Terry In the UK

Ooooh, I can't believe my movie choice got picked for the poll... it's up against some really strong competition and some exceptional films.... good luck to the winner.

Wally Hartshorn

Miracle Mile would really be great to react to, especially going in blind. It’s not the greatest movie of all time, but it’s good and has a fairly unique premise that feels quite real.

Wade Wallenstein

Love that Star Trek: The Motion Picture made the list! You know the crew and it would be great to see you continue!

Smooticus

I really like this format

Mark M

some excellent choices this month! i will be voting for multiple movies. Is Star Trek Director's edition the one streaming on Paramount?

Bill W

Nothing on the list really excites me, however, anything but Star Trek will be fine.

Joe Shwartz

Yours got my vote! That movie along with Field of Dreams are my two biggest tearjerker endings.

Terry In the UK

Thank you Joe, I chose La Bamba because it is one of the best music biopics and an essential piece of 80s cinema... although it is up against some really good movies...I have a sneaky feeling that Star Trek will win the poll though.

Ian Hunter (NewbieInOttawa)

Agreed, Wally! It's not a film I've seen in decades but would be great to see again. And offhand, I can't think of any reaction channel that's scoped it out yet either.

Barry

Fingers crossed for Blue Thunder

Parenthood is a hidden gem. So funny and authentic. If you're a parent or have ever been parented, it will connect with you. And the cast is amazing - Steve Martin, Jason Robards, Joaquin Phoenix [1st role?] Keanu Reeves. Rick Moranis, Mary Steenburgen Dianne Wiest....

Capstan50g

Los Lobos do great covers of Ritchie's songs. This movie meant a lot to me.

AdrianF

If STTMP wins I will literally defenestrate myself (not literally). La Bamba, Daylight or Parenthood for me.

Terry In the UK

I agree Capstan....they do a fabulous job with the covers, and yeah...this movie means a lot to me too.

Terry In the UK

Adrian, may I just take a quick moment to thank you for teaching me a new word today... unashamedly, I had to Google the meaning of "defenestrate"...it may not become part of my everyday vocabulary, but it's always good to learn something new...thank you 👍

AdrianF

Haha, it's a useful word when you have a badly-behaved cat, or an early Star Trek movie in a poll ;)

OrionM42

The gods of Randomness smiled on me: "The Ghost and the Darkness" made the list. However, the Voters are a tougher group of Deities. 😉

Mark M

I selfishly choose movies that are available for me to stream on one of the countless streaming services i have subscribed to. The Ghost and the Darkness is a great movie but unfortunately it's not streaming currently.

Joe J

@Mark, if you're interested, everything is on Flixbaba and Fsonic.

Joe J

I like this idea for Polls.

OrionM42

Thanks for the feedback and Info, guys. 👍

Silver Machine

A minor correction… Star Trek: The Motion Picture (which I voted for!) was released in 1979 — after Star Wars, not before it.

Mike the Ginger

Nice choices! I voted for La Bamba, Honeymoon in Vegas, The Ghost and the Darkness and YES, Miracle Mile is an odd unexpected but memorable movie.

K.J.

Hi, Nanette & Carolyn! Please consider including these great movies in Future Polls: INTERSTELLAR (2014), WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1989), L.A. CONFIDENTIAL (1997), WARRIOR (2011), THE PRESTIGE (2006), BABY DRIVER (2017), GONE GIRL (2014), LEGENDS OF THE FALL (1994), WHIPLASH (2014), SHUTTER ISLAND (whoever), V FOR VENDETTA (2005), COLLATERAL (2004), JERRY MAGUIRE (1996), THE TOWN (2010), CHILDREN OF MEN (2006) and THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY (2005-2012). Best wishes to you both.

Joe W

Kirk Star Trek will always get my vote.

Terry In the UK

Thanks Mike...La Bamba is a great movie that I'm sure Nanette and Carolyn would love...I think it's going to take a miracle though to beat Star Trek, I'm a huge Trekkie so not all bad, but The Motion Picture can divide the fans....all great choices in the poll though.

Stephen Wright

Would t do Star Trek any bless you’re familiar with the original series.

Randolph Tirazona

Thee original premise for the Star Trek Universe: "Wagon Train in Space" lol

StevieWayne16

La Bamba is the best movie in the poll! So so good.

Terry In the UK

Thanks Stevie.... I agree but it doesn't look like it's going to win unfortunately though ☹️

Roadwarrior1031

Only reason I pick Blue Thunder cause it one of mine favorite Roy Scheider movies him flying a super copper and he did this movie so he didn't have to do Jaws 3 that came out same time cause he had a bad experience on Jaws 2 with the director that almost become a fist fight between them

Aaron Warfield

Well, my choice didn't make the cut, but there is always next month! Also, a good watch would be The Last Picture Show (1971, as old as I am )

J D

I would have to say The Ghost and the Darkness (96') 🦁 is my choice . 😌 The premise is' actually scientifically proven . The theory has been seen -w- sea life too 🛟

Simon King

I vote for The Ghost and the Darkness, some nice choices 👍

OrionM42

Right you are! Good Observation.

K.J.

That's cool then. I'll check out the full length. Is there also a YT edit for L.A. Confidential?

Totally Whatever

We haven't had it edited for YT yet. We will be adding it to our Reloaded at some point, though.

MotoDork

Sorry about that, guys. That was a mistype. Star Trek was 1979.

K.J.

Oh... alright then. I'm very much looking forward to your reaction for Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers :)
