Just wanted to say: noticed, and appreciate, the early drop of this and The Besties today. Makes me even happier to support both.

Marcus

Tim’s bonus segment was hilarious and persuasive!

DQ pushed its way into becoming my favorite all time franchise last year as I played through VII (the beginning should've been left alone, in all its mastery) and VIII. Currently playing the Japan only ps2 remake of V, and XI is possibly my favorite game of all time. What an exiting episode!

Slink

Great ep! Been introducing myself to DQ this year and started with DQVII (PSX) on my Steam Deck. While I certainly appreciate Tim's preference for experiencing games on the big screen, it's handheld city over here! I'll play anything I can on a good handheld. Makes the game extra cozy. Edit: I decided to at least take Tim’s rec and play the original PSX DQVII instead of the remake on 3DS. And I must say this is a beautiful game indeed, and I do enjoy the slower pacing. Great stuff!

Casey Wittner

Man, I love this podcast so much, but I have to say I really did not enjoy the bonus segment. I am not a video essay guy at all, so it might just not be for me, but a lengthy, snarky monologue in trailer guy voice was rough to get through. Really appreciate the history stuff about DQ, though, very interesting!

Colin Roberts

Good lord, am I really about to break my DQ duck? I know Tim was very direct about the new version of VII but it feels like a safer entry point for me…

Christopher Furniss

Oh my god I love Tim Rogers so much. Thank you for this cozy episode

Directional Joy

Unexpectedly, this has become one of my favorite episodes. Unexpected because (and PLEASE, fans of DQ, don’t hate me) I have found DQ’s combat simple and tedious. The only DQ game that has truly spoken to me is DQ Builders. Saying that, the history of DQ and the passion shared was a pleasure, despite my personal criticisms. I am happy that DQ continues to truck on, being so faithfully committed to it’s foundation. Tim Rogers’ contribution to the episode was EXACTLY what I hoped for. 😊

Johnny Carvalho

Why can't we have Tim discussing ALL of DQs? I would love this, it is sad that this man dissapears sometimes. But his takes are pure gold
