R.I.P. Hange and Floch ❤️ Shinzou wo Sasageyo! 🫡 I really appreciate that you acknowledged Floch's character, dedication, and bravery. Most people hate on Floch, but I honestly think he was a great character and had one of the best character developments in the entire show. He was the only survivor of Erwin's suicide charge. He started out as this naive and terrified Scout who was basically just trying to survive, and somehow he became "the devil" himself, just like Erwin. He realized that someone had to be willing to do the dirty work and make the hard decisions if Paradis was going to survive. He dedicated his entire life to Paradis and its people. He wasn't doing it for power or because he wanted to be some big hero. He genuinely believed that what he was doing was necessary to protect his home and the people he cared about. And honestly, I think he was the true successor to Erwin. Not because he was as intelligent or capable as Erwin, but because he understood what Erwin represented — being willing to become the "devil" and sacrifice everything for the sake of humanity. Floch eventually became that person for Paradis. He knew exactly what he was fighting for, and even when he was completely alone, he never gave up. He died fighting for his beliefs and for his people until the very end. (and he would literally win If Gabi didn't have fucking aim bot installed) You don't have to agree with Floch's actions or ideology to appreciate how well his character was written. He's definitely one of my favorite characters in the entire show. 🫡 And about Hange... I don't want to sound like a hater because I really do like her character, but I have to be honest — I think she had a pretty big part in why Paradis ended up so divided and why everything turned into a conflict between two sides. Her death was fucking badass though!🥇 She went out like a true Scout and gave everyone else the time they needed. But as a Commander, I feel like she spent way too much time running away from the actual problem and just hoping things would somehow work out. She was kind of naive and kept dreaming about a peaceful solution while the situation was getting worse and worse. At the same time, it's important to remember that Hange never even wanted to be Commander in the first place. She was basically forced into that position after Erwin's death, especially because of Levi's last-minute decision to save Armin. She wasn't prepared for that responsibility, and honestly, I don't think anyone could really replace Erwin. Hange was also one of the people who wanted to bring Erwin back instead of Armin. And that makes me wonder so much about what would have happened if they had chosen my GOAT Erwin instead. I genuinely wish we could see an alternate timeline where Erwin survived. Imagine him having to deal with everything that happened after the basement. I can't stop thinking about it. 😂 It's honestly crazy that you only have one "episode" left now — the grand finale. It went by so fucking fast, and I'm really glad I got to rewatch the whole thing with you. 🫡 First it was Re Zero, and now you're about to finish AoT too.. damn😓

Yo

The best conclusion in anime history is next. I can’t believe we’re already here. Idk if I can handle both re zero and aot being gone💔 Like I’ve said, I don’t really ever cry watching shows. But, the very first time I cried watching all of aot was this episode at hange’s death (and.. it’s not the last time either). I seriously believe it’s the best death scene in the whole show. The animation, character, dialogue, and especially ost were all so perfect (seriously, that soundtrack really made the whole scene 10x more emotional, it’s so good). Then the scene afterwards with Erwin and the goat Moblit… it was just too much😭 This felt like a perfect way for hange to die: by the thing she loved most, titans. She felt like she never really did enough and always wanted to do more, and this was that final, grandiose moment she needed. I also really want to point out Levi during this moment. Like you said, hange is the only person he has left. Everybody else has died. So, finally, to the last person, he said for the very first time “give your heart”, while he has to sit back and watch because he’s too injured. Levi is such a tragic character and definitely one of my favorite characters. Another thing I want to point out that’s a common theme this episode is how everyone is finally regretting everything they’ve done. Like kiyomi (hizuru’s leader) said; people don’t know how to respect and value others before it’s too late. Like Reiner’s mom said; they didn’t love and care for their children before it was too late. Like the commander at fort salta said; they dumped all their hatred onto the island devils and never tried to stop the cycle of hatred, again, until it was too late. I love this realistic idea presented of how we truly don’t try to change until we can’t make excuses anymore. People don’t try to do the right thing until they can’t even do the wrong thing any longer. Just another example of the masterful writing🔥 I’m sure you will, but just want to make sure you know to watch and pay attention to all of the credits to the final episode too. Peak. I don’t want it to end.

hating a character has only 2 real options. either the character sucks so bad you hate it, or he has good writing and characterization and that MAKES him hateable. floch is definitely the second option lmao, hate that man to the core but cant deny he is simply a good character
