She was her skill. But Yuuki manipulated every one. In novel Yuuki was one of first villains who was defeated early in manga/anime they bring him really far.

What Yuuki meant was that his greed was greater then her greed so her skill wouldn't be able to control him. He was not the one that gave her the skill.

Fuse likes to improve his story every time it changes form, which is why I would consider the anime as the most canon version. It also means that people like me who read the original webnovel still get to experience the surprises and joy of seeing a new story, rather then just getting to see a story animated.

She told her grandfather that it was his willpower that made her not try to control him, I don't think we have any reason to believe that she lied.

I wouldn't say she totally overestimated her Power, but rather i'd say she just needed further information on different ¨Skill Classes¨(Normal, Extra, Unique & Ultimate Skills.) It's just because of the Fact Rimuru owned an Ultimate Skill, that made it impossible for Maribel to take his desire to live. So ¨Greed¨ IS an absurd overpowered Skill, but as said, ONLY in the Rank of Unique Skills. Also, Yuuki had to own a totally Broken Skill if he should hold onto the Role of Rimuru's ¨Nemesis¨; after all they've in fact been ¨fighting¨ alot until now - Not Physically, but more in a Strategically way. So Personally I don't have ANYTHING against him owning such an Overpowered skill, because Rimuru own Absurd skills aswell - Raphael & Beelzebuth. It had to be Balanced in some kind of way. You're right about ¨Absolute Defense¨ is a Skill, but since Yuuki didn't use his Body or Hands to hit Rimuru, then his ¨Anti-Skill¨ wouldn't activate itself; ¨Anti-Skill¨ is a Skill, that isn't able to have any Effects on it's opponent, if they're attacked by Tool-/Swords and that's why it didn't Damage, Rimuru at all. If he Attacked Rimuru by using his hands, then it WOULD have Damaged him.

Ohh wow I understand now about Yuki's skill! Thank you for the explanation because I didn't understand it before 🥰 And I see also about Mariabel, the rank of the skill matters and hers is only unique while Rimuru got ultimate!
