Quick show of hands: who else was shamed about their leg hair in high school because a girl made a joke or comment about how hairy they were? Literally the same thing happened to me when I wore shorts to school one day and I never wore them outside of P.E. class ever again. (That said, this was in the Philippines, where my legs were considerably hairier than the norm, and once I moved to the States, where there are more hairy people, I started wearing them again)

Love those little egg thieves in Spyro. Felt like they were easier in the remaster, but maybe it’s just because I’m no longer a child. Their little taunting laugh is burned into my memory. Spyro was surprisingly good at making enemies that would mock you both when you win and when you messed up. I remember the Gnorcs in the second world of the first game would run away to their tents when you attacked, and if you burned down their tents they would just moon you until you killed them.

It’s funny how they they make an art out of not listening to Freddie. Like yes, Will and Matt, you guys have kids, you have seen their language form in real time. But that was not Freddie’s point. Will said “a baby doesn’t look at a person and say ‘grandma’” and Freddie was saying that actually yes, they do. As they develop language they get to mama and nana and those early identifications do create the foundations for grandma and other variations. But because they tune Freddie out so much they jump down his throat because they completely missed his original point. Matt literally says “that has nothing to do with what we’re talking about” but it is a direct response to something Will said.

I suspect it's because I'm a lot older than most of y'all, but I'm surprised no one named dropped "The Forever War" by Joe Haldeman as one of the first (and IMO best) examples of time-dilation as storytelling tool. It came out in 1974, and he wrote it from an anti-war perspective after his own time fighting in Vietnam. It won the Nebula and Hugo at the time and is one of my all time favorites, but is one I rarely see mentioned. Anyway - highly, highly recommended! ....and now that this episode is over I see the Audiobook of "The Forever War" is available to stream, and I think my 4th or 5th revisit is overdue.....
