I LOT of Boston accents! I have to listen very carefully for the dialogue! After all the movies we’ve seen set in Chicago.. nice to see one set in New England!

Michael Keenan

Nice to see Matt Damon being a jerk.

Harvey Lee

What a high tension thriller , So many twists and betrayals in this right up til the end This was Martin Scorcese 's first Oscar win for best director It's set in Boston (love those accents) instead of his usual New York backdrop and is a remake of a Hong Kong thriller. infernal Affairs . Thanks C+N I just know you enjoyed this .

Totally Whatever

Boston is a nice change of pace from all of the Chicago movies we have been watching!

RegalEagle

Really hard to find one set in Maine.. Last night I watched a Kevin Costner movie set in Chicago, ‘on the Cape’ and in North Carolina called ‘Message in a Bottle’ (1999)

Totally Whatever

Yes, it is! They don't film much here. They filmed some of Message in a Bottle here, right?

RegalEagle

Big chunks of it in Downtown Chicago, coastal N.C. And just a little bit on the beaches of Cape Cod..

RegalEagle

Another Chicago movie I watched yesterday .. saw a lot of the CTA in the Sanda Bullock movie ‘While You Were Sleeping’ (1995)

RegalEagle

Kewl! I thought ‘Cujo’ and ‘Pet Semetary’ were.. because of Steven King.. is ‘Misery’ on that list?

RegalEagle

Just looked at the list! WOW! Thanx Ace!

Red Dwarf

Guys, slow down I can't keep up. I have things to do lol. For some reason I haven't ever liked Scorcese films much. But for some reason I love this one and have seen it so many times.

thomas king

Great watch ladies. U guys are on a roll this week.. I don't know if u have seen it but The Usual Suspects would be a great watch if u have not seen it

Joe C

One of my favorite movies, so many layers to unpeel.

Mark M

I love this movie! Great reaction as always. There are a few scenes besides the obvious shock moments that i adore. Everytime Costigan and Madolyn share a scene I feel a sense of how much fear and pressure he is under and how she acts as a type of release valve. Great acting.

Mister Lou

The "hidden" X's are so subtle on a first time watch, but when you start looking for them, or keep an eye out for them its so obvious and in your face.. great film!

Mike the Ginger

The girls need to see "While You Were Sleeping" if they havent yet. It is a Christmas/New Years film, so I would recommend they drop it in December if they do.

Lovaire Hawkins

Chi Town here!!! Great reaction ladies!!! I do t think that you actually breathed until the very end. Like I said…. Instant CLASSIC!!!!! Great reaction!!

FranciscoGios

Ladies that was a great reaction! The fan base of this movie say that because Malodyn looked away from Colin and looked back mourning at Billy’s funeral picture says she is probably pregnant from Billy. She never answered back when Colin asked her about the baby, also we never saw Colin & Malodyn having sex we only saw Billy & Malodyn doing it so that’s my answer. Carolyn is rocking that blue blouse like a rock star.

Bill Elliott

Great one you guys. At this point, I would do all Sorcese’s films. They have a following and if nothing else, you two get to watch a great movie together.

Just Plain Bob

This movie is an adaptation of the superb Hong Kong film “Infernal Affairs” blended with elements of the story of Whitey Bulger, a crime lord in Boston in the 70s and 80s. Bulger, the basis for the Frank Costello character was, in fact, an FBI informant. They protected him for years while he extorted, assaulted and murdered his fellow Bostonians. Eventually, the FBI decided he’d become a liability and put him on their Top 10 Most Wanted. He was tipped off and fled for the west coast where he hid for more than a decade. Eventually, he was found and imprisoned until his death.

Mike the Ginger

Mark Wahlberg was amazing like everyone was, but he is such a cool badass. This is a really great movie. I laughed when Nanette was like "They went out!?" when she went on the date with Leo. I also recommend all of Martin Scorsese's films, some of which you have to watch for surprise or trick endings that make you wonder if the ending is real or not.
