Here we are! Season finale... and the final game of Richmonds season.

Will they beat Jamie and the rest of the Man City team... or will they get relegated?

Enjoy!

Also: Just want to let you know I'll be continuing with Ted Lasso for S2, in a few days.

There will be a Halloween surprise first :)

Love that Nate's fire was squelched by Rebecca knowing his name. Damn whistle. Still love those three blokes in the pub. Make me laugh every time. Facking Rupert calling Roy an Octogenarian is rich. Wanker! Loved the Roy chant. Got a bit choked up with that and the Jaimie bit. "Did I get ya?" LoLz

The spit in the face is show's way of not letting her off the hook.

Thanks for watching this series - you are my favorite Ted Lasso reactor. I think this is one of the best seasons in television history. I'm really looking forward to season 2.

I loved season 1. While a fairly predictable arc overall, the show does such a good job of developing all of the characters via tiny moments throughout. I’ve rewatched it several times and I still laugh, cry, and laugh&cry almost as if it were the first time. Looking forward to more! Also, in case you did know, Claudie, the phrase Ted says, uncharacteristically swearing while doing so, “win the whole fucking thing” is a nod to the baseball comedy, Major League. There are tons of references to American pop culture but I grew up loving that film and this show’s first season takes a lot of inspiration from it. And thanks for ensuring the British references aren’t lost on us! I knew the UK slang for cigarettes but didn’t know the full origin of how it came to be used.

I LOVED this episode, It was very well done. It probably won’t surprise you to find out that I had completely forgotten Higgins’ oldest son was a priest 😅 I can’t wait for more. Thanks Claudie 😁

I would love for Ted and his team to gain promotion and "win the whole fucking thing". While it is highly unlikely to actually happen, it is not unheard of. Over here in Germany it happend in the nineties, when my favorite club, the 1. FC Kaiserslautern (or short FCK) got relegated in 1996, gained promotion the next year and started their season with a sensational 1:0 over the great Bayern Munich IN Munich. They reached number one on the 4th matchday and they never left that place right until the end of the season 1997/98. To the day it is the biggest underdog victory in the history of german football...🤩

Yep. And the "do you believe in miracles?" phrase refers to the "Miracle on Ice" 1980 US Hockey team that upset the mighty USSR in the Olympics that year. One of the biggest upsets in Olympic history! They then went on to beat Finland for the gold medal.

I always thought it odd that Jamie was actually allowed to play against them. I know if it’s the other way around, since Jamie is on loan from Man City, if he was still at Richmond he wouldn’t be allowed to play against Man City. I guess maybe it doesn’t go the opposite way?

Apparently Rebecca’s reaction is her actual reaction to his whacking his head.

I also think it odd that people think Rebecca would fire him .. since really it’s Rebecca’s fault. Who knows what would have happened had they had Jamie still.

With sports teams that's just how it goes. There is plenty of MLB players that get traded but are still owned by the original team that has their contract. They are literally paying the player to play against their team. Because big picture, they know that the player needs development. And whether that is at bats, or time played on the field, or court, or whatever to get in. So yes, they will literally pay them to play for a different team which could play against them. Because it's worth it for the player to get their minutes in so to speak instead of sitting on the bench for the original team. And when the loan is up the original team recalls the player who got the experience and will perform for them. Because they spent the season being an active part of the rival team instead of sitting on the bench and not really doing anything.
