Just a heads up, I'm not seeing this episode in the RSS feed yet. I think Patreon changed a setting that automatically added audio uploads to the RSS feed based on some delays I've seen with other podcasts this week.

Man you got to me 3 weeks late Chris, I'm already having a Final Fantasy summer. Started with Pixel Remaster 1 and I'm about halfway through 5 and was shooting for X by the end of summer (X being the only one I've ever played and that was when it came out). On topic, I got about 75% of the way through Persona 3 Reloaded on Game Pass a couple years ago, and then work took over my life for awhile and I fell off it. Now it seems to be off Game Pass and I haven't actually bought a single game for my Xbox (all my purchases are on PS5 or Switch), and I can't bring myself to replay that much. So I think what I can commit to is watching a Let's Play of the last 25% of 3. And then maybe I'll try to fit 4 Golden in between FF's later this summer.

I actually really needed this episode, silly as that sounds. This week, I went through a life-changing event, leaving me realizing that I have never put time into being alone with myself and finding out who I am. Today I resolved to make this a summer of trying things and connecting with people and, YES, going to the beach. I had already been journaling all the things I wanted to try and how I intended to put work into loving myself. Turning this episode on to keep me company as I settled in for the evening and hearing the premise of Persona Summer was serendipitous. Also FWIW, I only ever made it to the point in Metaphor where the game opens up for daily exploring. So I will make that my Persona game from the ol backlog that I put work into this summer.

Yay, now I have an excuse to replay Metaphor: Refantazio! Also 1:03:00 I think Persona 5 Strikers does a good job talking about devices/AI/social manipulation by the tech elite, but with the context of summer road trip. It goes on sale quite a bit! And it also *gasp* has an adult party member!

Zachary Martel

Does Fire Emblem Three Houses count for Persona Summer? I feel like it should. Maybe the universe wants me to get back to Persona. I never finished P3r because I didn't like Tartarus very much, but I did enjoy Metaphor. I have P4g and P5r both sitting in my Steam wine rack. Hmm.

Kyle Starr

Lovely episode. A nice reminder of why I love video games.

Sierra Powers

Question for the group: Would Catherine qualify for Persona Summer?

Colin Archer

Not a video game, but I want to recommend the anime Play It Cool, Guys. A group of awkward guys become friends, get to know themselves better, and yes it even has a beach trip.

GB Coffey

Chris, you didn’t say YOUR plans for a Persona Summer

Directional Joy

I know I am way late to the praise of this episode but hearing Paranoia Agent get a shout out filled me with joy, as an anime fan that has not kept up at ALL with the new stuff. Grew up on Adult Swim anime, and Paranoia Agent (RIP Satoshi) had a tone and style separate from everything else, at the time. ❤️ ✊
