Happy Monday!

The wait is finally over for Rocky IV - our reaction to the legendary showdown between Rocky and Drago will be premiering on YouTube this Tuesday, January 20th.

Alongside that, we are diving into the classic 1994 Stephen King mini-series, The Stand. As a special thank you for your support, we are making the first episode of all our TV reactions free. (This should help you decide if you want to stick around for the following episode. πŸ˜‰)

More exciting news - we are officially launching a second channel in February called Totally Whatever: Reloaded! We wanted our Patrons to know first. The new channel will feature TV show reactions, extra movie reactions, and bonus content. The channel is live right now, and we’d love for you to subscribe so you’re ready for our first "Reloaded" drops. Firefly Ep. 1 will post on February 5th, followed quickly by Band of Brothers Ep. 1 on February 8th.

Awesome! Wishing you both a great week. Are there any plans to watch the big 4 tv series', Breaking Bad, GOT, the Sopranos, and Peaky Blinders? Also Sherlock on BBC is top notch. There's just so much good stuff to watch out there. πŸŽ₯πŸ§β€β™€οΈπŸ§β€β™€οΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ«ΆπŸ«Ά

THE STAND?! Awesome! One of my favorite TV miniseries that my late Mother and I would watch often. I even have a Blu-Ray with restored video and audio 😁

AdrianF

The Stand makes me muy happy in addition to a strong week of reactions.

Dorsalfinsky

I will definitely watch The Stand. I have rewatched the opening credit sequence several times since first see it broadcast. I’d suggest the made for TV movie The Martian Chronicles, but what stands out for me there is MacBeth himself Jon Finch and the amazing Bernadette Peters. If anyone out there can find a the performance of her singing Making Love Alone on SNL around 1983 it would be much appreciated. I saw it then and it’s as though it’s been purged from humanities sensitivities or something. Though I’m sure it’s just copyrighted. You gals got Ms. Peter’s’ number by chance? Go Bears. πŸ’•πŸŽΆβœŒπŸ½πŸ˜³πŸ™ˆπŸ§Έ

That is an absolutely phenomenal line up.... I'm excited and looking forward to them all, but especially The Stand ....one of my favourite Stephen King novels and this is a great adaptation of it .. have a fabulous day..

Jay Davis

It just occurred to me over the weekend to maybe suggest someone react to The Stand but then I brushed it off. A TV movie? A really, REALLY long TV movie? And then, lo and behold...

AdrianF

It's such a good adaptation that's frequently overlooked. Sure, there's a bit of 90s jank in it, but that came with the territory back then.

Terry In the UK

100% agree.....it can often be very hit and miss anytime someone tries to adapt anything Stephen King has written, but I really like this one. Shame it's overlooked as often as it is like you said.

AdrianF

You missed BCS. I'd definitely be up for that and BB/GoT if we're allowed stuff from the 2000s and on. Sherlock nosedived for me but the first couple of seasons were fantastic telly.

inspectordh

Congratulations on your new channel Ladies! πŸŽ‰

Sam

I never watch reactions on tv show series - they are stretched out over a long period, I forget what happened previously, long series suffer from "what can we write that we haven't already done a hundred times" writers syndrome. Plus for reactors, they only get about 10% - 20% views of a good movie reaction. Seems like a lot of editing for the number of views.

The Stand! Thank you for listening! It is such a great series! I'm sure it's in the can now, but I won't spoil it for others. I'll just say, Isn't it great? I think it's an all-time classic! Of course I subscribe to the new channel!

Greg In East TN

I've been recommending it for a while. :)

Dorsalfinsky

I'm sorry to keep bringing up the Bears and Chicago, but though you don't go at each other like Siskel and Ebert did, this feels like a natural flow from that. Go Cubbies Billy Goat Mike Royko Sears Tower

Totally Whatever

Gomez - We've looked at The Sopranos since it is closer to our timeframe. Adrian - What is BCS and BB?

Totally Whatever

It's not 100% in the can just yet. So definitely no spoilers. ;) That's for subbing!

Better Call Saul, which was a spin off of Breaking Bad. Out of all of those great shows, I'd have to say Breaking Bad the best. I think you both would really like Sherlock the BBC show. There were only 3 or so episodes per season, and the cast and crew are amazing, as well as the writing. And remember, when you need a feel good movie that I think you'll both love and covers a great time frame, there's always Mr. Holland's Opus. 😁🎢🀞

AdrianF

Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad ladies - For me the 'sequel' edges it. Both are amazing and must-watches either privately or for the channel one day.

AdrianF

I got goosebumps seriously when I saw the schedule. So you both have to pretend to like it at least!

AdrianF

Can us Standers get an early link to the first episode? jajaja

Phil Stubblefield

Love the Siskel and Ebert reference! I hadn't made that connection with Nanolyn... πŸ˜†

AdrianF

Me too Greg!

Phil Stubblefield

Congrats on your new channel, Nanolyn! You're rapidly expanding from a single mom-and-pop establishment (okay, "sis-and-sis") to an entire franchise. I'm glad we patrons could get in on the ground floor! πŸ˜…

Wade Wallenstein

To say the least lol Also: Congrats on the new channel!

Joe J

Best of luck with the new channel. Short run TV shows and mini-series are the best approach I think. Hope you stay with 70s-90s content and avoid modern shows.

Totally Whatever

Thanks, Phil! I like that - sis-and-sis franchise. We are working hard this year to make YT our full-time jobs. 🀞

Totally Whatever

Thank you, Joe! We are looking for more mini-series and definitely short run tv shows. We might hit the top episodes for certain series as well.

Phil Stubblefield

And you have the charisma, skills, and fans to make it happen! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

Harvey Lee

Congrats on the new channel N+C ,πŸŽ‰ and i do look forward to the Stand that is quite the epic series with a stacked cast .πŸ˜„πŸ€˜

Mike the Ginger

So what exactly makes the new channel different from the current one?

Dorsalfinsky

I thought there was someone in my head…

Dorsalfinsky

When the Lieutenant loses his legs it makes me sad though.

Totally Whatever

Mike - the new channel will have all of our TV Show reactions.

Mike the Ginger

I thought you did that on your channel already? Band of Brothers, The Stand, Miami Vice, etc. Or were those just on Patreon and not posted to your YouTube channel?

Totally Whatever

Yes, those were only on Patreon. We have a ton of full-lengths that haven't been edited for YT yet. The new channel will share edited versions of Firefly, Band of Brothers, and The Stand.

Joe J

Many channels get much fewer views on TV shows than movies, so just be prepared for that.
