Not related to ONK but i saw that you dropped The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity last week so i'm just curious what made you drop it? I want to start it at some point because lot of people LOVE the show and I know you love romance animes but looks like it's not THAT good as people say maybe?

yes I do love quite a few romance! some of my favorites (anime) would be Fruits Basket, Dress-up Darling, Nana and for manga Ouran High School Host Club, Kimi ni Todoke and Princess Jellyfish but these are various types of romance (some of them lean into supernatural, some are more comedy, or slice of life, and not all of them even have happy endings) so I do like variety. There was a reason I didn't post my last reaction ^^' my opinion is not a popular one (the show was voted "best show from 2025 that you did not see) and I didn't feel like defending very personal opinions so I hope no one will be mad at me for saying this (you can already find a multitude of positive reviews and thoughts online, so this is just a random different perspective since you asked) Although visually beautiful, a few of the characters and the show as a whole felt "vapid" to me. I've never used that word before my last reaction haha but somehow that's the word that came up. Maybe contrived would be better? maybe a bit of both. But more simply put, it felt superficial and I couldn't relate to the characters as believable human beings. If you're looking for a pure romance with cliche drama and misunderstandings that get cleared up in an unrealistic way (considering the show is about a bunch of high schoolers), I mean then you will for sure enjoy it. It's at least worth giving a shot! But you know that by the ratings and general reviews. I couldn't get past a certain point because the problematic *actions* of a character were skimmed over, while some of their *words* and feelings were romanticized . If she wasn't so pretty I don't think people would've been so quick to forgive her, but the viewer has no choice but to forgive her anyway because- well. You should just watch and decide for yourself XDDDD

I see. I can understand the main issue overall especially when "problematic *actions* of a character" is skimmed over. I had some experince with it in other animes but I give fair watch to see what's up. Thank you for sharing your thoughts without spoilers!
