"Healing of Bartimaeus."
Finn's voice carried clearly across the ruined capital. A gentle wave of golden light swept over Crocus. Wherever the light touched, miracles followed. Deep gashes sealed shut, heavy bruises faded into unblemished skin, and drained magical cores flared back to life at a speed visible to the naked eye.
A surging warmth flooded the bodies of the wounded, pulling them back from the brink of exhaustion and death.
In that moment, words failed everyone. They simply stared up at the sky, feeling as though absolute salvation had descended from the heavens—an archangel manifested to slay the apocalyptic beasts threatening to erase the world.
For those who had harbored ignorance, hatred, or resentment toward him, the miracle brought a crushing wave of shame. But for those who loved him, the display of divine power only deepened their obsessive devotion.
"Finn-sama..."
"Amazing..."
"AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
Ultear, Meredy, Sorano, Flare, Kagura, Minerva, and the battered remnants of Sabertooth stared up in absolute awe. They were overwhelmingly glad, fiercely proud to know that this was the man who would lead them, the one to whom they had entrusted their entire lives. Seeing him command such a godlike presence, they found it physically impossible to look away.
"What a showoff," Mirajane snorted.
While Lisanna was looking up with a dreamy, lovestruck expression, Mirajane crossed her arms, masking a complex flutter in her chest. She felt simultaneously helpless and deeply annoyed. Finn's Angel Soul was a holy manifestation, the exact opposite of her own Satan Soul, which drew upon pure demonic darkness. Yet, because they were polar opposites, his radiant holy aura irresistibly attracted her. A dark, twisted part of her mind suddenly wanted nothing more than to drag him down and completely tarnish that blinding purity.
"........"
Hovering high above the city, Finn remained perfectly silent.
"So, that is why Fairy Glitter was completely useless..." Mavis Vermillion murmured, staring at the twelve radiant wings unfolding against the night sky.
Take Over magic, absolute healing, illusions, peerless swordsmanship, spatial manipulation, and now divine light. Mavis let out a heavy sigh, genuinely wondering if there was a single thing in this world Finn couldn't do. Watching him command the battlefield, she finally accepted the bitter reality of why Fairy Tail had lost the Grand Magic Games. Was it ever even possible for them to win?
It was an unfair battle. Pitting Fairy Tail against Finn was like dropping a magicless peasant in front of a dragon.
Still, despite the sting of defeat, Mavis felt a wave of relief. She glanced at Erza, who was staring up at Finn in a complete daze. Mavis's eyes drifted briefly toward Bisca, who was clutching her daughter tightly in the crowd. Mavis hesitated, ultimately deciding to keep her thoughts to herself. Even as a ghost, the First Master understood the temptation he presented. Right now, she was just incredibly thankful he was on their side.
But as Finn's divine aura illuminated the city, the attention of the invading horde violently shifted toward him.
"Staring down at us from the sky, huh? Are you looking down on a dragon?!"
Zirconis, the Jade Dragon, roared furiously. Unlike the other beasts who had been reduced to mindless rampaging monsters by Future Rogue's lingering Dragon Supremacy magic, Zirconis retained fragments of his own consciousness. It was perfectly natural for an apex predator of his caliber to retain speech.
But holding onto his consciousness did not mean he retained control. Rogue's lingering magic artificially amplified his primal emotions. The sheer indignity of a tiny human hovering above him sparked a volcanic, uncontrollable rage.
"Jade Dragon's Roar!"
Zirconis opened his massive jaws, unleashing a concentrated, sweeping blast of jade-green energy directly at Finn.
Watching the incoming attack, Finn was left entirely speechless.
If it were any other dragon, Finn might have taken the attack seriously. But Finn had previously consumed Jade Dragon bones to acquire his own Slayer magic. He knew the exact properties of jade magic. Zirconis's breath didn't destroy flesh or shatter bone—it erased clothing.
The dragon wasn't trying to kill him; it was trying to strip him naked and turn the world's shining symbol of hope into a humiliating public joke.
Finn wasn't about to let that happen.
In a literal flash of light, Finn vanished. Before Zirconis could even register the movement, Finn materialized directly in front of the dragon's massive snout, his leg raised and shining with a blinding, condensed radiance.
"Have you ever been kicked at the speed of light?"
"Huh?"
Before Zirconis could process the words, the force of a localized meteor struck his jaw.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!
The earth ruptured as Zirconis was blasted out of the sky, crashing heavily into the bedrock. Its massive skull dragged through city blocks, tearing a jagged canyon through the streets.
Zirconis roared in a volatile mix of agonizing pain and absolute shame!
He was humiliated!
"HOW DARE YOU, BASTARD?!" Zirconis shrieked. How could a mere human look down on him and kick his head like a piece of trash?!
Driven completely mad by rage, Zirconis ignored the fact that the scales on his face were literally melting from the sheer friction and heat of the light-speed impact. He scrambled upward, opening his jaws to retaliate.
Finn completely ignored the beast's tantrum. Hovering above the crater, he raised a single hand and began to chant.
"Be gone, shadows."
"Huh?"
Finn's holy aura exploded outward. Down in the crater, Zirconis suddenly seized up, letting out a bloodcurdling shriek. The dragon felt as though his very blood had ignited into liquid fire.
"Thou of the unseeable. Fade back into oblivion. If of darkness, be returned to the immaterial."
"What is this?! What is this?! ARRRRRRGGGGGGGG!" Zirconis thrashed violently, tearing up the earth in a desperate panic.
"Ask not of me, my answer is clear. In my hand is light. Know that all is in this hand."
"Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop!"
Zirconis begged, his massive claws tearing at his own head. His internal organs were literally melting. It felt as though a giant hammer had shattered his skull and poured boiling holy water directly into his brain. He was weeping openly, tears of boiling steam evaporating off his melting scales.
"I am the truth of creation. In the face of all things, thy defeat is certain."
As the final words of the chant fell from Finn's lips, Zirconis's desperate pleas hitched in his throat. The massive beast stopped moving entirely, collapsing heavily into the molten crater.
Dead.
As they watched the effortless, absolute execution of their kin, the remaining ancient beasts completely froze.
For the very first time in their immortal existence, the invincible rulers of the ancient world felt an alien, paralyzing emotion grip their hearts.
Fear.
