From a lost era of filmmaking.:) Ray Harryhausen was a giant in special effects and his sci-fi, fantasy and monster movies inspired a whole generation. But as much as I love this third and last of his SINBAD movies, the end was near for stop-motion animation on this scale. Harryhausen had one last movie, 1981's Greek mythology epic CLASH OF THE TITANS. Stop-motion (animation using photos of still models) was briefly replaced by the superior go-motion (animation using photos of models in motion) but CGI was already showing up in movies by the mid-80s. I do admit to owning a Minoton toy at one point.

Dr. Quinn looking very crush worthy at any age!! Thanks Tim for the movie request as I honestly wouldn't have watched this otherwise. It was a nice throwback. A little tidbit I found is that Peter Mayhew(Chewbacca himself) is uncredited for the role of Minoton per imdb. Carolyn, I'm going to start calling people 'stinkers' from this point forward😄😁😆

So interesting - Chewbacca as Minoton! You should definitely start calling people 'stinkers'. 😉

This movie was a request, and we didn't realize it was the third in a series. Do you think we should check out CLASH OF THE TITANS?

Patrick Flanagan

It's a very fun movie, kind of a farewell for the classic era of fantasy films of the '50s and '60s. Also it has a robot owl.

I howled every time it cut back to Zenobia's ship and hearing you both telling her to give up, and she could do magic

REDR58

Yes you should AND Jason and the Argonauts (1963).

Mark M

Yes to Clash of the Titans. It reminds me of studying Greek Mythology in school:)
