Dear utopians,

Sorry to bother you again with a post today, but I'd like to take this opportunity to get your thoughts on Patreon. How attached are you to this platform? And above all, would you be willing to follow me if I decided to migrate to a new platform for my store and subscriptions?

Désolé de vous déranger à nouveau avec un post aujourd'hui, mais je souhaiterais profiter de l'occasion pour connaître votre ressenti sur Patreon. À quel point êtes-vous attaché à cette plateforme ? Et surtout, seriez-vous prêt à me suivre si je décidais de migrer vers une nouvelle plateforme pour ma boutique et mes abonnements ?

Happy to change if needed. Bottom line if ScS added the More element in as a DLC I'd buy it. They don't so hence I've bought these. There's parts of the map you would genuinely have no reason to go to without these & in the other cases for the ones you do - I'm driving through there; why can't I deliver a load?

Honestly Patreon is easiest for me and to the General public if they have not subbed to the mod before, I have many payment options I can use here too. I also have had issues before when I used somebody's private site with security concerns when their site was breached.

I'm okay with moving but I hope there is a mechanism to honor our purchases from here. I have bought every MAC and use them in each update. They are the best.

Bonjour pas d'attachement particulier a une plateforme temps qu'il y a une boutique ou l'ont peut achetez sans avoir a payer un abonnement mensuel ;) car un abonnement mensuel c'est un peut forcé la main au gens de mon point personnel bien entendus. Et si le contenue nous plais pas j'aime être libre de payer ce que je veut et ce que j'aime.

Sure no problem do what ever you feel to do. Sad point is as long internet is here there will always be one who buy it and put it online. Emmn had this to but it seems we have stopped it. Reforma same issue all other paid mods also. This is something i think you can not prevent sadly

Pour ma part je n'aime pas le system Patreon. ( j'aime assez Gumroad ou le systeme qu'utilise le moddeur "Zeemods". ). En tout cas bonne continuation...

entirely false, his mods still get leaked if you know where to look. Not to mention the producers of mod-guard are 90% of the problem with leaking files that are not mod-guard protected. Reason is, without leaks who needs protection, what better way to sell your service, and since they are the ones leaking, once you pay the fee, the leaks stop. Think of it as like dealing with the mob and paying a protection fee.

I never said I like the idea, it's just the only thing i found about people trying to get around such problems. I personally think "Mods" for games should never cost money, that's not the purpose of mods and never was. I still come from a time when playing games with mods was free. Before the gaming industry stsrted taking money from us for every little piece of stuff that was previously free. The big ones started doing that after BF2. I had a download website back then, in times of Quake 3 etc. and I had hundreds of maps and mods, and all was free. At some point people maklng mods became as greedy as the developers / publishers of the games, they also now saw making of a mod as a job, and not as it was before, as something they "wanted" to make because they liked doing it. Now they want to be payed. Times have gone to shit since... i am glad there are still many that make it for free. Because they like to do it, not because they are looking for a way to monetize what they previously made for free.

I respect this guys work, and his decision to charge for it. But he also has to understand that in some countries once a user purchases said mod, they have every right to distribute or resell it themselves. Also in some countries the releasing of the mod and charging for it is technically considered piracy unless you have the express written permission from SCS to use and modify their own intellectual property for profits. It's a really odd legal system when dealing with a world wide audience and customers. For me personally, if he goes the route of mod-guard or something like that, Im gone. I mainly play when I am taking my rest periods in the back of my cab either from my laptop or my steam deck. The steam deck will not allow the installation of mod-guard, modfy, whatever so Im out there, the laptop would work to install but unless I have wifi access where I park to rest, Im not using my cell phone to create a hot spot just to authorize this mod to work. Just not worth my time or effort, I will continue to use my older outdated un-guarded version until I cant use it anymore.

Yes I agree, you are absolutely right. Selling things that technically include assets of other peoples properly, which SCS has on these assets, is not really legal to do. Sure, most Modders do that at some point, and most game developers dont care much. the bigger ones sure do, SCS is smaller and so far very forthcoming when it comes to that. But now using a Software like Mod Guard, or similiar, to enforce people can only use it when they paid for the original, without really considering that all those mods are built on assets you use from someone elses properly (in every right), is kinda fucked up. SCS could technically sue someone for that, just because they didnt agree for having someone make money of it. And it's not that a Modder these days does not know that these things can happen. So far SCS let's things slide, but if they would find out more about Systems likr this, this could fuck up the whole modding scene. Because of people that had the need to make money of them, and even enforce that with certificates that you technically can not really give out, because the main assets in the mods are based on someone else retail work. Game Mods were never ment to make money, that's not what it was about. And most people are at least so nice and know that, and accept that. I have been with Mods for game since the days of Quake, over 20 years ago. And only after the developers of games at some point started to let people pay for every little bit people to that point could make themselves, and since humans are essentially mostls gteedy people, at some point gamers thought the can do the same. Fuxk fun gaming, hete comes the capitalizm.

There are some countries under sanctions where payment via PayPal is not possible. If it is possible to consider alternative payment methods, it would be very good.

Pas d'attachement, pourvu que ça te permette de faire ton travail et la distribution de celui ci plus tranquille et sécurisée. Le boulot effectué jusqu'à présent est grandiose et je ne comprends pas ceux qui ont envoyé les liens par ailleurs sans respect pour le travail fourni. Bon courage
