Chapter 29: Half a Year in a Blink (Patreon)
Content
In the blink of an eye, half a year had passed.
Goku finally reached the end of Snake Way.
Under King Kai's guidance, training in the tenfold gravity of King Kai's Planet, Goku threw himself into rigorous cultivation.
Goku's simple-hearted sincerity and sharp intuition won King Kai over completely, and the master passed down the full sum of his lifetime's techniques to him.
The Kaio-ken. The Spirit Bomb.
Meanwhile, back at Kami's Lookout, the others had all made tremendous progress.
Even so, after three years of training at Kami's Lookout, they'd only pushed their Power Levels into the 400s.
But after everyone had witnessed Raditz's power firsthand, their horizons had broadened, and their strength grew far faster.
Tien Shinhan and Krillin's Power Levels had both broken past a thousand — at the very least surpassing Raditz.
...
Three thousand kilometers beyond the western outskirts of West City.
A small villa stood by the sea.
The villa was actually a Capsule House; Oryon and Lunch had been living there for nearly a month now.
The evening sea breeze poured in through the window, carrying a salty tang, and the curtains rattled and fluttered.
Lunch had just stepped out of the bathroom, her long blue hair damp and clinging to her pale shoulders.
Droplets of water traced the curve of her collarbone before rolling down onto the full curves of her chest, glistening like crystal.
Barefoot, she left a faint trail of wet footprints across the wooden floor.
In the kitchen, a pot of mushroom seafood soup simmered, bubbling and steaming.
Oryon sat on the couch flipping through an old magazine; he looked up at the sound of footsteps.
Lunch strolled over unhurriedly, the towel barely covering her body, leaving her rounded hips and long legs on full display.
Her hair, though, was still soaking wet.
Oryon set the magazine down. "Why haven't you dried your hair?"
Lunch tilted her head, running her fingers through her damp hair, and smiled. "I was waiting for you to do it for me."
Oryon got up to fetch the hair dryer.
When he came back, Lunch was sitting on the floor, perfectly still and looking lazy, as if putting on a cute pout.
Lunch had never acted like this before — she used to think she didn't deserve it.
But after being with Oryon, she'd started learning how, because she loved the way he doted on her.
She looked up at him, bit her lip lightly, and swept a hand through her damp hair. "Dry my hair for me? I'm so tired..."
Oryon reached down and gave her cheek a gentle pinch.
"Sure. Serving Lunch is an honor..."
Warmth spread across Lunch's face, and she immediately straightened up, tilting her head toward him.
Oryon switched on the dryer, running his fingers through her wet hair, his warm fingertips gently massaging her scalp as he dried it strand by strand.
Lunch closed her eyes contentedly, savoring his tenderness, and answered him with a smile of her own.
A little while later, her hair was dry, smooth as silk, as if fresh out of a shampoo commercial, shimmering blue in the afternoon sun.
Oryon stroked her hair admiringly. "Such beautiful hair. It'd look even better in a ponytail."
Lunch smiled. "Then if I did twintails, would that make it twice as pretty?"
Oryon nodded. "And it'd suit you even better with a set of white stockings, don't you think?"
Lunch blinked, then laughed. "Wait right there, I'll go change..."
Moments later, Lunch reappeared in a maid outfit paired with white stockings.
"Master, your servant has come to attend you!"
Intimate moments like this had become an almost daily ritual for them.
Lunch was only human, and her blue-haired self had even more limited stamina than usual, so turning their intimacy into cultivation time meant getting creative from every angle.
"Oryon."
"Mm?"
"Bulma called today. She said the Gravity Chamber blueprints are finished, and construction starts next week."
Oryon toyed with one of her twintails. "Is that so? She's fast — building it in half a year..."
Lunch tipped her head back to look up at his face upside down, a faint smile playing at her lips. "Do you miss her?"
"Nope..."
Lunch turned around and sat on the bed, facing him.
"Well, I miss her. I want her to take me shopping around West City..."
"Then let's go find her."
Lunch asked, a little worried. "But isn't she busy building the Gravity Chamber? Won't that eat into her time?"
As she spoke, Lunch did the math. "There's only half a year left before the Saiyans reach Earth.
Your Power Level's grown fast these past six months, but it's been stuck around ten thousand for a while now. You need to break through soon.
Otherwise, if we can't beat the Saiyans, everything we've built together will be over."
Oryon took her hand in his and smiled. "Don't worry. If the sky falls, someone taller will catch it first.
Maybe I won't even need to lift a finger — Goku alone might handle them."
"Goku?" Lunch asked, puzzled.
"Wasn't his Power Level under a thousand when he left? Can he really grow that fast?"
Oryon nodded.
"He can. The gravity on King Kai's Planet is ten times Earth's.
And King Kai's teaching him secret techniques all his own.
By the time Goku comes back, his strength will have leapt whole tiers beyond where it is now..."
"Is that so!"
"Mm-hm!"
Suddenly Lunch looked at Oryon again, her expression heavy with guilt, and she leaned into his chest, wrapping her arms around his waist.
"I'm sorry. It's my fault you missed such a huge opportunity. If it weren't for me, you could've grown so much stronger..."
Oryon ruffled her smooth hair and laughed. "Silly girl, what's there to be sorry for?
Honestly, I never wanted to spend a whole miserable year grinding through training anyway — that's exactly why I stayed.
Compared to training on King Kai's Planet, you're the real opportunity for me!"
His comforting words warmed her all the more.
Lunch drew her hand back, rose to her feet, and cupped his cheek.
"Really?"
"Really!"
With that, she leaned in and kissed him first.
Her hand slid up around the back of his neck, fingers tangling into his hair, her body pressing against him without reservation.
The towel finally gave way, slipping silently onto the sheets.
Oryon's arms wrapped around her waist.
Lunch's skin still carried the bathroom's lingering warmth, smooth and scalding hot.
The embrace made her tip her head back slightly; her lips parted just a little, her breath quickening even as a smile lingered.
Oryon looked at her and grinned. "I'm getting a little hungry..."
"Hungry?"
Lunch glanced back toward the kitchen. "The mushroom soup isn't ready yet — those are blue-staining boletes in there.
Eat them too soon and people say you'll start seeing little men. Just hold out another half hour..."
Oryon lowered his head, his lips brushing her chin before trailing slowly down the side of her neck.
A shiver ran through Lunch, and her fingers tightened around his collar.
"Mmm, you really are hungry..."
Color rose to her cheeks.
"Lunch, seems like you've grown again..."
"Mm, yeah. Guess I've been eating a bit too much lately..."
Lunch looked down at him with a motherly smile. "You're not going to complain that I've gotten fat, are you?"
Oryon laughed. "Are you kidding? That's not fat, that's filling out. What's the phrase... round as pearls, smooth as jade..."
"Hee hee hee, look at you busting out idioms..." Lunch laughed, bright as a bell.
"Honestly, I'm not like Goku — I actually went to college, you know..."
Lunch giggled sweetly. "Oh, I can tell. You two aren't the same kind of person at all."
She smiled softly and lifted his head with doting tenderness.
"Oryon, you're wonderful!"
"You're better..."
