Sorry I couldn't join the live chat. Not having a good day. 😥

Mike the Ginger

I was at my nephew's basketball game, but I was able to click on the video for a bit, but could not find the live chat at the time. Thank you for answering my question about your favorite reactions and I look forward to more great fun in the coming year. Happy New Year!

Byrd N. Hand

I meant to at least drop in for a bit, but ended up falling asleep (it was a little late for my schedule). Best wishes to you both in the new year! EDIT: After retroactively watching the stream on YT, I'll just say that "Manhunter" is more of a standalone movie, whereas "The Silence of the Lambs," "Hannibal," and "Red Dragon" are all linked, given that Anthony Hopkins plays Hannibal Lecter in all 3 of those movies. While I'm sure most people will push for you to watch "Lambs" first, I'd personally love to see you watch the series chronologically, providing you skip the fan service-y coda of "Red Dragon" after the sailboat scene (you can watch that bit after you've seen "Lambs"), and then "Lambs," and then "Hannibal."

Totally Whatever

No worries, thanks for thinking of us. I hope you are doing better today.

Totally Whatever

Glad you could see the replay - thanks for the great question. Happy New Year, Mike!

Totally Whatever

Happy New Year! So we would do Manhunter (1986) first and then The Silence of the Lambs (1991) ?

inspectordh

Thank you Carolyn and Nanette. I thought of something that you might like to have on a shirt for the merchandise you sell. A movie isn't complete without glass breaking. What do you think?

Totally Whatever

Love that! We are hoping to add more designs in the new year.

inspectordh

Very cool. I'm sure that would really sell.

Byrd N. Hand

"Manhunter" is completely separate from the 3 movies starring Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter; you don't need to watch it tandem with the others... but it's the same story as "Red Dragon," in which Hannibal's role was more expanded for that later adaptation. Sorry if I confused you further. I'm sure most people will want you to watch "Lambs" first among those 3 anyway. 🤷‍♂️

Totally Whatever

Okay, so it's probably best that we watch Lambs first. Then continue with the series.

Byrd N. Hand

I'll watch your reaction regardless; I personally just feel it's awkward to start with what is chronologically the middle installment of a trilogy first. 🤷‍♂️

Totally Whatever

Sorry, I was confused. The order you prefer is Red Dragon (stop after the sailboat scene), The Silence of the Lambs, and then Hannibal?

Byrd N. Hand

That's my personal preferred order, yes (you can then go back and watch beyond the sailboat scene once you've seen "Lambs" if you want), but I doubt that I'll have many supporters on that front, since the vast majority of people who watch reactors seem to want them all to experience these movies exactly the way they did rather than you potentially having a first-time experience totally unique to you. 😐 Also, both "Red Dragon" and "Hannibal" go outside of your general '70s/'80s/'90s channel bubble, and aren't as universally well-regarded as "Lambs." But ultimately it's your channel and your choice. I'll understand if you choose to go the conventional route.
