EP 1 : Title - The Time Capsule That Turned Me Into Her : CHAPTER 6 — Her Voice Through My Lips (Patreon)

Jack stood in the kitchen, staring at the steam curling from his tea as if the cup were whispering secrets. His hands trembled around the ceramic — but not from fear. From anticipation.
He hadn’t spoken since sunrise.
Not a word.
Not even a whisper.
He was afraid to hear it.
Afraid to hear her through him.
The softening in his throat had increased. His Adam’s apple was nearly invisible now, smoothed by whatever force — magic, memory, destiny — was reshaping him from the inside out. His chest ached with a strange, electric warmth, like new structures forming beneath the skin, preparing for a shape he wasn’t ready to acknowledge.
He took a breath.
Then another.
Then he spoke.
Just one word.
“Hello.”
The mug slipped from his hands and shattered on the floor.
Because the voice that came out wasn’t his.
It was higher.
Softer.
Breathier.
Warm around the vowels.
Gentle around the edges.
A woman’s voice.
A young woman’s voice.
His voice.
Her voice.
Jack covered his mouth with shaking hands. His heart thundered in his chest, but beneath the shock… something like relief bloomed.
He tried again, terrified but irresistibly drawn to the sound.
“H… hi.”
The sound was delicate, melodic, undeniably feminine. It vibrated through him with a familiarity that made his eyes sting.
This wasn’t an accident.
This wasn’t a curse.
This wasn’t transformation by force.
This was memory resurfacing.
He closed his eyes and felt it — not just the voice, but the presence inside it. A soul brushing against his own. A history settling into alignment. The sensation of two selves weaving together, thread by thread.
A whisper rose in the silence, slipping into his consciousness like breath on glass.
“I am you… and you were me.”
His body shivered with recognition.
Great-grandmother.
That was the story.
But what if the truth was deeper?
Older?
More intimate?
What if he wasn’t becoming her?
What if he had once been her?
A reincarnation.
A loop closing.
A life continuing where it left off.
His reflection shimmered slightly in the microwave door — and for the first time, he didn’t look away. He leaned closer and whispered:
“What’s my name?”
The air shifted.
Warmth surged.
And a single word rose on his tongue —
Soft.
Certain.
Inevitable.
“Jessica.”
His knees buckled. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he whispered the name again, each time softer, more aligned, more right.
“Jessica…”
“Jessica…”
“I’m… Jessica.”
The mirror didn’t argue.
The house didn’t protest.
The universe didn’t contradict him.
Because for the first time in his life…
He wasn’t pretending.
He was remembering.
