2025 Retrospective & Plans for 2026 (Patreon)

Hi everyone, and happy New Year 2026! 🎉
A lot happened in 2025. Some good, some bad — but above all, a year full of changes, especially in the way Minecraft evolves. I wanted to take a moment to look back, and then share where I’m heading next.
Retrospective — 2025
This year, I more or less gave up on YouTube. Not because I wanted to, but because I lacked both time and hope. I’ve come to realize that I’m not really an “entertaining” YouTuber. I’m someone who enjoys teaching, sharing, and learning — and even if I like doing that, the numbers were clear: my videos weren’t working, and the situation wasn’t improving.
So I decided to stop and refocus on what I love the most: creating experiences through datapacks.
And honestly? I loved it.
At the very least, I finally had the time to properly update and maintain my projects. Two new projects were created this year: Morphic and Food Decay. Even though I personally think they’re great (very personal feeling 😄), they completely failed in terms of numbers. To this day, they’re actually my worst-performing projects ever. Ouch.
Later in the year, I also helped create four Minecraft events. The project was led by CaraRose, whom I had briefly met two years ago. I had already tested her Quest events and found them fantastic. This year, she needed help with some technical features — so I jumped in.
And boom. Three months later, we had published four unique, playable adventures set in fairy worlds.
And just like that… the year came to an end.
The dev side of 2025
From a technical point of view, this year was rough.Numerous “minor” Minecraft updates broke most datapacks — not to mention world generation and mods. There were many technical changes, new commands, new possibilities… which is promising for the future.
And yet, for a game as massive as Minecraft, it still feels extremely insufficient.Looking at things as a modder, games like Hytale feel far more promising in terms of creative freedom. How is it possible that, 15 years after Minecraft’s release, we still can’t create recipes using custom data as input? Or add a new block or tool through datapacks? These are basic features — and I could list dozens of similar limitations.
That said, this post isn’t here to complain.Minecraft is what it is: a playground for passionate people like us.
But all of this made me think.
I realized that if I want to discover new things and build new projects, I need time — or at least, I need to use my time better. And to do that, I have to let go of some projects to make room for new ideas.
Dropping some projects
Right now, I maintain 25 projects. Some are light, some are heavy. Some are popular, some are not. Some are purely nostalgic to me. Taking all of this into account, I had to make choices.
This list is not set in stone. It may evolve based on community feedback and future constraints.
Active projects
These are my priorities and will receive time and resources:
Better Vanilla Mobs (popular, update coming)
Gorify (popular)
RP Campfire (nostalgia)

Plans for 2026
I want to focus on full experiences, not just tools. When I say “I want to share experiences with players”, I realize most of my projects are only parts of an experience — not complete ones. So in 2026, I want to change that.
Here are the projects I hope to bring this year:
Combat Set (0%)New weapons and armors to support multiple playstyles, balanced for vanilla Minecraft and compatible with survival datapacks like Better Vanilla Mobs.
Ocean Only Worldgen (80% ready)A small side project for ocean lovers like me. I want to keep this lightweight and not over-invest time.
Sky Dreamers (90% ready)A Skyblock-like experience with teleport mechanics and a community-built starting spawn. This project was almost finished a year ago — it’s time to finally release it.
Progression Remade (0%)My own vision of Minecraft progression: crafting, recipes, regeneration, long-term status effects… This will likely serve as a foundation for future projects.
Deep White (60% ready)A cold mountain survival experience. This is one of my main goals for 2026 and a project I’m genuinely excited about.
Thanks 💛
Finally, a huge thank you to all my Patrons — including the free tiers.Thank you for your support, your trust, and your patience throughout the year. I’ll do my best to post more dev blogs in 2026 and share progress along the way (even if I’m still bad at online communication 😅).
I wish you all the best for the year ahead.See you soon.
