[Preview] Version 1.7.0 - Major Gameplay Overhaul Update - TOTK Randomizer (Patreon)
Content
I am happy to present Version 1.7.0 of the TOTK Randomizer! This update significantly expands enemy variety, increases gameplay unpredictability, and includes major improvements to the spawn system, making the Randomizer experience feel more dynamic than ever before.
This update introduces a major new feature: randomly spawned enemies now use randomized equipment loadouts, including attachments. With thousands of possible enemy and equipment combinations, encounters are now far more varied and unpredictable. To further distinguish the Randomizer experience, enemy HP gauges are now displayed in orange instead of the usual red.
Several additions have also been made. The Yiga Bow variant has been added to the enemy spawn pool, while Green, Blue, Red, Purple, Silver, and Gold Rupees have been added to the item spawn pool, increasing the variety of potential rewards.
Numerous gameplay changes have also been implemented. Enemies can now attack the player in safe areas such as villages once again, restoring the intended level of unpredictability. In addition, enemies can now spawn at even more random times, with spawn checks occurring every third of a second instead of every half second. The overall spawn chance for randomly spawned enemies has been increased from 5% to 6% per second, and the spawn chance for Moldugas has also been increased. To improve balance, the spawn chances of Chuchus and Stone Taluses have been reduced due to their high overall group count.
Special events have also received adjustments. The maximum duration of special events has been reduced from 9 to 6 minutes to help them feel more impactful and memorable. Additionally, the spawn chance of Fairies during the Lucky special event has been reduced to limit their overall effectiveness.
Finally, the Randomizer Shop now uses the individual item price instead of the total paid amount when issuing refunds or applying additional charges, ensuring calculations are handled more accurately.
As for bugfixes, an issue where metal equipment did not display lightning warnings in the inventory in certain situations has been resolved.
This update also includes substantial optimizations under the hood. Alongside general code optimization, memory usage related to the spawn system has been reduced by 4,000 KB, and the spawn system has been optimized for weaker systems to reduce potential lag caused by excessive execution.
🌟 I hope you are looking forward to this update! This is one of the largest improvements to the spawn system so far and should make enemy encounters feel more varied, challenging, and memorable throughout your adventure. I will be streaming the update this Thursday, Friday and Saturday on my YouTube channel to showcase it and to make sure there are no issues before releasing it on Sunday.PS: Please note that an anniversary post is scheduled for tomorrow.
