Hi everyone! I'd like to introduce you to another plant, this one a true symbol of the volcano itself. It'll ignite any potion, campfire, or even a person's sword.

"I remember the night I first spotted the Burning Orchid. At a distance, it looked like little more than a strange torch flung casually on a cliff face. I thought that some careless traveler must have wedged a lamp between the rocks.".

And so I climbed up the slope with nothing holding me but leather gloves and my usual misplaced assurance. As soon as I reached out, I discovered the 'lantern' was alive and kicking – its flowers blazed with heat, and the air around it rippled like a road on a summer's day. I yelped, pulled back my hand, and slid almost all the way down the cliff for my trouble.

When at last I took it – gingerly this time, with iron tongs – the Orchid radiated a heat so intense I could have sworn it exhaled a breath, as though I'd awakened it from rest. I was holding it in a glass vase, enjoying the pride of a knight with his booty. only to be stopped by the village blacksmith asking me if I'd taken one of his coals from his fire."
