Just want to give a heads up, I was a bit critical in this one compared to eps 1 and 3, but I see potential in this show. I just finished watching ep 3 and that proved it for me. Anything I say in these shows are always my honest opinion which is what I like to express. Thanks all <3

Never worry about giving your opinion, it’s a reaction channel after all. I also really don’t like that dynamic and we see it a lot in BL’s like you say. I did nearly drop this drama at this episode but I was glad I kept watching. It certainly does have its issues but I think what most of us love is BossNeoul themselves. They are a great pairing, at least for me, and they defo deserve better shows and writing. Even if you end up not loving the show overall, I really feel you’ll come away understanding why so many people love BossNeoul together

And I've never understood why Payu's lip is bleeding in that scene and I've watched this show more than once lol

Jessica Danowski

Fun fact the part where rain is hiding behind the columns at uni and sky starts talking to him in the high squeaky voice was all improvised and they liked it and left it in the show. You should also watch a video about how BossNouel were paired it’s kinda cool. Boss was waiting to audition for LITA and Nouel came out of the casting room as he’d already been chosen to play rain. Nouel sat down and started talking to Boss because he was alone and they clicked instantly and exchanged phone numbers. They say the meeting felt like fate.

Jessica Danowski

I think it’s implying that Rain is inexperienced and bit him.

Jessica Danowski

I 100% appreciate your transparency with your feelings about certain scenes. I will say you may want to watch through IQIYI for future episodes if you can because I believe things get cut out of the YouTube version.

Oh thank you, I've always wondered and that makes so much sense lol

CSLeipzig

Exactly! There's no need to sugarcoat anything.

CSLeipzig

"Payu's House" is a well-known location in Thai bls. You probably last saw it in The Next Prince. Prince Calvin stayed there during his time in Emmaly.

Jessica Danowski

You bet I’ve seen this so many times and that’s the only reason I could come up with. Lol

CSLeipzig

I agree with everything you said about this episode. My question: Why do we view Chi Cheng's behavior towards Wu So Wei, or even Hua Yong's evil scheming in "ABO Desire," so much less critically? We call it "mischief" or "shenanigans" and can laugh about it. I don't quite understand why it seems so different.

KatyBeth

For me, I think it's Rain's dramatic naivete and almost childish innocent behaviour that makes Phayu's behaviour seem a bit more unsettling then in the other cases. It's also why I prefer The Boy Next World to LITA. Both good shows but TBNW balances the dynamic better for me.

Yes, this is a much more nuanced conversation than I can give here but it is an interesting point to raise. There are some very dark moments both in ABO Desire and Revenged Love, and Chi Cheng's behaviour also pushes the line at times. I can't say I was comfortable with that either. I think the chemistry and levity of the rest of the show took over which kind of dampened the rest of it. And I'm not saying that's necessarily a good thing.

I totally get why you feel the way you do about this episode. I was a bit irritated at first too but my view changed after watching the full series. I agree with what you said in the aspect of Phayu enjoying asserting dominance, but I really think one of the reasons he behaves the way he does is because of Rains "positive" reactions to it. I feel like he had a hunch early on that Rain is attracted to him (at least on some level) by his comment and behavior when they first met. I think he wants to make sure that rain is into the "power play" cause not everyone enjoys that before getting into anything. But as we clearly saw this episode, while Rain definitely is confused about his sexuality and reaction to Phayu he's definitely getting turned on by what's happening. I sincerely believe that Phayu would have stopped if he hadn't gotten the reaction he did. And about the house: it it's one that appears in quite a few shows. One I know youd definitely watched is "between us", it's Hia Win's home in that too

CSLeipzig

As for Omegaverse, I think that dominant behavior is more readily accepted here because it is equated with animal behavior, and animals do not have to follow humanitarian rules.

Suzanne Austen

Phayu for sure would have stopped if Rain truely didn't want to and if you noticed in the bathroom scene when hes doing that, his mouth never really touches Rain. I think this episode seems a certain way but after seeing the whole series and what phayu and rain are really like and into (sexually and just in their life in general), sort of changes peoples perspectives on this scene

Vera

I don't understand people who watch reaction videos but then can't handle their shows being politely criticized :/ Seeing other people's opinions is like half of the fun! Besides i think everything you said here is very valid. I had those thoughts myself when i was watching it. Rain and Phayu's dynamic gets better the more you watch, but you have to get through those first iffy episodes (i still think that writes could have done some things differently tho). This show has very "2019 bl" vibes and unfortunately some of the things those old BLs are criticized for also apply to love in the air.

Don't forget that there is a scene at the very end of the episodes...they're always relevant

Solace

Omg I missed it for eps 2 and 3. Let me add them to my ep 4 reaction sorry!

Solace

OOh ok yes that makes sense ahha!

Solace

I want to but It's not available for me :( even when I try a VPN.

Solace

I think Jessica is right here!

Solace

Thank you Kat I really appreciate that! I really genuinely enjoyed episode 3, definitely the best episode so far :)

Solace

So I actually was quite uncomfortable with a lot of what Chi Cheng was doing in the earlier episodes. I am glad we did see a character progression for him, though because we truly saw just how good he took care of Wu Su Wei. With ABO Desire I personally was more uncomfortable by the "NC" scene by both couples. Neither were necessarily consensual, even though the lines blur a bit because it's "omegaverse." It still made me a bit uncomfortable.

Jessica Danowski

I couldnt remember which service it was. Can you do viki?

Solace

Yeah I get this i really do, It's more just we could tell he was uncomfortable in the first episode. It's just slightly problematic to me, not enough for me to completely turn off the series. I just watched episode 3 and loved every bit of it.

Solace

That house is in so many haha. But yeah thanks for explaining. I loved episode 3 so i promise that one is a lot more positive!

Solace

Yess episode 3 was by far the best one so far!! I think the actors are doing fantastic so it's just some questionable writer choices but a lot of people have been respectful with my opinion thankfully!

@solace did the link I sent you on the Google drive work

It’s nice to hear your ‘real’ thoughts and opinions as you watch, thanks for sharing with us. I also thought they could have cut quite a few of the race scenes / set-up since it’s shown for the second time and these are exactly the same as in the first episode. For me, the scene with Payu and Rain in the bathroom is not so much an issue though it is dubious when it comes to consent but we also see that Rain is turned on by it in the end, that explains why he is not opposing much resistance. I guess he wants it (as in he’s attracted to Payu but he hates that since he wants to dislike the guy, and he doesn’t like the fact that he enjoys being dominated). I think it boils down to the maturity of both characters and on that front there is a huge gap. Payu leans into it as he seems to enjoy the power play and the dominance, which is more impactful as he toys with someone more innocent. All in all though Rain comes across as bratty and rude at the start of the story (especially for Thai standards and how to behave with seniors etc I think) and he has it coming (as in he’s being put back in his place by someone more senior in age and experience.) The chemistry between Boss and Noeul is great and as they interact more and not only clash with each other, it gets better.

Solace

I do feel like I was a tad bit more critical than intended in this reaction ahha but yeah episode 3 is a lot better 100%!

IsabelleRSG

It’s ok, it was your real guts feeling reaction at the time you watched, that’s authentic 😊

Shawna

This is one of my comfort shows.

Shawna

There's also the Japanese version of Love in the air.

Joanna -_-

your opinions are so real. I feel exactly the same way about those scenes
