*grumbles in daylight savings time*

Sammy the Shark

That’s what it was! I was so confused why I was awake early and there was no chapter!

W A Black

Luckily the UK joins us on Daylight savings in 3 weeks.

Jeromey Johnson

How funny would it be for Harry to find Harry Evans during his search for the bones’ murderer and he’s married to Summerbee.

Zai

Will Harry act to defend Smith knowing the retrial is happening? Will acrturus push for the retrial to happen sooner? Can't wait for the next chapter to come as soon as possible.

Kevin Henderson

That would be interesting and make sense. I like the idea.

Abe 7

Nice chapter. I really hope we get see a Harry-Voldie clash when dork lord comes to assassinate Smith

Home of the Brave

I can't wait for the next few chapters, because it should be obvious to quite a few people that Smith and Morfin Gaunt will be high priority targets of Voldemort. So those smart people need to only lie in wait for them to make a move and drag a few characters and possibly Voldemort out of the shadows a lot earlier than he intended. Looking forward to Thursday.

Rogue

Isn’t this the last time we’re doing daylight savings? I remember hearing something about that.

And is also the grandfather of Eleanor from WitS

Jameson does not se

Sunray

Jameson does not seem to be at dumbledore and voldemorts level much less grindeald and harry Evan’s, as it is he would probably be unable to get the better of moody in a friendly duel considering how much he struggled with Amelia, and considering apart from the 3 unforgivables every other spell can be magically block or countered and Amelia was undoubtedly not delving into dark magic, it would stand to reason that he has no chance against Voldemort who though he retreated was holding them both of at the same time when we consider they are very near equal….

Sunray

More that that though is despite the overwhelming advantage he has in knowing the identities of the death eaters and other things from his past, he’s still unable to anticipate riddle, Evan’s would have been several steps ahead and thwarted riddles plans before he made them dimbledore with the same knowledge would at least have preemptively taken some precautionary measures, Jameson seems to forget what Tom is like or maybe is expecting that nothing will happen until his parent are old enough to have graduated and joined the order, either way despite the people Tom would target being rather obvious Jameson is bery

Sunray

much content to watch Voldemort get a stronger foothold and gain more support and destroy those that would oppose him

GeorgieD

Very predictable that Smith will die before the truth can be revealed lol. I pegged that storyline soon after he visited the prison. “One of my contacts…” lol. God forbid Voldemort fails at something other than attacking the main protagonist and the truth is revealed. May make the story more unpredictable.

Sunny

Big shoes to fill!! Harry Evans is probably the GOAT of your universe, with Harry Peverell behind him. Amelia's ability was somewhat surprising. You'd think that Jameson has some way to go to get to Dumbledore and Voldy's level, if he's having trouble dispatching an Auror. Anyway, thank you for the chapter Mr McCusker and I look forward to the next one.

Jordan Gunn

I don't get the mix in of the previous universe. Didn't the serpent kill off Voldemort in the end? Why doesn't Minerva recognize him? Strange imo.

GeorgieD

I believe that’s its parallel timelines in his stories. He can almost do a Marvel type mashup at some point .

GeorgieD

Exactly. He has no advantage by keeping quiet about some of his knowledge. Can use his unknown identity as a ICW agent to keep his own background secret. Makes no sense not to out Tom Riddle and cut his support.

TheNinja

I honestly feel like all these references to Harry Evans are leading up to some kind of brief appearance of him in some form. Just seems like there has been so many references of him and especially with Jameson now going by his alias I feel like that would pique the interest of Evans to look into it. I mean it's not like he wouldn't be alive still, especially considering he ended up living several hundred years just like Nick and his wife did.

TheNinja

Amelia has talent sure, but she isn't even remotely in the same league as Jameson or Evans for that matter. She grew up in a privileged Pure Blood lifestyle...Harry grew up and lived in Hell...survived and went through things that she would never be able to survive or weather through. And her stubbornness doesn't mean shit, there are people who are survivors and can make it through those things and there are those who can't. She got herself captured and it had to be Harry that came to rescue her.

Jakub Horehleď

It's implied that they already slept together and are coming to duel just after spending the night together. Read it again.

stevem1

Voldemort is slipping. I was glad to see that Charlus Potter didn’t immediately recognize the family resemblance, unlike a lot of fanfictions.

GeorgieD

Seriously. A lot of her character and talent doesn’t make sense. All of a sudden she’s a bad ass who can challenge him in a duel. But got her ass handed to her and had to be rescued.

GeorgieD

Lee is making this too predictable. Im rereading “when the roses bloom” again for the 5th. Honestly the best fanfic for HP ever written. I think that’s why he keeps going back to it. I’m not mad it tho. But cmon man, try again. Dig deeper. Also, don’t kill or silence Smith. Seems like a great original character arc

GeorgieD

Just unrealistic “I don’t want to tell anyone too save my own ass …. Or whatever reason “.

TheNinja

Well to be fair the more Tom split his soul the more unstable he became, pretty much established in canon that is what happened to him. Proof of that from how his eyes would glow red before he tried to kill Harry anyway, normal witches and wizards aint supposed to be able to do that.

Stephen P McCann

I feel that the duel felt authentic to the character Jameson. The more unbelievable scenes were when Jameson was dominating people magically. To me, Jameson strikes me as a reluctant protagonist, whose magical strengths lie in analysis, detection, and protection. I think that’s a great character. He is kind of a curmudgeon lol. However sometimes he fires from the hip and kills 24 of Amelia’s captors that are hired and competent wands without a plan. It’s weird when he does that. I would rather Jameson get so fed up with Voldemort messing with his life that he starts scheming and planting booby traps all over Voldemorts plans and ends the threat that way than the direct confrontation.

Matthew

Where are you getting any of these opinions of Amelia from? Harry knows absolutely nothing about her before he came to the past, all he knew was that she died by Voldemorts own hand, and even that was seemingly speculation by the prophet. He’s speaking as someone who is still learning about who this person is, and of course she’s not equal with him, he’s just not going to battle his girlfriend into the dirt when he’s having his first real duel with her, and likely trying to make her better. Like he said at the beginning, he’s holding back because otherwise he would kill her. You’re reading way too much into his inner monologue.

TheNinja

I mean her being able to actually "be a challenge" to him to begin with is laughable. Said as much himself that if he didn't hold back he would kill her...fact is that he quite easily could if he wanted to. If he could hold his own with Tom in his prime like he is now, then he could easily mop the floor with Amelia if he wanted to.

TheNinja

I mean I thought is was hilarious to begin with that he thought he could stay out of all this mess to begin with when it was inevitable that he would cross paths with someone and end up involved.

TheNinja

Yeah I honestly dunno why Harry hasn't bothered with what you said of just going basically Rambo on him. Probably becuase he is too caught up in living his life or trying to anyway, with AMelia and secretly investigating the death of her parents which will probably lead to Tom or his followers somehow either way will end ugly most likely, being teacher, and all the distractions that he has now. I mean the Harry that initially arrived there would probably have been in a better position to do what ya said due to his anonymity, but now that he is slowly acquiring fame can't do as much as could before.

Hadrian v.E.

LOL, I don't know why Black even thought there was a chance of Harry being deferential or something similarly asinine for aggressively defending his business establishment, employees, and himself.
