Witch Hat is sick! Glad you’re liking it. It, Frieren, and Delicious and Dungeon have been amazing manga. I hope Witch Hats’ anime is as good as the other two! Eagerly anticipating it

Fantastic episode, especially as I’ve only just started playing 1000xRESIST on gamepass. I’m already completely hooked on the vibes and atmosphere so I’m stoked about their new game. As an effete European, it never occurred to me that gun manufacturers would use games for product placement. Though it seems so obvious now it’s been pointed out. If you ever decide to do a deeper dive on this, it would be fascinating to hear it.

Just a random thought I had while listening to this week’s episode, specifically the listener questions regarding the state of the games industry: Looking at my two daughters’ gaming habits it seems like we, those of us deeply entrenched in the traditional Gamer Culture dating back to the 80s and 90s, conflate the Gaming Industry and Gaming in general. My 13 year old daughter and her friends love videogames, but they couldn’t care less about where they game. To them, it’s all about what’s new and interesting - and for them, more often than not that means Roblox. Though (rightfully) much maligned, there is an undeniable grassroots creativity there that speaks to their generation in a way AAA games can’t (I’m looking at you Steal a Brainrot). Every now and then I manage to get her to play some non-Roblox games, but those tend to be quirky indie games, not big budget console exclusives (Nintendo games being the exception. Can’t beat the Nintendo secret sauce). Maybe the inevitable collapse of the old Gaming Industry, with its AAA budgets, crunch and inhumane workforce turnover is no bad thing. Gaming will survive, even if Activision Blizzard and Ubisoft don’t.
