What is worth mentioning is that when Subaru first time take Beatrice out of library he says that he will live shorter than her but make memories about him imprinted on her, and Beatrice saying that she will always remember is callback to that and her acknowledging that Subaru managed to imprint himself to her memories

some how this is not a common opinion but to me season 4 and 3 does not have the quality of season 2 and 1 with lighting and osts (Season 2 has the best osts) maybe the art style too but even without being as good in these as before its still the best piece of fiction i have ever seen and got attatched too. Although i still wish they give us at least better osts because the few osts they have not all of them are good and they use these osts many times my heart wants something like season 2 🥲

Episode 11 is so fucking peak. They brought back both songs from season 1. They know what they're doing XD First "Styx Helix"(piano version) and then "Stay Alive".. when stay alive started playing at the end I cried too bro. That dialogue with Emilia was masterpiece. At the beginning Subaru asked Emilia for her name, and now Emilia does the same thing. Beautiful full circle moment and fucking fantastic writing. Season 4 isn't even finished airing, but It's already the best season for me.

watching these episodes again… i don’t even feel like analyzing today i feel like completely glazing this fucking show. 4x11 is a top 3 re zero episode imo. emilia getting her own rem moment here made me love her even more than i already did. having the piano version of styx helix, and later stay alive, was so peak i can’t man but quickly i’ll point out some things i noticed on this second rewatch. at 26:15, beako says “you’ve been cutting your hand again, in fact. it’s a bad habit of yours kashira”. is… is that implying subaru self harms to deal with his mental stress?? all this time i never really considered that subaru might use physical methods to relieve the constant toll on his mind, but fucking damn man. it makes me feel even worse for this poor dude also, at 19:44, beako warned emilia at one point that she’ll “blend together” if she reads meili’s book, and that subaru “dove too deep”. given his random usage of feminine pronouns, and that some of his manic dialogue afterwards was color coded blue, the implication seems to be that reading a book of the dead all the way through puts that person in your head which is FUCKED. like because he only read the first part of typhon’s story, and not until her death, that’s why he didn’t get haunted. honestly, i think your theory of gluttony subaru eating meili’s memories is more interesting, but this is cool too btw, this HAS to be gluttony doing some kind of possession bullshit, because we AAAAALL saw that evil smile at the flip of a switch. genuinely how though… idk there’s too much to solve atp. it all comes down to figuring out how and why gluttony is in the tower. and, reid coming down from his floor is a complete fucking curveball as well, because he’s supposed to be part of the trial simulation right? bro genuinely just fought julius for the love of the game 💀 and what about that fucking creature that attacked subaru, beako and eridna at the end?? i’m sure this will be obvious in hindsight but damn it also, if shaula actually knew what happened when she whispered that she understands to subaru, then she’s the only one who could’ve possibly disposed of meili’s body, seeing as ram didn’t know. interestingly, both ram and shaula were absent when subaru escaped from the ice cage, like we saw everyone else except them. maybe that mabeast looking thing ate them… or, crack theory, patrasche went insane and ate them 😭 last thing, i believe the reason satella has been able to come out so often is because she’s literally sealed away under the tower rn. ig the closer you get to her the more likely she’ll pop out. i’m surprised she just let subaru and emilia talk it out even though her miasma was clearly surrounding them… she really wanted her man to have his confidence restored 🥹 this season has genuinely been incredible so far. i wanna spam the next 5 episodes so i’m caught up but i’ll hold back. massively W episodes, and W breaktimes (i love sirius’s bullshit so i’m happy to see her). i hope next episodes we finally start to figure out what’s going on with this fucking tower

I noticed that too and you're right because I heard that in web novel Subaru started self-harming around that time when Rem killed him and he never stopped doing it. It's the only way to cope with everything that happened and keeps happening to him. Beatrice always heals his wounds afterwards.

BEST confession in fiction🔥🔥 (Sorry for the yapping) There’s only two people in the world who could pick up Subaru when he’s truly at his lowest, when he wants to give up and disappear forever: rem and Emilia. You said rem isn’t here, but never forget that we still have the goat Emilia here. And this time, Subaru didn’t even know Emilia, and yet she still gave him hope and a reason to live: love. He fell for the same girl twice❤️‍🩹 Yes, Emilia did just say that she loves Subaru. It was in a failed loop where they died, but she still said it and confirmed she does actually love him🥹 also the episode title is a title drop for the anime It might be because Emilia and Subaru are my favorite dynamic in the show, but this is my favorite re zero episode ever. Playing Styx helix piano version and stay alive (which is sung by Emilia’s voice actor) just adds to that. And all the amazing dialogue and parallels to previous seasons… it genuinely is my favorite episode. First, I want to say that your theory about the doors is actually the same theory that I think. It would make sense, and it would also mean that what’s at the end of all those doors (if you collect all the witch factors/authorities) is probably the seal of satella herself👀 And because of how much I love it, I do wanna talk about it in depth. The whole episode was amazing. At the beginning, we see how Emilia will always try to help Subaru no matter what anyone else says. Then, there are many scenes in this episode that really show how Subaru is always an amazing guy, memories or not. Instead of killing Julius, Julius entrusts Anastasia to him, and he makes sure he looks after her even when he’s breaking down crying. He then does his best to save Anastasia when the scorpion shows up. He’s always been a hero, he just can’t see it. The scene of him breaking down was also peak. It really shows everything he’s going through and how, even if he doesn’t show it, all the stress is slowly building up until he reaches a breaking point. At the end, he even starts begging for forgiveness from God because he thinks he’s being punished. And of course the voice acting is perfect as always. Now I’ve gotta talk about the climax of this cour and Emilia and Subaru’s conversation. The most beautiful thing about the whole scene is thinking about the situation Emilia is in. The tower is collapsing, Subaru has given up, everyone else is dead, and you KNOW you are also gonna die soon. And yet, knowing this, she still wants to help Subaru regain his sense of self and confidence. Even when she is dying, she wants to spend those last moments with the one she knows, and someone who knows themselves: Natsuki Subaru. Since Subaru doesn’t know what he did in this world and can’t believe what he did, what better way than to just tell him everything. Emilia saying this makes what “Natsuki Subaru” did seem more realistic and reasonable. Then, when Subaru says he doesn’t understand why it has to be him there, she acknowledges that he’s not wrong, but she wants the one she loves there to save her. This finally helps Subaru understand why he did everything for her, and why he could even do it in the first place: he loved her. And not just her, all the other amazing people in the tower. If those people who are amazing cared for Subaru so much, then “Natsuki Subaru” must have been a great guy, one who loves them all. And to help him claim his title and reaffirm himself as that person, she asks him to “tell me your name”. This is a direct callback and full circle moment to when Subaru and Emilia first met in the loot house all the way back in s1 ep 3 (there are so many callbacks this episode). Subaru asks Emilia to “tell me your name” as his reward for saving her. In fact, the CUT on Subarus head is the same in both scenes. It is truly a climax for all the character development of Emilia and her relationship with Subaru over all 4 seasons. Absolute cinema After this, Subaru wants to be that person who can save them all, just like the goat we know. His line about remembering everyone even if they forget him is EXACTLY what he said in s1 ep7 when he jumped off the cliff to save everyone in roswaal’s mansion. He is going through all that development in previous seasons now. Another call back is seeing the reflection of Subaru in Emilia’s eye, as we saw the same shot at the very end of s1 ep1, and the episode where they had their first kiss. In the novels, when Subaru and Emilia were both falling down, they were both trying to position themselves in a way where they were on the bottom to try and save the other from dying, so they ended up falling headfirst together. He is Natsuki Subaru, and no amount of memory loss or messed up situations can change that. Emilia is the goat and easily my favorite character (after Subaru), I don’t care what anyone else says🔥 I won’t lie, I cried. Peak.

That scene at the end is probably one of my favourite moments in the entire series. I love how Emilia helps Subaru when he's at his lowest and unable to believe in himself just as he supported her back then before the witches' trial. It's also sort of Emilia's version of Rem's speech from season 1. It shows how much of an impact Subaru has had on those around him and that he is definitely not useless scum as Amnesiabaru claimed. However, it's kind of sad how so far the only two times when Subaru got a "confession" out of Emilia were this episode, which despite all is still a doomed loop and that time in season 2 when Emilia went completely insane and kissed Subaru's mangled corpse. Nevertheless, this has been an amazing episode and reaction!

BEAUTIFUL COMMENT! I didn't even think about the fact that Emilia knew she was about to die, but chose to talk to Subaru at the end, masterpiece. I'm so locked in thinking in Subaru's POV that I forget that the others are actually dying, holy cinema.

Regarding Subaru's self-harm, it is a well-established fact in the novel, but the anime skipped it. I didn't read it, but I heard it from someone analyzing the episodes. If I recall it correctly, it started after the Petelgeuse arc, when Subaru now tends to self-harm, especially in stressful situations, and Betty often treats his wounds.
