Ted's chair issue was an Alice prank lol

Thank YOU for a great season. I really enjoyed season 4 and watching it on replay with you made it even better. Word on the street is that Apple is in negotiation with everyone for a 5th season and work on it could begin as early as January.

Ted lasso 4x9 Before I get into my watch along notes, overall I have loved this season. I think it has been some truly great TV. I honestly think we know these Lady Greyhounds as well as or better than the Greyhounds of season one. Alice is a wonderful addition to the show. Tanya Reynolds needs to be showered in awards. I will miss Mae. I’ve been a fan of Annette Badland since Doctor Who’s Boomtown. I hope they find a way to work in an appearance if they continue. Like a hallucination or a dream or something. Anyway, on to the notes: Poor Jezza has a shit Mum. Mae’s favorite sheep Doug? How did Ted not know that? Everyone knew that. 😉 I genuinely don’t remember the name of this old guy, but it’s the first time we’ve seen him in a while. You know who we also really haven’t seen much of? That old guy in the scarf that’s always calling Ted a wanker. Only once this whole season. Fucking Derrick… “Who the fuck do you think you are? Thanos?” Love that. Gemma and Alice genuinely seem like friends now. They talk to each other like friends, not employer and employee. Oh, fuck off, Jane! Let this be her last appearance. Wearing red to Mae’s funeral? I wish Henry would throw a dart at her. It’s good to see Beard wanting her to go away. She just wants drama. Enough, already. Look at the look of joy at having caused him physical damage. Psychopath. The Twins’ song: that was amazing. More of that, please. Henry is taking Mae’s loss hard. He clearly spent quite a lot of time with her. You can see how much lying to Henry didn’t sit right with Ted. I know Ted doesn’t want to talk about it, and he doesn’t want to burden Henry with that knowledge, but he respects his kid and believes in honesty. Ben is superficially charming, and you can see how he and Lizzie were once a thing, but his casual dismissal of her career that is gaining actual momentum and notoriety, treating it as some distraction, when he’s still trying to make a go as what I assume to be a musician. It’s not a meal he gets to serve. Seriously. Is Keeley wearing pajamas? To the office? Nate!!! Nate and Jade are married (not spoken in dialogue, but wedding bands clearly visible on their left hands) and have a daughter named Athena! Named after the Taste of Athens, where they met. Nate, Jade, and Athena apparently live in Poland, where he coaches the national team. Roy was briefly possessed by a “Well, actually…” for a minute. Thank goodness he exorcised it. Diamond Dogs mount up!!! “No, I want to be a cat!” Alice’s cat posture is hilarious. Nate is 3 years on, a not only is he not showing any signs of backsliding, but he’s showing actual growth. I was always a little unsure about his redemption arc, but he stuck the landing, it seems. “Don’t disappear when you feel inadequate.” Alice with the clincher. I wish I could learn to take that advice. We need to see more of June. The kit woman should get as much screen time as Will Kitmam, surely. “The Milk sisters have sold their shares.” “Oh, no! Have they expired?” Starting lineup: Boots Lizzie (c) Siobhan Niamh Mady Margy Evellyn Terri ⭐️⭐️Shannon⭐️⭐️ Gaby Resha Boots still has the gloves. Elaine Pinter and her grandson? I think that’s the one Rebecca thought was a granddaughter. Men’s team support! Dani, Isaac, Jan, Richard, Zoreaux, Colin (long hair now… going for the Rojas look?), Bumbercatch, and Sam!!! Sam went to Man U. Not closer to home, slightly further from it. His story about his uncle Dorothy could have been lifted from Rose in the Golden Girls. Roy’s lock screen is Phoebe, clearly taken during Season Two’s “Do the Rightest Thing”, judging by her outfit, and that she’s holding Zoe, who is “from the modern line. Her parents were cancelled.” So, we don’t get to know if the team won their final match? It kind of isn’t important… they made it to the Super League, and sold out Nelson Road. Even if they didn’t win their final match game, they still won. “‘‘Twas me all along!” 🎼Who’s been messing up everything? It’s been Zeldatha All Along 🎶 Bet she killed Oo Goobley too… Ah! When HR was calling Higgins, that wasn’t Human Resources, it was Hugo Riddles. Full marks to Rebecca and Higgins for undercutting her nonsense. She wanted the Men’s team, though? Even in this attempted hostile takeover they are an afterthought? I’m really glad Ted decided to be honest with Henry. Pinter pause… PB&J own the Crown & Anchor. Can this work out? Mae going out like an absolute boss. Securing Richmond’s future from beyond the grave. Rebecca saying Chelsea kicked Roy to the curb, but Roy said many times that he left Chelsea on his own accord. Roy’s impression of Rebecca was hilarious. Repeating her dressing down from “La Locker Room Aux Folles” verbatim. I guess it stuck with him. I mean, that was 3 years ago, and it’s still right there for him. Richard Schiff?! I mean, I’ve been vocal that Beard should accept his age, but he shouldn’t have to accept an extra 20 years!!! Mattheis and Beard speaking Dutch… don’t tell Jan. Mattheis must be quite tall. He’s standing eye to eye with Rebecca in heels. Will’s still there! Roy’s packing the red string from Season three’s “The Strings that Bind” He finally gets his own Army Man. His looks to be throwing a grenade. The poem Mae is reading in the voiceover is “When Death Comes”by Mary Oliver. Alice is the chair gremlin!!! She’s been lowering it all season! Beard is all Walter White! It ends as it begins: on “Ted Lasso: Assistant Manager”. I feel this is the best of both worlds for Ted. He gets to do what he’s meant to do: be a coach. But, he gets more time with Henry. All while getting to stay with his found family in Richmond. Things I’d like to see in a theoretical season 5: no actual villains. They aren’t really necessary. The struggles of maintaining a winning team while balancing life and circumstances are enough without an actual villain. You can have antagonistic characters for sure, but nobody who is plotting the club’s demise. Maybe whoever becomes the manager of the men’s team might be someone challenging. Not outright hostile, or a mustache twirler, but maybe brusque. Constantly butting heads with Alice. Maybe Ted’s role in the season is to help find a way for the two teams to coexist. This will likely be the first manager in a while not versed in the Lasso Way. Interpersonal drama to be mined there without making it an existential threat.

Loved Zelda's little line of "Bob's your mother's brother" aka Bob's your uncle. And also HR being Hugo Riddles.

I have very few notes... 1 Thank you Claudie for your continued amazing reactions to these shows. Your facial expressions are often quite close to what mine were as I watched for the first time. 2 I like to think that Roy's Army man wasn't throwing a grenade... Was actually launching another F-bomb. 3 Beard's arc had him starting as the cowardly lion and ending as Walter White (that tracks with his "stealing a loaf of meth" back when). 4 Nice catch on Phoebe's team sponsorship. You are the only one I've seen recognize that in real time. 5 I wish they would've shown Rebecca and Higgins to have puzzled out Zelda before it getting so far as relying on Hugo to pull it out of the fire.

O-Town Bear

It had some problems but it was a good season. Enjoyed the ride. Thanks, Claudie.

I feel like they really stuck the landing here. The first half of the season was a little rocky, but still good. But the last half was banger after banger. The ending could be it, but there's more if they want to do more. Not sure what's next on your list, but you should consider Dark (Netflix). A German show from 2017. I think it's right up your alley and one of the best shows I've ever seen. If you liked Silo, you'll love Dark!
