill the two super annoying children.

Grampa Brad

Mark, Robin Hood with Patrick Bergin was released at the same time as Prince of Thieves. I thought it was better than PoT.

Mark M

I haven't seen the one with Patrick Bergin. I'll have to check it out.

JAKH

You also saw him as an actor in "Predator" where he was the guy telling jokes to try to get Billy to laugh.

Shawn Goforth

I think my aversion to the TV reactions is just that I find them harder to participate in the watch-alongs, unless I have subscribed to every streaming service out there. I don't do much streaming of any kind, and it would seem kind of silly to rent individual episodes. They also take longer to get through, so if there is a particular series we're not fond of, it takes up a lot of space and usually means we're getting fewer posts per week/month that would be providing value.

Mike the Ginger

My issue is that I am pretty old fashioned for my mid-30s. I occasionally binge shows, but with a few exceptions, they are mostly from the 1990s or before. Seinfeld, Cheers, Frasier, etc. The last show I binged was The Golden Girls. If someone binged something like Cheers, I would likely watch along.

JAKH

with a young Uma Thurman as maid Marian

Totally Whatever

We have had a hard time finding a TV show that appeals to most of our patrons. Instead of finishing a full series, maybe we can do a "best of" - for things like Star Trek or Cheers

Grampa Brad

I highly recommend The Thirteenth Floor, (1999) which deals with not living in base reality, a simulation. And, of course, They Live (1988) a John Carpenter joint.

Grampa Brad

Elon Musk said the odds are astronomical that we don't live in a simulation

Totally Whatever

We will take a look at those! The Thirteenth Floor sounds amazing. We've had many people recommend They Live - so we HAVE to do it at some point.

thansen

I agree with The Thirteenth Floor. I watched it for the first time last summer and I was so impressed I watched it again immediately. I haven't yet seen They Live but a lot of people I know love it.

thansen

I love Chinatown and The Odd Couple, the latter containing some of the funniest scenes.

Patrick York

Movie suggestion fargo reservoir dogs

Om

The Odd Couple is a very harmless and endearing old comedy with Walter Mathau and Jack Lemon. Chinatown is a film noir with a young Jack Nicholson and it is... less harmless. I don't mean it's gory or gratuitous or anything like that. It's a classic sort of noir. But it's nonetheless quite dark. Gripping though.

Paul

Come on people, The Rock is awesome! One of Sean Connery's best roles. And it's the only decent Michael Bay movie lol.
