If you want another Steve Buscemi comedy check out Living in Oblivion. It’s my favorite “movie in a movie” movie. Also stars Peter Dinklage in his first credited screen appearance.

Harvey Lee

The Big Lebowski is deservedly a cult classic. The Dude as played by Jeff Bridges is one of those great iconic characters that's just always cool whilst always getting into the most ridiculous situations . I'm just laughing already as I recall the scene with the ashes .😄 Enjoy Ladies 😎🤘

Nanette & Carolyn are shimmering, glimmering, gorgeous goddesses

I love this movie, it's so funny and Walter is my spirit animal, however a few issues Most reactions I've seen they do not like Walter (I think the out of control nature is funny but a lot of people think he is annoying) Cinemasins points out you have Steve Buscemi and he basically is there to get yelled at, also they show the dude to be a moron then at the end he becomes Sherlock Holmes, what? Lol Fun fact you never actually see the dude bowl.

Been waiting for this one! Watching when I get home from work.

Jackie Treehorn was the bad guy in Road House. Of course that's just like "my opinion man." Jeff Bridges used his own clothes for Lebowski.

I feel like Jeff Bridges has slowly transformed into the Dude in real life😊

Wade Wallenstein

This is such a hilarious film! You should check out Burn After Reading for more Coen Brothers. In an early draft of the script, The Dude's source of income was revealed. He was an heir to the inventor of the Rubik's Cube, which would have also made him Hungarian in turn. It was Joel Coen's idea to drop this and never say.

Totally Whatever

We love that all the characters are flawed in their own unique and humorous ways.

Totally Whatever

We will definitely watch more Coen Brothers. An heir to the inventor of the Rubik's Cube is so fitting.

I don't know if this is my favorite Coen Brothers movie but it's probably the one I watch the most because it gets funnier every time I watch it, this watch I was laughing so much at Phillip Seymour Hoffman's performance. So much trivia, Walter was based kind of on John Millius, directed Conan the Barbarian and Red Dawn, great writer who also wrote the most famous monologues like "Napalm in the Morning" Quint's story of the USS Indianapolis in Jaws was originally 8 pages Millius wrote that Robert Shaw (Quint, who was also a writer) condenses to about a page and a half, and that what we get in the scene. Great talent and he was a long time friend of Coppola and Spielberg, De Palma, Lucas, but he was eccentric and "bombastic" is they word they use describing him. Like Walter, who may or may not actually be a veteran lol Also, John Turturro revisited the Jesus character in "The Jesus Rolls" and in it he says the charge he was convicted of was a misunderstanding, he's apparently very, uh, big, and he was at a urinal and someone saw it and freaked out lol. And Walter was again not accurate, Jesus was a douche bag, but not a... That's so funny how there's even more lore about this movie, including that bowling league!

Totally Whatever

We want to know which Coen Brothers movie is your favorite. Thanks for the extra trivia and for giving us more context around the Jesus character.

Oof, that's tough, my top choices are this, and a completely different movie, No Country For Old Men, but Raising Arizona is up there, O Brother Where Art Thou... Ah, gun to the head it might be this, The Big Lebowski, because it also roasts kind of where I live, Southern California, I shop at Ralph's lol, the random weird people, In N Out, and the Dude is kind of an anti hero. Like Wolverine, but stoned 🤣

Mister Lou

"You See what happens, Larry?! You See what happens, when you find a stranger and the Alps?!" Is my all time favorite TV censored lines.

Totally Whatever

Seems we have more Coen Brothers movies to consume. Stoned Wolverine! 🤣

Tarjei

Stumbled across this when it first ran on the big screen when it was released. And have loved it ever since. It is one of those films I rewatch at periodic intervals.
