First of all, I hope you all had a great summer and have sufficiently recharged your batteries 😄 It's Friday and time to review last week's events!

💠 GRAND UTOPIA

🔰 Dedicated server update

A few days ago, I updated the dedicated server with version 1.16.1 of Grand Utopia, since I'd completely forgotten to do so before going on vacation. 😅 Please forgive this oversight and enjoy our beautiful utopia with your friends, or simply with other utopians.

I remind you that the server has 128 slots and is open 24/7. For more information on how to connect to the server, please consult the Q&A section of our website: Help / Q&A (grandutopia.fr )

For your information, I also continued to process VTC orders. This was mainly to complete a few large orders that had not been finished before my departure.

💠 MYGOTOPIA

🔰 Kamelot

I spent most of my week developing the small town of Kamelot, located a few kilometers north of Windfield, along the HW-2 highway.

The fact that I'm now able to work full-time on my projects has enabled me to make good progress in building this little village. Although far from finished, I was able to take several beautiful photos of this small rural commune, which I invite you to view from the gallery in this article.

💠 PERSONAL THOUGHTS

🔰 100% mapping

As I've mentioned several times since the beginning of 2024, I'm officially starting to work full-time on my various map projects. This has only been possible thanks to you and your continued support over the past few years. So I'd like to thank you again from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and loyalty.

Never did I think, when I started mapping Grand Utopia 6 years ago, that I'd ever be able to make a living from it. It's completely crazy but very real. Thank you all so much.

🔰 Schedule for the coming weeks

Just before I left on vacation, I had tried working on several mods at once on the basis of about one mod a day. It worked well for me. I found it really motivating to see all the mods being developed simultaneously, rather than working on one for several weeks and leaving the others a bit abandoned.

I'm planning to build on this momentum and work simultaneously on Grand Utopia, Mygotopia, Akokan Island, Grand Utopia of America and More American Cities.

Of course, the time spent on each mod may vary from week to week. Especially as I also need to devote time to processing your VTC orders and also to producing YouTube videos and/or live sessions via our Discord.

🔰 Long-term vision

Finally, to be as frank as possible with you, here are my long-term intentions:

• I'd like to complete the Akokan Island add-on 100% as soon as possible, to free up more time for the creation of Grand Utopia of America. For the time being, therefore, I have no plans to create a new add-on for Grand Utopia.

• My goal is to be able to offer you a first alpha version of Grand Utopia of America by the end of the year. Ideally, I'd like to create about half of Lochburn County visible below (I've also attached the GUOA roadmap):

• Obviously, I'll also be continuing the development of Grand Utopia, still with the aim of finishing the main island, but I've decided not to carry out any major new rework of existing zones, as this is actually very time-consuming, and I'd rather devote this time to expanding the utopia.

• Once the island is completed, as planned from the outset, the Mygotopia project will be annexed to GU and thus become accessible to all. My idea is to replace Mygotopia's early access with another early access (most likely that of More European Cities and/or a new GU add-on, but this is subject to change. Nothing is firmly decided).

• And lastly, the More American Cities series will continue to be developed state by state, bringing you a new edition on a regular basis.

🔰 VTC order info

I would also like to announce that, from now on, it is only possible to install your VTC on the following maps:

• Grand Utopia• Mygotopia• Europe (base map only)

It is therefore no longer possible to install VTCs on Akokan Island.For the moment, it's not possible to plan a VTC installation on Grand Utopia of America either.

💠 GRAND UTOPIA

🔰 Mise à jour du serveur dédié

Il y a quelques jours, j'ai mis à jour le serveur dédié avec la version 1.16.1 de Grand Utopia puisque j'avais complètement oublié de le faire avant de partir en congés. 😅 Pardonnez moi cet oubli et profitez dès maintenant de notre belle utopie en compagnie de vos amis, ou tout simplement avec d'autres utopiens.

Pour votre informations, j'ai également continuer le traitement des commandes VTC. Il s'agissait essentiellement d'achever quelques grosses commandes non terminées avant mon départ.

💠 MYGOTOPIA

🔰 Kamelot

J'ai consacré le gros de ma semaine au développement de la petite ville de Kamelot, située à quelques kilomètres au nord de Windfield, le long de l'autoroute HW-2.

Le fait de pouvoir désormais travailler à temps plein sur mes projets a permis d'effectuer une belle avancée dans la construction de ce petit village. Bien que loin d'être terminé, j'ai pu prendre plusieurs belles photos de cette petite commune rurale et je vous invite à les consulter depuis la galerie de cet article.

💠 PENSÉES PERSONNELLES

🔰 Mapping à 100 %

Comme évoqué plusieurs fois depuis le début de cette année 2024, je commence officiellement à travailler à temps plein sur mes différents projets de maps. Cela n'a été possible qu'uniquement grâce à vous et à votre soutien continu depuis plusieurs années déjà. Je tenais donc encore à vous remercier du fond du coeur pour votre générosité et votre loyauté.

Jamais je n'aurais pensé, quand j'ai commencé à mapper Grand Utopia il y a 6 ans de cela, que je pourrai en vivre un jour. C'est complètement fou mais bien réel. Merci à tous.

🔰 Programme des prochaines semaines

Un peu avant de partir à en vacances, j'avais testé de travailler sur plusieurs mods à la fois sur une base d'environ un mod par jour. De mon côté, cela a bien fonctionné. J'ai trouvé cela super motivant de voir l'ensemble des mods se développer simultanément, plutôt que de travailler plusieurs semaines sur l'un en laissant un peu à l'abandon les autres.

Je compte donc continuer sur cette lancée et ainsi travailler simultanément sur Grand Utopia, Mygotopia, Akokan Island, Grand Utopia of America et More American Cities.

Bien entendu, le temps passé sur chaque mod pourra être plus ou moins important d'une semaine à l'autre. D'autant qu'il faut également que je consacre du temps au traitement de vos commandes VTC et également à la réalisation de vidéos YouTube et/ou de sessions en direct via notre Discord.

🔰 Vision à long terme

Enfin, pour être le plus franc possible avec vous, voici mes intentions à long terme :

• Je souhaite terminer l'add-on Akokan Island à 100 % dès que possible afin de libérer davantage de temps pour la création de Grand Utopia of America. Pour l'instant, je ne prévois donc pas la création d'un nouvel add-on pour Grand Utopia.

• Mon objectif est de pouvoir vous proposer une première version alpha de Grand Utopia of America d'ici la fin de l'année. Idéalement, j'aimerai créer environ la moitié du comté de Lochburn visible ci-dessous (je vous mets également en pièce jointe la roadmap de GUOA) :

• Bien évidemment, je continuerai également le développement de Grand Utopia, toujours dans l'objectif de finir l'île principale mais j'ai décidé de ne plus opérer d'importante phases de rework des zones existantes car cela est en réalité très chronophage et je préfère consacrer ce temps là à l'expansion de l'utopie.

• Une fois l'île terminée, comme prévu depuis le début, le projet Mygotopia sera annexé à GU et deviendra donc accessible par tous. Mon idée étant de remplacer à ce moment là l'accès anticipé de Mygotopia par un autre accès anticipé (très probablement celui de More European Cities et/ou d'un nouvel add-on pour GU mais cela est susceptible de changer. Rien n'est fermement décidé).

• Pour finir, concernant la série More American Cities, elle continuera d'être développée état par état pour vous proposer une nouvelle édition de façon régulière.

🔰 Infos commandes VTC

Je souhaitais également vous annoncer que, désormais, il n'est possible d'installer vos VTC que sur les maps suivantes :

• Grand Utopia• Mygotopia• Europe (base map uniquement)

Il n'est donc plus possible d'installer de VTC sur Akokan Island.Pour le moment, il n'est pas non plus possible de prévoir une installation de VTC sur Grand Utopia of America.
