This map has been done for a while, and I've used it for my own reference, but I haven't given it to patrons. Not for any good reason, I've just been so focused on writing the next book that it slipped my mind. Well, I hope you guys will enjoy this. There's also a world map I'll post at some point.

As I mentioned in my introduction to this series, I want this to be a magic school story in which the school is actually a substantial component instead of a background detail. I hope this map will flesh things out for some readers visually, but ultimately this is the foundation for the institutions, the thrones, and the ultimate mystery.

Thanks! When you say next book, you mean for one of your non-ToT projects or is this ToT being split into books?

What is the spiraling stair?

sarahlin

ToT is more serialized than many of my other works, but still going to be divided into books. "The Endless Library" is the first collection of arcs, which will go for a while yet, and I am working on the second book, tentatively "The Unfinished War".

sarahlin

It is a twisting staircase that arcs over the campus, which some students walk on. It hasn't been particularly important yet, but Suria once tested suicide by jumping off of it.

Msharlo1

I misread that part, interpreting it as part of Skypiercer tower that she jumped off of rather than a staircase to nowhere.

2026-10-01 12:00 Things that surprised me about this map: * The Blue is apparently HUGE. I had been picturing it as like maybe a roughly 60' x 60' space that could fit a lot of people comfortably, but still feel private and like you could take in everyone in it in a glance. Like, maybe the size of an individual dormatory block? But it is apparently more like 500' x 1000'? If it isn't perfectly flat in there it seems like it might be easy for a student to be lounging in the grass on the other side of it without you noticing, so I'm surprised everyone feels comfortable needing there. * I had not imagined that there would be so many normal dormatories considering how Suria kinda just keeps staying in the big department halls. I had been imagining an alternate setup where the individual buildings were much larger and contained almost all of the student housing spaces in addition to the instruction spaces.

I knew it was large, but this is like a whole town wow

There are some other types of structures in there too, like maintenance buildings. It's a lot, but when I was looking at real world universities I noticed that even smaller ones have a ton of buildings.

I love this story, and can't wait for more chapters. Will the Patreon chapters ever be upgraded to include more advanced chapters? I have not clicked with your other works, but this one really hits the spot. Thank you for writing it.

sarahlin

The only reason I haven't offered more advanced chapters is that I want to make 100% sure I can stay ahead with the same quality. Once I get the next set of arcs in shape I'm happy with, I intend to add more.
