Free Game of the Week: MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls open beta

This open beta runs from now until Sunday at 11:59pm PT.

I'll be real. I've never "gotten good" at a fighting game. But every couple of years, I convince myself I finally will make the time for some new fighters that looks totally sick. This year, Marvel Tokon is said game. From the Steam summary: "Assemble your team of legendary Marvel characters in the ultimate 4v4 tag team fighter." (Steam)

Great episode! I forgot that Drill Dozer was a Game Freak title. If I ever knew. I picked it up at a secondhand store in Portland in 2009 or so? An unexpectedly excellent game. And I'm very excited for Chisel. Though extremely bummed I can't afford it 😅😭 But Tune & Fairweather do excellent work. Can't wait to see the final version on social media at least 🤣

Wow, I loved the convo about Chisel--I loooove print magazines and happily signed up to be part of the 1,000 freak army. I had submitted a question about how film & game criticism are in conversation with each other, and so it's exciting to hear about a group of people who are placing games alongside other art forms and not just pop culture! Thanks for including that segment.

I do kind of wish I could buy the chisel print magazine directly without a $125 subscription. I'd even pay that much for the print zine! I just don't want another subscription.
