We review the 1986 animated movie The Great Mouse Detective! It's weird, it's sad, it's violent, it's horny??!! What the fuck is this movie? All we know is that it's probably not for kids! Watch it on Disney + if you like and enjoy our review!

I love my dark 80s/90s kids movies! Haha... but I guess it did seriously mess me up 😬

I had a rat that recently passed away that I named Ratigan after the villain in Great Mouse Detective. It's one of my favorite movies from when I was a kid 🤣

Erin's mouse name is Momo come on ^^

As someone who knew plenty of weird sad violent horny kids, let me say that there was certainly an audience for Hey Riddle Riddle. ...Oh, and this movie.

Melody Burgmann

Y’all are amazing. Thanks for the ep…Mother Gothel from Tangled doesn’t have an animal sidekick ;)

Zev Campbell

That raggedy Ann movie was horrific. Lots of SA-adjacent content that is super uncomfortable

Kuri

I have never seen this movie as an adult. I don’t think I want to see this movie as an adult.

Today I finally got ahold of a copy of The Quacks of Quedlinburg. Also, until today I assumed it featured anthropomorphic duck people.

This movie would’ve had a cult following if it wasn’t advertised toward kids. I watched this growing up countless times but i would second guess showing it to my child.

AusTin

I loved this movie so much as a kid that my first ever piece of creative writing, from around age 6, was a short story about a detective mouse (not the one from the movie, though, my own OC).

I don't like most adult animations but Archer is awesome. Great ep, would've loved this as a kid but maybe that says more about me. You should def review small soldiers (1998) next. Also i think Toby is the name of the dog Sherlock Holmes uses. And as well the mice at the start are for sure Scottish

Mark Rebec

Never saw this, but was into the Fievel movies, loved Chip n' Dale, and have seen/read some Sherlock Holmes stuff. I can just use a few strategic substances to blend those together in my mind and I should be good to proceed with the ep, right?

Mark Rebec

OK. ~10 mins in, where they're discussing how much they remember about this movie, and confirmed: I'm good to go!
