Hey everyone!

We haven't made an ancient world themed map in a while so we thought we'd attempt a Graeco-Roman bathhouse. We've taken liberties with the layout to make it more interesting to explore.

You can theme the different baths as healing springs or ways to give your players temporary bonuses or auras. Or use the map as a place to meet important senators or shady crime bosses, everyone corrupt likes to hang out at the bathhouse! You could even make this place more solemn and have an important meeting with a goddess like Hygieia.

Enjoy!

I guess my players are getting a bathhouse fanservice episode!!

Justin

This is amazing! Lovely to see a foray into Greco-Roman stuff. There's a campaign called Odyssey of the Dragonlords which is Greek-themed, and Theros also, so this is a very useful map for those. Do you think you might do more Greco-Roman stuff in the future?

Threyon

What’s the purple stuph in the lower left? Herbal bath?

Czepeku

Yeah some kind of herbal bath, you can theme it to give players effects or heal certain ailments.

Czepeku

If you haven't seen them, we've made quite a few Greco-Roman/Classical World themed maps in the past! Like Colossus Port, Medusa's Wake, Pharaoh's Tomb, Hanging Gardens, Minotaur Labyrinth, etc. In fact, a fan of Odyssey of the Dragonlords wrote a blog post about maps to pair with that campaign: https://www.czepeku.com/blog/10-useful-czepeku-maps-for-odyssey-of-the-dragonlords We will continue to make more in the future. :) Our goal is to cycle round different themes, some Classical, some Steampunk, some Asian, some as pure Wilderness, etc. If you have a specific Greco-Roman idea, come post it in #map-suggestions on our Discord!

Justin

Thanks! Yeah I spotted some of those maps but the Pharaoh's Tomb isn't Greco-Roman right? Thanks for the blog link :) I will submit some map ideas in the Discord then! Is there a place in the Patreon to submit ideas too?

Mickaël Leroux

Okay, this is perfectly accurate for an Ephara temple in odyssey of theros. I dont know if this is by luck, but the statue perfectly represent the godess of civilisation is theros. Nice work

Nerd: Pharoahs aren't Greco-Roman, but the Greeks and the Romans occupied Egypt for hundreds of years!

Justin

While that’s true, it doesn’t quite fit a Theros/Thylea/Greece campaign overall, unless the GM takes a detour from the main area the campaign is set.

so asking as someone with allergies to way too many red fruits and also not native speaker of english, could i say that the blood pool one is like strawberry jam? asking cos i have not seen it in years and not sure if jam is the right word. i mean i just have this image in my head of my players thinking it is blood and it turns out some kid spent a wish really silly and now there is just so much jam

Czepeku

Yeah, blackcurrent jam would work as a fun substitute for the blood. Or some kind of port/red wine.
