So, based on all the feedback, I'm going to add two more. Based on one thing, the age, and card, I agree that there's something lacking in the previous ones. So, although I might still use one of the others because in the end the impossible thing is that people see it, click it and then read it :)So, same question! Red, blue? Also, are these better or worse than the previous ones?(For the blue- I know the flame in his hands isn't very super, but before putting another 4 evenings in polish, I'm trying to get some general direction. :)

I prefer the red picture

I like both of these much better for book one that the last two. I think the blue color is cool but I think the design of the red one fit more when where he starts in the book. No anvil, no money, not healthy just the card and a little hope.

I can't give a stamp of approval to the hair in the first picture. So, the second one. I have one change request though: I don't see a reason for fire and card to be in the exact same space together.

Slotz

I liked all 4 covers to be honest. Great stuff.

Before offering any criticism, let me just say, I think both of them are vastly better than the previously shared covers. Both in terms of accuracy regarding his position in book 1 as well as gathering interest, at least for me. For the pictures themselves: I like the red one much better, his clothes and general state of uncleanliness, etc. fit the described circumstances really well, while Irwin just looks ragged and deranged in the blue one. However, why is the card burning? The flame is nice, the card is good, but he has two hands or just have the card glow on the back of his hand or something, don‘t burn it down ;)

Well, mostly because ai is hard to work with, ;) But Im not opossed evwn if its not 100% correct because sometimes its important for things to look cool

Robert Connolly

I think the Red cover is great and would be my no question favorite of the 4. I personally think the burning card fits really well, especially for a cover which should be eye catching. Plus it gives a focal point to the art. Overall some cool concepts though!

Flusspferd

Yeah, I get that. Realistically speaking, the red one is really good. Me nitpicking on it doesn't change that one bit.

Carrarn

I really like the red one to, but without all of your nitpicking I might not have spend another day wrangling with ai and photoshop :) so im very gratefull forball feedback

The red picture

Masc

I like the red one

Gustavo Claude

The red one! But the flame effect on the card could get some improvement

derek sande

The red one is my favorite of these two. I think it really fits well and it takes me back to when I first started reading the series and he received his card from his brother and just figured out when he could see in the dark, that his card was more than the common card he first believed it to be. I like it alot and think it matches the theme of the first part of his journey well.

Hazior

Red I like more. Blue seems more targeted to younger crowds tho.

edward hannigan

this is better than the last; if you commission it my suggestions are you should experiment with a chiselled book number and use the in-book card description because if the card on the cover is different it doesn't really matter but I noticed it.

Carrarn

What do you mean by a chiseled book number? O_o Also, it's sadly not commissioned. That is still way out of my price bracket. Perhaps if this one does really well.

Steven Thompsen

I agree with this guy these are way better than before and red is still better :)

lessar59

Red for me as well. Hair is too crazy in the blue one imo.

Stephen Pearson

Red; the blue (while also very cool) seems to indicate an edgier personality than Irwin has, and you don't want folks who want to avoid that to skip your book, nor for those who are looking for that edginess to not get what they were expecting. The red by contrast to me captures the feel really well while still being awesome:-)

Astrael

Red one :) it looks the best out of those four and is the most accurate storywise.

Carrarn

Good to hear, as that was the one we eventually went with :) It's the official cover for The Cardsmith book 1 :)
