Greetings all! Another flower from the herbalist's notebook has recently come into your custody, 3 new pages on Wanderer's Yarrow Root, describing its sourcing, preparation, a special tale, and its use in alchemy.
Wanderer's Yarrow Root - Pale reddish-colored short, knotted roots with a pungent, earthy smell. Bitter to the taste when fresh, when cooked properly they feel as a warm, comforting sensation and heal torn tissues faster. Various traveling herbalists hold the root in esteem as a reliable friend, hence the name.
"I remember the first time I met the Wanderer's Yarrow. I was sure that it was just a garden weed which grew on the edge of the road. So I set to work pulling it up bare-handed - and soon discovered the root was so entangled among the stones that after an hour's ripping about in the earth, I had more mud in my hair than on my boots.".
Lastly, when I did tear it proudly loose from the soil, the root itself was a ball of tangled threads - so intricate that it looked like a nest built by a drunken bird. When I brought it back to the village, the villagers' children started playing catch with it like a ball before I could tell it was actually a valuable alchemical substance!
Ever since then, I’ve always carried a small trowel with me."
Use with caution! It’s easy to abuse its wondrous properties!
