Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

The idea (joke) is that 17.5 years of picking up Tribbles is marginally better than the 20 years in prison if Jones had been found guilty of transporting dangerous animals. Plus at least it's 17.5 years of "soft" labour *buh-dum-tss* 🥁

This was a great way to end your TOS viewing! It's one of the most lighthearted episodes that always makes you laugh. You should definitely head to the TOS movies since you have a feel for the crew. Live long and prosper!

Nanette, your insights about rabbits is prescient. Writer David Gerrold based the story on a rabbit infestation in Australia. As a member of the Television Academy, during awards season e used to be sent video tapes for all the shows that were up for awards. Then DVDs, now it's online. In 1996, STAR TREK DEEP SPACE NINE was up for show consideration - "Trials and Tribble-ations." This was a celebration of what was then 30 years of Star Trek. It was the most expensive episode to date. I still have the behind the scenes video, but no way to upload it, so here's a TV special from the SCi-Fi Channel, that uses some of the same footage. https://youtu.be/DCPbAwiWKt0?si=lA2kQbfQSzxFCEtf

Hello, I was wondering how a person sponsors a movie reaction? Thanks.

Totally Whatever

It was too much fun. We are sad that we've already completed the top episodes. Maybe we can go to a movie, good idea.

Totally Whatever

Well, no wonder it reminded me of rabbits. Now I have to Google "Australia rabbit infestation." Thanks for the link. Is "Trials and Tribble-ations" something we can watch as a one-off? Or will jumping to the episode ruin our intro to Deep Space Nine

Kevin Rubio

It can be seen as a one-off. Some of the jokes will go over your head when it comes to the new crew, but the plot hinges on you having seen the original "The Trouble With Tribbles." I will reveal/explain one: After the cancelation of the series and NBC found out that they had just canceled their highest rated show (according to new Nielsen demographics) talks began to relaunch the series. 10 years and one animated show later, Star Trek came to the big screen with a lot of new looks. The biggest were the Klingons. With a higher make-up budget they changes the look, and that look has stayed consistent since. They make a joke about it in "Trials and Tribble-ations."

Sad to see you're ending your Star Trek Journey , but hey i'm glad it was an endearing episode having done some training i loved the barroom brawl I would definitely recommend you move on to the movies as you get to see the characters develop even further and the budgets were much bigger with better effects of course . And you've seen Space seed that is a perfect lead in to one of my favorites out of the movies .

Wade Wallenstein

Definitely start with Star Trek: The Motion Picture!

Hi ladies, happy and sad day. Happy you watched, sad that its over. The Tribbles did return in an animated episode, and you should definitely watch the DS9 episode as it does not relate to any other stories running through the series.

Totally Whatever

That barroom brawl was top tier! We are considering jumping into the movies - we need more Kirk & Spock.

Totally Whatever

Animated series episode with The Tribbles - we've got to see it.

Joeking1701

If you do, let us know what you think. Also if you watch any other episodes.

... Or you could watch more episodes. That's my strong recommendation. There are plenty of great episodes to go.
