We've had many requests to start watching some films outside of our 70s, 80s, and 90s range. So we gathered a lineup of fantastic 60s films. These are some of the most frequently requested classics. We invite you to cast your vote and help us determine which of these iconic films we should watch first.

I vote that people stop suggesting such things. Let's stay focused!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Byrd N. Hand

The '60s was just as good as the next 3 decades... and, frankly, a lot of films from the end of the decade definitely set the table for '70s cinema. Though I think "Psycho" is a bit overrated, I'll watch their reactions to any of these 4 titles. I only wish "2001" (one of my all-time favorites) was also listed (and at least its underrated sequel *is* from the '80s). ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Grampa Brad

The girls loved Tombstone and I thought the first of the new westerns was Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) written by William Goldman, who also wrote The Princess Bride.

Robert Jonsson

Dr No so you cรกn watch all the Bond movies!

Gรกbor รrki

You can almost never go wrong with Hitchcock. He really was the master of suspense. Bond, on the other hand, would be a fascinating journey through five decades of filmmaking. But since so many have recently started reacting to it, this might not be the ideal time to hop on that bandwagon. Some other great 60s movies I would love to see: - Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) Leoneโ€™s other masterpiece that often gets overshadowed by the Dollars trilogy, which has so many reactions - Bullitt (1968) A true milestone in filmmaking and still one of the best car chase sequences put on film - The Odd Couple (1968) Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon are one of the best comedic duos ever and this is one of their most beloved movie - The Italian Job (1969) You may have seen the 2003 remake with Mark Wahlberg, but the original is good too with a young Michael Caine - The Dirty Dozen (1967) A fictional WW2 action movie with an all-star cast - The Longest Day (1962) Another WW2 movie, this time in a docudrama format with an ensemble cast, based on some real events of D-Day - Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) I consider this to be one of the movies everyone should watch, telling a fictionalized version of the Nuremberg trials after WW2

Bill W

Yes, there's great films from the '60, as well as the '30s-'50s. But keeping within the parameters of 70s80s90s there are still more great films than they will ever get to, PLUS we might just get around to some gems that go ignored on almost every other channel. If we expand the field, that will lessen the likelihood of that, and those films will just continue to remain on the shelf. These ladies only have so much time and since well are all clamoring to get our favorite films watched, each reaction slot is valuable.

Flounder

Charly (1968) - An intellectually disabled man undergoes an experiment that gives him the intelligence of a genius. There is a copy available on YouTube for free. It is a fantastic film. None of the choices in the poll really grabbed me. The Odd Couple would be good. Also: What Did You Do in the War, Daddy? (1966) The Great Race (1965) It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963)

Phil Stubblefield

I second the nomination for Charly, a fascinating film adapted from the Hugo Award-winning science fiction story Flowers for Algernon.

Phil Stubblefield

I personally disagree about Psycho being overrated, but I certainly agree with the suggestions of 2001 and its criminally underrated sequel 2010 (1984), itself adapted from Arthur C. Clarke's sequel to his original novel!

Phil Stubblefield

Sorry, Bill, but I have to disagree with you here (which is surprising given that you and I are usually on the same page). Every decade has its box office titans (some of them actually good!), its flops, and its hidden gems. I personally didn't join this channel because of a focus on particular decades, but rather because Nanolyn are such compelling reactors. I'd rather see them react to great films from any decade rather than restrict themselves to an artificially determined subset.

Bill W

But THEY chose the subset when they started the channel. Why would it be so terrible to just go along with it? Like going into a restaurant and saying "Hey, I know it's not on the menu, but can you make me a......"

Totally Whatever

Don't worry, we will continue with the 70s, 80s, and 90s - but we will throw in some other decades occasionally.

Byrd N. Hand

Only a Sith deals in absolutes, Bill. ๐Ÿค Other '60s films I'd highly recommend: - "The Hustler" (its sequel, "The Color of Money," came out in '86) - "Lawrence of Arabia" - "Hud" - "The Pink Panther" (and its sequel, "A Shot in the Dark," which came out the following year, as well as its 3 other sequels from the '70s) - "Dr. Strangelove" - "Repulsion" - "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" - "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" - "Bonnie and Clyde" - "Cool Hand Luke" - "The Graduate" - "In the Heat of the Night" - "The Producers" - "Rosemary's Baby" - "Easy Rider" - "Medium Cool" - "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" - "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" - " The Wild Bunch" - "Midnight Cowboy"

Bill W

TW I enjoy movies from many decades. It's not about that.

Harvey Lee

Both Psycho and Planet of the Apes are awesome and have famous twist endings that have probably been spoiled for you through pop culture , In any case you'll enjoy them . So hard to decide since I love Bond as well. What ever you choose I know I'll enjoy it .

Mike the Ginger

All good films, but I voted for Psycho since it is just about horror season and Janet Leigh looks sexy in it.

Joe J

Looks like Psycho gonna take this one (haha).

Joe J

Are we doing any specific "scaries" polls for October?

Phil Stubblefield

Dang it, Patreon Android app! This comment was a reply to something below... So I'll just put it there!

Phil Stubblefield

Byrd, +100 for the Star Wars quote! ๐Ÿ˜‚ TBH, that quote has always alternated between annoying me and amusing me. It's the perfect example of self-defeating inconsistency. "Only a Sith deals in absolutes." Really, Obi-Wan? Then you've just identified as Sith, 'cause that's a pretty absolute opinion! ๐Ÿคฃ

Totally Whatever

We are going to do two scary polls on YouTube. The Shining is winning the first one. Then we might have another here on Patreon.

Byrd N. Hand

Well, it's part of why the Jedi lost their way, isn't it, Phil?

thansen

I was very lucky in that when I watched both films I had no idea about the endings. I still think the ending for Planet of the Apes to be the best surprise ending ever.

thansen

I watched that about a year ago and I thought going into it I would not like it at all. Loved it, though. Wouldn't mind watching that again.
