Oh hello, pals!

Today marks one month since I tested my first Patreon promotion, giving away over 300 free 1-month subs to Post Games. Over the next few days, many people will be deciding whether or not to continue supporting the show for months to come.

Whatever way things go, I want to say, "Thank you for giving the Patreon a chance!"

And for people already keeping this ship afloat, I want to say, "Damn, you look great today! Younger! Happier! Ready to take on the world! You go be you!"

While I have y'all here, I might as well use this moment to answer an important question for an upcoming episode.

Would you like guests to play video games at your funeral?

If there are a myriad of activities at my funeral, or if people are sitting Shiva and wanna have some fun, sure. But at a typical, traditional funeral? No.

Shaun Dyer

Maybe after… during the service might be seen as a little disrespectful.

Sam Ryan

No, but a pinball machine is fine. And a select few can play Drop7 during it.

Will

We're doing a Smash Bros tournament, you're going down Granma Ethel 💪

Joe Payne

Only if it’s mario kart and they’re racing my ghost

Kyle Starr

If that’s what reminds them of me, do it! Would love to see some folks going hard on some retro handhelds during the service from the ethereal plane.

James W.

If we're joining in, is it okay to use Apple Pay, or should we use a credit card/Pay Pal to make sure you get the best payout?

Nota Chance

only something like Fall Guys, and only if there’s a big screen over my casket, and they can only play during the service.

BubbleBlasterSpaceLady

Yes, but it's a side scrolling adventure of my life ala Little Big Planet built

Nick Searle

I want a fighting game tournament where the trophy is the urn with my ashes

Interonaut

I think it'd be great if folx started up a few Jackbox games and enjoyed eachother's company.

Kel Bennett

Loving the podcast so far. A fascinating meta look at video games. I hope there's a no holds barred Mario Kart tournament at my funeral. #nofriendsinmariokart

Edwin Gore

No only because I am a person that plays video games. It's not my identity. If anybody wants to play video games at my funeral, they are more than welcome to though

James Alexander

Hell yes. Video Games have been a big part of my life and I want people to have fun at my funeral. I've said before I want my funeral to be at an arcade.

Milktoast

Everyone's just playing balatro distractedly on their phones, first one to beat Ante 8 gets to close my coffin- they see I'm dressed like a joker.

Patrick

It’s not quite at my funeral, but I’m tempted to make it a requirement to be a pallbearer for my casket you have to have played and completed at least one Kingdom Hearts game

Ryan McGee

Year-long subscription achieved! Been a fan of yours for a decade plus and happy to support this new phase of your professional journey.

I have standing orders to my video game friend group that they vocalize at minimum one full video game OST of my choosing at my funeral, it will be notarized and everything

Corey Morabito

Broke: Fortnite concerts. Woke: Fortnite funerals.

My grandma's wake included an original Game Boy in her arthritis-deformed hands, which conspicuously and painfully curled over ... and just so happended to be a perfect fit for a Game Boy DMG-01. Her game of choice was Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle ("Bugs," she would call the combo GB and game). I still have that Game Boy and that cart, and every one in awhile I play it and think ... wow this isn't that good, why did Grams love it so much lol? Anywho, games are part of what we love, and if we can't celebrate that at the end of one's life then what's it all about?

Michael Branes

silent hill 2, they have to play the whole damn thing in one sitting

Shawn Frey

I'm pretty sparing with my subscriptions, but this was an easy one to continue. You're doing great work! And the free month helped me jump in earlier than I might have otherwise.

Nicholas Friedman

Will have Tetris DS set up at little kiosks for everyone.
