Hello, it's December! Won't lie, but this year ranks as one of the weirdest ones. I wanted to share with you a piece of promo work intended for unveiling in 2023 that will be used to promote our story mode. We worked with Jiji (A collaborator we've had a few times now) on preparing a new piece of artwork that will represent our story mode and everything we've been working on this year.

A story, if you don't mind reading:

Back in 2020, we were faced with a rather tricky situation as we watched conventions disappear and the world entered into a somewhat uncertain state. We had spent a year taking advice from 'business' people we assumed had our best interests in mind and were pushing our game towards a live service model. We're talking multiplayer only, online, monetization- Another game that would fall into rank and file with many others. Any mention of story mode was scoffed at as 'dumb'. A quote that stuck with us was 'People don't care about the characters' by someone at EA.

During that period of Covid where we realized things had changed, we realized we might have been put on the wrong path. We decided to return to our original vision: Telling a story, single player, developing a world and its characters.

(Early layout of the poster above)

So we returned to the original vision and did just that- We hired some writers and have been hard at work on giving these characters and the world some life. We want to show that we're doing this for the love of the game- Not money. (Is this cliche?)

We've been quieter this year as we've been building out the foundation of this story mode which has been work intensive. The team has discussed it pretty extensively, and we're pretty set. ;) Might actually poll you all to get some thoughts as we get closer.

Its really cool that you guys stuck to your guns for the direction you wanted this game to take.

Gosh, what drew me to the charm of this game *was* the characters themselves! It's been a pleasure seeing this game grow into what its becoming!
