Octavia MacIsaac

I reloaded the page so quickly. Now how much can I listen to before the live listen 😂

Daniel Bryn

I talk a lot and have a huge beard, I could also be Harry Hugemouth

AIELIF

Appreciate the long episode!

Matty Major

YES. Another girthy episode this fine Tuesday.

Monkeytoster

I can't wait to find out how they kill Jenkins.

Parker Slayden

This is just what I needed to listen to while I kill these weird outsiders to my steampunk society

Max Lavallee

Damn I’m early. Just what I need to get through the work day.

Beth Martin

You guys just wear overalls it’s fun! My bf wears the carhartt ones and he’s hot as hell in them. I have some silk overalls that unfortunately have some osh kosh bgosh vibes but who doesn’t feel like a toddler sometimes

Margo Rubero

Loved the Soda Jerk lingo fact. The steak one was great - my grandfather used to say "Just take the moo out" for his rare steak orders haha.

LavaQ

HELL YEA day just got much better

A very sexy wheel on a pile

omg that's a deep pull lol I wouldn't recognize that one if it wasn't for my relisten of s1

Maladapted

PLEASE DO AN OVER THE GARDEN WALL 1 SHOT

Ethan

Francis is a psycho

Hayden Daniels

Jenkins is going to roll to dodge. Freddy, "really?".

ADoubleEgg

Man. They really derailed Will's plans. Good on him for rolling with it

BJ Higgins

No alpha composer ?!?! What about Wolfgang Alphadeus Mozart

Walker

Now that I'm DMing my own campaign I fully understand that you can never actually plan for what the players will do, I feel your pain Will. I guess I'll have to wait and see if my npcs are as hated as Jenkins was!

cozyoak_

The "bigger on the inside" comment and the timey wimey references had My Whovian ass kicking and giggling

King Anvl

As matt was talking about trying to teach english to the Bigfoots, i was thinking of Bunny the Dog and how shes learning english and how to form/understand words and sentences

Maia Woods

exit, pursued by an electro spider bigfoot

Tim Roberts

Matt really going wild with the bulldozer lately. :/

Bearonavirus

Anthony's murderhobo Odyssey continues

Heartland Animation

Exasperation, huh? lol I’m not sure what I would do in this situation cause I’d love to see the thing a bit what if my character got killed

Xander Mani

Living for Anthony’s OTGW shoutout

shinkugarasu

Francis, just popping off on everybody. Made my day. Everyone is so funny but having Anthony just yelling at everybody is the greatest thing!

Liv

damn Esther really cooked with that cinematic soundscape near the end

lukekinn

Trudy is a great musician because she knows her way around a keyboard

Daniel Roberts

Thank you beth may. Shitty week instantly destroyed by " whos this giant toddler!"

Claire

As a high school teacher, Matt’s Kelsey intro this week was so relatable.

Joshua Morales

I'm sorry but wanted they have flooded the whole bunker if the civilization was in the Jetson era. Since wouldn't the whole flying machines/ zeppelin be close to the sky???

Namedafterabook

I got a small cylinder stuck in a keyhole and need help getting it out - any tips? Note: the small cylinder is attached to a larger cylinder and cannot be removed from it

Tannictor

Hahaha what an intro that fucking mummy thing!?!?!

Tannictor

Sounds like anthony did an hey riddle riddle segment for his intro.

Ralph

Matt Arnold has an unmatched, “Mess with Will,” energy this episode. I love that Anthony passed him the, “Fuck with Will,” torch.

Awesome St. John's

I wish I had the confidence to wear overalls. Waiting for them to be an acceptable clothing choice

LarryLarryLarry

I'm sorry, but Anthony's "kid with a gun" character just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Especially after the school shooting in Madison Wisconsin or how common these shootings occur. I still love the podcast though.

Brady Johnson

Just came here to say as someone who really liked season 2 but knows season 1 was better; you guys have recaptured the magic

Nathan Rodriguez

I totally forgot why they were even doing this until they mentioned the fucking key lmao

Kacey

Players aren’t supposed to be actively antagonistic toward the DM & their plans. It works for this podcast (kinda), but it is NOT the standard for most real life TTRPG groups. Just wanted to put that out there. Idk how Will has survived these past two painfully boring episodes. Boring all bc it’s sooooo “funny” to do nothing the DM plans. 😒

MikeBellZombie

Listener Question. What was one of your favorite early flash animations?

Daniel Roberts

Agreed. I feel like will needs his big boy pants a little bit more. Its hysterical but I'd like a little more " hold my beer" energy

Gigi

Was feeling a bit the same the past 2 episodes i was like okay yall just have to “yes and” the world building like what is he supposed to do when you just pick apart every single thing he says. i know they’re all friends and like to fuck with eachother but at a certain point it really just seemed mean

lovo

This episode was magical

Kacey

As a DM myself, I would feel so hurt if my players went absolutely out of their way to not do anything I’ve put work into. I get it’s a “theme” with this podcast, haha jokes funny, but it feels like this season is turning into just “fuck Will’s plans” and the story itself is taking a backseat to the trolling. Idk, these past two eps were just so hard to listen to. I could find reasons to love everything else they’ve done but if the season continues this way, I won’t be able to stick around.

DilfTheUnruly

“You clogged the toilet with Jenkins” made me huff out of my nose so hard.

DilfTheUnruly

“I can’t afford a yeast infection right now” next t shirt

Julie Pardoe

I swear I cry laughing every episode of season 3

Sky

Honestly it’s not just been the last two imo, but nearly the whole season. The entire group has been very antagonistic towards eachother’s characters and Will. It has swung from some really interesting points like with Trudy, to Francis shooting an NPC in cold blood to seemingly just spite Will. Really hope they course correct because it does get incredibly boring and frustrating to hear them just spin their wheels to screw over the DM.

George

I love the over 1 hour episode

George

No, I'm serious, I like all the time for lore drops

Hashtaggles

Redvines are horrible and no one can change my mind.

Moss C Birch

Few things in this life have delighted me quite like the intro to this episode. I push that mummy voice research video on new people every chance I get and laugh way too hard every time 😅🤣

Danel

,

Ida Juva

Yeeahh I had to read the comments to know I'm not alone, I thought I'd never get bored of these guys' antics but man it's uncomfortably clear they don't give a fuck about Will's game... Never yes anding isn't even impro comedy, people just trying to outwit each other doesn't make a fun story :/

Mr. N. Hacksaw

I thought "Freddy sounds like Jason Funderberker" a split-second before Anthony said it. I never felt so connected.

Mr. N. Hacksaw

I mean, that moment when Anthony asked if the Bigfeet would just have evolved into a "culture where everything is guns" if Francis had given them his rifle instead of the sci-fi apparatus? I have to admit that my European mind went automatically: "Oh, you mean like the US in 2024?" Which is to say that yeah, I get your point -- I guess that Anthony knows what he is doing, but I often feel a bit uncomfortable around Francis, too.

DjTravioli

They use bigfoot letters was both entirely dumb and perfectly hilarious..

Richard Mulholland

Have to agree, a good 30-40mins of that episode could of been cut, and if the had gone and done the steam punk world it would of been far more interesting

Bex Boster

Poor Will lol I've never seen someone bullied more in this podcast

Gabbe Hårshagen

Ngl Anthony is a pretty shitty player, good DM though!

Gabbe Hårshagen

Like the things he says and does doesnt make any sense for a kid

Marlowe Holmes

I don't think I could survive having Anthony and Matt as my players.

Noah Fields

Yes and what really annoyed me is that the first time Francis shot somebody it was a huge character moment, and this time noooooobody even reacted at all.

Noah Fields

Like I know it's a comedy podcast but its not ONLY comedy. Could you imagine if that happened in movie?

Kacey

I think Will forgot that railroading is necessary sometimes, esp when your players are making it clear they want to give you a hard time.

corpsehoarder

I love yall but I agree with the others about steamrolling Will. He has a really interesting story planned put and it seems like any time he tries to move forward the characters just talk over and ignore him:/ I get that's part of the fun but it gets to a point where the story is stagnant and it sucks to think all the work and world building he did was for nothing. I think Will needs to be a little meaner tbh and just say no to the dumb ideas once in a while so they stay on course.

corpsehoarder

Not to make it sound like it's Wills fault though, the others should also be considerate of their friend & the work they put into something for them. From 41:00 to 44:00 they interrupted or talked over Will 10 times. I'm just saying, I'd be pretty upset if it were me

Rargona

They all need to get on the same page. In previous seasons Anthony could set up a ‘mini game’ for the episode and everyone was generally okay with going along with that. The only time that’s really worked this season was the boxing match which was great. Is this a game where Will can present them with a ruleset or is this just comedy antics with an ever diminishing eldritch presence? Either is fine but something needs to be picked.

corpsehoarder

Agree. The whole thing is iffy and weird but the first time he was a least a bit remorseful and showed some actual personality but the character has just evolved into school shooter and not only is it not really funny, it's just bad for the story. None of the characters give a shit that hes killing people and that doesn't feel at all genuine to their personalities from the first few episodes. He either needs to have some major character development or they need to scrap the character all together cause the psychopath trope doesn't fit. I'm usually fine with "edgy" shit but even I think it's in bad taste. I dont think they should play underage characters in general either.

BajaBlast

Does anyone else feel like the theme song is now actually about Amy Adams Bigfoot? All she can see is a hole in the stars, swallowing her dreams, and (eventually) making them scars? And then she is the one that stays. Never forget her sacrifice 🫡

Jaime Timesamillion

Literally blocking every dipshit that feels the need to post negativity in these comment sections. If you have a low opinion of anyone on this show or anything they do block me too.

Ilana Galpert

This has been driving me crazy for three episodes. You could teach them how to read if you include pictures, but they won't know how to pronounce anything! You can't learn pronunciation without hearing it!

Connor Paisley

I feel like they should have at least rolled sanity for Francis just killing an npc in cold blood plus having the corpse just lying around

DilfTheUnruly

Because of that and the straight “no butting” this felt more like a live show than Call of Cthulhu.

Jazz and Bren

Ahh, another speech & language person! I feel you! My sincere love for these chucklefucks is the thing that got me through.

Milk Man

Seems parasocial man you're allowed to critique things

Diana

Yeah, this episode left a bad taste in my mouth. We're missing out on so much world building because the cast is too busy being contrary. I'm going to take a break from the podcast for awhile.

FreshPrinceOfBenHare

Tell that to Anthony’s all knowing whale at daddies HQ 🤣

Ralph

None at all. Especially if he’s not late teens

petra

well I for one had fun !! so much love and appreciation for the work you all do & looking forward to more laughter in the new year !! <3

Joe F

Damn you. I hate cliff hangers and you got me with what’s gonna happen to the kid!

Kacey

He’s trying but there are two water hoses pointed right at the fire.

GnarlyRat

She seemed to have caused the tunnel to collapse after the water flowed into the civilization for a little bit

Invader Jimm

At best they would be able to read English, but there is nothing to tell them what the letters would sound like?

Diana

It feels like they're trying to speed run the story and be done with it. Anthony even said at one point that he didn't care about Timmy because 'nothing was going to happen to him'.

Diana

Same. I would have ended the game as soon as I realized how much they didn't care.

ChamorroJesus671

She doesn't care enough about ttrpg to play well let alone be the gamemaster. She's super entertaining, but she knows jack shiz about actual gameplay. Imo

ChamorroJesus671

What's up with the blatant disrespect for Will as a DM? I for one enjoy the story, and it feels like so much was overlooked/wasted due to some people straight being dicks. It's funny at times, but it really messes up the continuity. I fear that it's too far gone, because of the purposeful cluster fudge. Like shut your face for one minute while Willy is trying to set this thing on track. Jeez.

Nanowow

Definitely felt like one of the less coherent episodes but still had fun!

Erika Auglis

YES!!! That was my literal first thought after the episode!!

Risotto

Sad we didn't get to experience the big foot society :((

DanDeLion

There is critiquing and there's being mean

Dominic Mitchell

Yea I know I remember in season one Beth kindve did for a little bit and it was hilarious

Risotto

I've always thought matt's really funny, has great comedic timing and ideas that fit the narrative & move the story forward! But these last episodes he's been taking up most of the space imo, cutting people off, talking over them.. Generally the vibe between the characters and DM the last episodes felt too aggressive for me. The story seems so interesting! but sadly it's just been too exhausting to listen all the way through

Shannon

I CACKLED during the poem writing. 🤣

Lula Hiigel

If next episode’s opening doesn’t feature “On the Nature of Daylight”, I’m going to be very disappointed. Also, while I do agree with people’s sympathies toward Will’s DM’ing being trampled by the players, how things ended up playing out was very fun.

Jimmy Place

Sometimes Anthony gets very close to Mickey Mouse and I’m loving it

ShannyKrik

I totally agree. Its kinda turning me off to this season at how rude they are to Will. I know he has some cool stuff to say, but they keep interrupting him. I feel like they shut each other down a lot more. When someone’s about to to say an idea, the other people just argue and don’t let them speak. I want to listen, but I dont look forward to it anymore

ShannyKrik

Fun elements to the episode. But still felt like yet again not engaging with the story, and shutting down Freddy and Will. Not only did they insist on not engaging with Will’s world, but went a step further to bash it. Kept fussing about how stupid his world was. I love when y’all collaborate and riff. This feels like steaming rolling the DM and players. Hard to hear :(

ShannyKrik

Completely agree. Makes me want to join the higher tear just to get on the discord and fuss about it. It’s not collaborative, respectful, and it’s definitely not fun to listen to.

Zachary Lucero

I usually don’t comment but I agree with others on here, I’m finding this season less enjoyable solely because they’re not letting Will cook. There’s been a couple of times you see him setting something up and the vibe is ruined for a cheap laugh or derailed because it’s something they don’t like. Hopefully it’s just a hiccup and you guys can get it together.

Clare de Lune

it is kinda hard hearing will get repeatedly shut down

Rumple Blumpkins

So many plot threads and characters have been dropped since the first few episodes. There’s funny bits but ever since the third episode this season has been nothing but a shambling mess of loosely connected non-sequiturs. There’s no real story to follow. No real character development. I’m not sure if it’s the groups’ success but it feels like they think they’re being funnier and more original than they actually are.

Clare de Lune

its like do they wanna play the game and in the space, or do they wanna just want will to just say everything they do works. idk, i dont mean to be negative but this just reminds me of bad experiences

Kelsey Reyer

This was a rough episode to get through. Like I get they like being funny but this felt painful how often they just shut down everything Will was trying to do as GM. As a long time fan we love the gags but ultimately we are here for the plot development.

Hashtaggles

Naw dog I’m over eating packs upon packs of Twizzlers.

liam morin

i think will shouldve pulled the same kinda move anthony did in season 1 with the tower of terry (among other things) where he’s like youre doing my dungeon anyways and creates some in universe reason that forces the characters (who have no reason to go into the tower if they dont have to) to interact with the world. idk how will couldve done that here, but at the beginning maybe if he couldve created some in universe reason to make them go out into the steampunk world instead of being stuck in the room

liam morin

yeah will is a total champ

Austin Zearfoss

I fucking love these long episodes! Except there is so much story and no player wants to really do any of it. Hope Will gets harder and make consequences feel more real

Stephen

Will, I feel for you buddy 😂💚

Jasper Hulme

this is my favourite season so far because of the story so i really hope they let Will cook and that he brings a lot of the stuff the party has dismissed (like that kid's eyeballs??) back to bite them. I agree with folks saying it can be hard to hear Will getting shut down especially when it's a story I'm into and want to see progress. The show will always be funny, these are funny people, but it's the gut punch story moments that keep me coming back for more.

RAB27

As long as its constructive criticism i see no problem with it. You're allowed to have an opinion about something you pay money to support.

Kacey

No point in going to discord. It’s full of yes men who only want to get noticed lol. They don’t really do constructive criticism there.

Blake and Bailey

As a fellow Blake, I feel personally attacked on behalf of Mr. Lively.

MainelyBert

I miss Milton😥😂 Still my favorite podcast and can't wait to see what happens next!

ChamorroJesus671

Sucks when this is literally one of the best podcasts ever. They know we love them, but we should feel comfy enough in this community to give some tough feedbacks yo.

Connor

So I see a lot of comments here about interrupting Will and how they are going against him and how this episode could have been shorter, and I agree partially, but I think the main thing is that in the past they would edit the bickering between friends out and now they have been leaving it in more which I find hilarious , but If someone with higher privileges than me who listens to the unedited episodes let me know if my suspicion is true?

Kacey

The responses were essentially “we’re not here for all that; we just want to listen to some rowdy boys have fun”

Walker

I'm really curious just how much Will had planned for this steampunk city before the plans were completely derailed. Will, if you see this were you expecting them to do something like this? How much of this ended up having to be improvised?

Rowan Scott

Listener Q: what are your guys’ favorite stories in the cosmic horror genre? (movies, tv, books, comics, etc.) the more i consume of this genre, the more i love it! but quality recommendations can be hard to find. thanks!

pie

the problem with this episode is twofold: this scenario gives too much freedom. it was ambitious, but very difficult to resolve in a satisfying way. it removes the opportunity for memorable named characters. probably best for a game that’s not a show! from one GM to another, respect on the effort. the second and by far the biggest problem with the episode was the players. seems like y’all forgot you were recording a show that has a narrative for a couple episodes! i’m all for derailing the GMs plans in a normal game but y’all made the media you produced worse even if you took the most logical route. Will deserves more grace as a newer GM. beyond that, attempts at serious roleplay went out the window pretty damn hard to the point trudy forgot about her damn child! in danger! tldr a combination of an over ambitious but fun narrative and a cast that seemingly forgot they were trying to construct a narrative together brought this episode crashing down. will, don’t be afraid to railroad a little. everyone else, give will a chance to railroad a little. the path through the mountain pass looks faster but it took a lot of blood and sweat to build that railroad tunnel and you’ll feel better on the other side.

pie

also, not to be weird and parasocial but having listened to every episode of story break: will, i know you like to find something redeemable in everyone, even evil characters you make. that’s a wonderful trait! don’t make a genocidal piece of shit nazi guy and rely on him as your sole source of exposition. my group would have had him tied up in a closet so quick lol

Natalie Rose

I mean Will didn’t make him a nazi, Anthony made the connection to project paperclip and Will said no. I’m pretty sure he said himself he was raised in Peachyville, too. If his beliefs skewed in that direction, we really didn’t get to know him enough to find out.

Jaime Timesamillion

They're not their patrons' students and don't need their critiques. Make your own ttrpg podcast if you think you know how to do it more successfully.

Ilana Galpert

Dude this is what I've been saying!!!

Ilana Galpert

There are systems that are mechanically simpler though, like kids on bikes. She might be less interested in engaging with mechanics but I bet she tells a killer story

SatinPistol

Anybody remember that Milton is probably still kidnapped and eyeless and the only person on the case is a thirteen year old lol.

Deshor

Loved the episode!

Ralph

Yes! And was he the muffled noises in last episodes intro? They didn’t address the intro on The Peach Pit. I need these things answered lol

Clove

This was such an interesting and entertaining episode, I couldn’t multitask while I listened because I was so invested (a good thing!) thanks for making this yall, such a good season

pie

it’s hyperbolic, but dude had committed multiple genocides lol if not a literal nazi, a fascist presented to a bunch of ostensible leftists as an ally

Nexus Coffey

Hate to be that guy, but Im finally caught up! I cant wait to see what happens

Nya M Snowden

I'm scrolling through the comments at about 70mins in because of this feeling. It feels like a round about of time shenanigans and not much actual development.

kt

Hearing “civilization” so much I was in pain remembering the Minecraft parkour civilization

Matthew

I agree with much of this. The listener paid the price this episode. You guys spent so much time trying to mess with Will's plans - instead of a cool museum aside or whatever else Will mentioned, we got almost two full episodes of arguing in a single room trying to get a key. Its not to say it wasn't entertaining, but the pacing of this season has screeched to a halt in favor of arguing over trying to avoid doing stuff.

pie

yeah i think i only made a comment on this one because it was like, glaring. i’ve really enjoyed every single other episode of this season including the beginning of this arc!

Shorty Ireland

Will, you are an absolute gem and you would look so good in overalls!

Richard Trauma

Seeing some points I don’t necessarily agree with. It felt very 50’s sci-fi and Will shot for the moon. Much more ambitious than most of us

Kaiberly Cournoyer-Rowland

I HAVE forced friends to listen to this on road trips!!! LOVE YOU GUYS! Congrats on 5 years!!!!!!!!!

Byl

Hey Anthony, any chance Francis' pen name is Danielle Devour that he used to write a fan fic psuedo-biography titled "Bigfoot threw rocks at me (so I f*cked it)"? Just wondering...

pie

yeah i’m more talking about the reaction of the group than the story there. hate-able characters are bad exposition. happened with my group when i was a player in my friends Alien game. the Weyland-Yutani corporate guy was soooo hateable because of my GM’s roleplay and we had basically the same situation as this episode! ended up with him ass beat in a closet unable to contribute in the way my GM wanted him to. he was the only person to escape tho lmao. my friend read the whole ripley monologue from the end of alien but replaced the names and locations with this fuuuucking asshole. had us screaming from the grave at the end lmao

TheHolycarl

These past episodes have been so bad that i can’t justify paying for the patreon, untill something changes. The DM’ing sets up too open ended scenarios, but then clearly assumes a very specific course of action from the players. The players (Matt and Anthony) constantly interrupt and spend 80% of the episode bickering and avoiding interacting with the world, assuming any far fetched idea to be accepted and work out.

Taco Dragons

This is harsh but not overly wrong. It reminds me of season 1 when they got very stalled. This at least is moving forward.

Cody Lewin

Is this the warning symbol from faster than light?

Anthony Roberto

I got overalls for Christmas and I gotta say they're comfortable and a great move will!

Sadie Rae

i have no idea whats going on anymore

Shane Murphy

Y'all need to cool your jets, this season is great! I personally don't hate the episodes where they 'just talk' ... not sure if you folks are familiar with PODCASTING!

Scrumbly Bumkis

It's getting hard to listen sometimes. I love all these guys work but in an earlier peach pit Freddy stated their problem is that they don't really respect each other at the table. It's become more and more evident with the constant talking over each other and not really going along with whoever being the game master. It's making it more infuriating that they'd rather bicker and derail plans than trust the process and road in front of them. I know it's a collaborative story but it's getting a little ridiculous. That said those antics in the shorter form content is great for that stuff where it doesn't really matter but for a longer story trying to be weaved, I'll pass. I wish them the best but I don't think this is the podcast for me anymore.

Logan MacNeill

He also has shown that he just doesn't care for Will's DM'ing (playing on his steam deck, sighing at exposition), I hope things improve soon.

Ian Francis

You’re not wrong. This is becoming like listening to a train wreck every time because no one gives a shit anymore. Will is trying really hard to keep the wheels on the train and all the while everyone else is so hell bent on doing ANYTHING but the actual plot.

Ian Francis

I say this as a long-time listener, lover of both seasons, and all of the one-shots and other bonus content that you’ve done… can you guys PLEASE get your shit together? This season is getting hard to listen to.

Allpurposeflour

I really enjoyed this episode, I really needed a good laugh today and this episode was perfect

Úlfdís

Knock off the horns and drive them in was one of the "diner slang" phrases used on a episode of reading rainbow when i was a kid!

Jorpf

Clearly I'm late to the party seeing earlier comments, but the alphabet argument at the top of the episode was the final straw for me this season. I love Will's DM ideas, storytelling, and exposition, but Matt (and sometimes Anthony) constantly picking it all apart for whatever reason is driving me crazy. They've been so contentious so often that it's hard to listen to, and as a DM it hurts to hear someone act that way. I like the side content enough to keep my Patreon subscription for now, but if the only time there's no tension is when Matt gets what he wants, I'll have to reconsider.

Isaac Bols

This is a Will Campos thow away account.

Jorpf

😂

Lauren

I really don't get the comments telling them to get their shit together. We are on episode 15, and I trust Will as a GM to bring it all together in the end. Just enjoy how bonkers this is, there are dinosaurs and bigfoots, russian spies and robots. It's hilarious to listen to how derailed it can be, it's true to life with a close group of friends messing about with each other.

Ian Francis

It has nothing to do with Will’s story or DM ability and has everything to do with Matt and Anthony being antagonistic and arguing with Will about every call he makes. It’s super clear that they don’t respect him as a DM and they’re the ones making this season almost unbearable. Take for instance when Will was trying to move the narrative along through a helpful NPC and Anthony shoots him in the head just so he and Matt can continue fucking arguing about what to leave on the carving. Or if you want another example, then listen to when Matt threw a temper tantrum because his alphabet idea didn’t work and wasted 10 minutes arguing about it instead of respecting the call the DM made and moving on.

SonOfABoofo

Here on DnDads, no one goes for the beef

Glenda's Guidance

I love love love this podcast so much, and I am on my hands and knees begging Matt and Anthony to be COOPERATIVE. Also Will, please stand up for yourself and your story. I love the world building and the characters made. This behavior the past 2 episodes is making me wonder if I even like Matt and Anthony anymore... Please respect your friends and business partners, it makes for a great show for everyone. I'm excited for the next episode but I stg if it's the same behavior as the last 2 episodes, idk if I can trust the following episodes to be good. [edit: hope you all are safe!!]

Tiny

Guys please let Will get through his ideas! I know you have your moments but there's a time and a place. I think Will needs to set some ground rules with these guys. Like when he's world building or explaining something don't interrupt or if someone wants to chime in they put a hand up and he calls on them. We can't HEAR it so it won't break anything, but the constant bickering between Will and Anthony is so aggrivating I had to leave the live listen and skip to the end cause that's when everyone shuted up! Everyone gave Anthony respect why can't you guys respect Will??

eatmygerms

Can't wait for the next episode!

Trent Bennett

Sometimes I feel bad for Will and I’m sure he doesn’t take it personally but oh my heart.

Mason Weaver

So excited I'm finally caught up!

Tiny

I’m sure they’re all fine and maybe seeing these comments they’ll hopefully lighten up but after hearing the peachypit he didnt seem too bothered by it

Tinyhumanbrain76

WILL MADE A WHOLE ASS MUSEUM 😭😂 AND THEY SAID “NAH, WE SICK!”

Tinyhumanbrain76

Beth was very unhinged and had musicals on the mind this episode

Tinyhumanbrain76

I love Will going “i can do this, i can do this” poor Will man 😂😭

Tinyhumanbrain76

YOU GUYS ARE NO BETTER THAN JENKINS IN THE END 😭‼️

Garbage Game Night

Yeah that was frustrating, he reeled it back b/c I assume he realized how undermining that was. But that is how they have been treating the world building for a while.

Garbage Game Night

No, he seems incredibly grateful and willing to roll with it, but I think the players need to consider whether their shenanigans are creating a better podcast than seeing what Will has planned and picking their moments to mess with the DM rather than being chaotic improv that refuses to be reigned in at all.

Kim Barbaria

Oh, they messed with Anthony’s plans too. It is very common in RPGs for the players to go a different path from the DMs vision. He’ll adjust the story based on decisions they’ve made along the way. It’s all just part of the game.

Tiny

I know players are meant to mess with the DM's plans, but this sounded more like they never wanted to hear Will's plans because they deemed Jenkins a Nazi(?). Every time Will tried to explain the world through Jenkins Matt and Anthony just shut him up. For me it was hard to listen to this episode where as other times it was at least bareable.

Luna Luna

Oh my gosh I was not ready for Anothny to do that

Luna Luna

Marbles is still with you guys right? I don’t think he was mentioned in this episode

Luna Luna

Like a minute after commenting Marbles the person and cat come out

Purple Cool Cat

Someone needs to take the gun away from Anthony, because there’s a real chance once they get back to the real world he’s just gonna shoot Shane’s dad for no reason

Sir. Corny Neck

Was not expecting my favorite genre of music to get insulted today. Lol

Andrew Jemas

This is honestly approaching a shark-jumping moment for the podcast. "Uh it's what my character would do" shut the FUCK UP! imagine if in season 1 when the dads were presented with the tournament of power to save lark and sparrow they just never left their car and honked at everyone "because it's safer there". oh and then they drove around to all the other towns doing the same thing until it worked. for a fucking hour and a half.

Blake Walker

As a Blake, please kill Freddie's character. I can only take hearing my name said so much

Zafíro

Poor Will. What happened to "Yes, and"?? This makes me sad remembering how this group i DMd for years ago treated me like that. I die a little every time wills cool story and details get wrecked and dismissed.

Zafíro

Also why was Freddy's new character's immediately character-assassinated? I was looking forward to maybe seeing an earnest character from Freddy. But they didn't give him a chance. You guys are funny, stop trying so hard.

Gigi

literally, like they immediately made situations where they said he’s a bad plumber and an asshole and freddie just rolled with it. matt and anthony just bulldozing the fuck out of everyone including the GM and it’s boring

Cody Russell

Will set them up to do a steampunk sasquatch museum heist, and instead everyone decided to stay in one place and talk over each other for 90 minutes. If the cast reads this, know that this is my favorite podcast and I mean this as constructive criticism: the show is better when you work with each other instead of against the DM.

Stephen Espinosa

And just like the maxton waller lyrics, we got our “hole in the stars”

Craig Beshears

The random “im not going to miss my shot” had me hollering on my route today

Tiny

Thankfully this episode was a hiccup and we're back on track along with back in Peachyville. Everyone seems to be working together and listening to Will, and Will can use the ideas for later puzzles!

ChelzMarie

Would love to hear a miniseries or one-shot in the Fate system.

Obi

“Hole Comity” merch pleeeeease

Brandon Curtis

Came here from the future to say that the podcast does get back on track a bit, but I still skip this episode whenever I relisten. This one in particular crosses the line of Matt + Anthony being so combative that Will’s plans are derailed in a way that is more painful/ boring to listen to than it is funny. Players should be allowed to derail a GMs plans here and there in good faith, but this one goes too far, though other episodes this season have certainly come close. For all those who don’t see it: the pyramid moment in season 1 wouldn’t have happened if the players hadn’t played ball with Anthony’s plans to a degree.

Quantum OFZENTRIX

I agree, Matt often this season steamrolls over stuff will lays out

Garbage Game Night

The show Taskmaster is fun because you see a challenge and the contestant subverts it or fails in entertaining ways. This episode is: what if the contestants refused to leave the dressing room and started making up their own game, Alex Horne tries to help. They shoot him. They spend the rest of the show scheming and mocking the show runner. There were still some funny moments, but the middle section of this episode is frustrating. We want to see you subvert the challenges, not bicker for an hour about avoiding the lore/challenges. To be fair, this was probably recorded right after the election.

EllieKatherine

Ah different strokes. Matt is one of my favs 😂

Khaos Crowe

Side note.. I am FOR Jinco overalls!

ESO

It was a mistake to kill jenkins

patrick adelman

Hell yeah. Love to hear an over the garden wall callout

Tony Loch

Man, I know I’m late to the party on the one, but listening to everyone just bash Will’s story was ROUGH. Kudos to Will for taking it and keeping the story going anyway; if I was in his shoes, I would have pulled everyone to the side after this. Cause this would have told me that my players aren’t having fun and we can do something else. This has the feeling of a group of toddlers ripping toys away from other kids at daycare because they got bored with what they had. Rough listen.

Miguel Angel Pena

This episode was like if Seinfeld had an episode about TTRPGs and I say that as a compliment

cronomagnis

I have an idea for their symbol for Lost: | || || |_

Cat Coates

intro def in the top 5

Sam

My mom is from Florida and when she orders steak, she says "knock the hooves and the horns off and walk it across the grill." Or, "still mooin'."

Holyboi

Will has a really good "end of episode" voice. idk how to explain it but at the end of each one his voice gets kinda nasally which is a good way to end the ep imo

Kacey

The goal of TTRPGS is not to mess with the DM’s plans. The goal is to collaboratively tell a story in which everyone has fun, INCLUDING the DM. Please don’t go into a TTRPG with the mindset of “mess with the DM”. You will be kicked from that group very fast.

Wemf

I am late to the party but it feels like commenters are forgetting season 1 where the dads came up with a way to completely avoid going into a dungeon, part of the reason this group is fun and enjoyable for me is that they are trying to find ways around the straightforward path the DM sets up.

Matthew Benson

Im really glad I came here and saw that im not the only one. I just had to turn this episode off about 15 minutes in because after the last few episodes I just can't take any more of listening to Matt argue about everything and steamroll over the whole podcast. It's so bad it started making ME feel anxious. Ive subscribed since Season 1, which was amazing. Season 2, I eventually got through, and had some great points. After catching myself actually saying, "Oh my God will you just. shut. up!" out loud to my speaker, I don't know if this is for me anymore.

Marissa Y.

I have not listened to or seen Fun Home, but I'm SHOCKED Beth did not riff on the ring of keys song from it. I hope Will gets to do a one shot in his Bigfoot/Swamp Monster world, or that we get some kind of outline of how that world was set up!

Joe Luna

Freddie hitting us with the saddest quote from ol' Teddy, "The light is gone from my life"

Andy Brunstein

Maybe it’s cause I’m a guy and all guys have the sense of humor of a 13yo but this is one of the best episodes of season 3 classic d&daddies 5 footer humor!

Tacodbzdude

Beth sounds like dora the explorer doing the poem part, so funny 🤣

Ryan Stripling

Y'all act like the group never steam rolled Anthony in the first two seasons and happened all the time

Kaiberly Cournoyer-Rowland

Put the body by the door, put the body by the door, put the body by the…. Doooooor

Das Paco

It's been awhile since I last listened to this episode. I think it would be a fun mbic to have Will do the heist episode but with swamp people as the players trying to get the key back. The cannon shooting the vault of heaven was interesting. Also I feel bad for will and all his ideas he came up with for the setting.

DiscoFever

enough time has passed, I like the bigfoot episodes

MrPutItOn06

Feel like this season went downhill once Tony died. Feel like they kind of stopped respect being will. I think cause he stopped being mean.

MrPutItOn06

Why does Beth keep trying to sing.

ZeGenderWheel

The first mini game in season 1 litterally went off the rails because the dads pulled their dicks out
