📜#22 — Grand Utopia of America (v1.1) is officially available! (Patreon)

Dear Utopians,

The wait is over! A brand new version of GUOA has arrived, accompanied by the release of GUOA – Base Map Connection v1.0 and GUOA – Esterlon Map Connection v1.0 (which will be officially published once Trucky has given his final approval).

These releases are much more than just a technical update. They mark the end of a long, demanding, and sometimes challenging work cycle that began several months ago with a clear ambition: to lay a solid, consistent, and sustainable foundation for the future of GUOA. 🤠

Grand Utopia of America — A map that breaks new ground

Version 1.1 of GUOA represents a significant step forward in the construction of this universe. New cities, new environments, new roads, but above all, an increase in the overall consistency of the map, both visually and structurally.

Each area added or reworked has been designed to reinforce the unique identity of Grand Utopia of America, with constant attention paid to immersion, scale, traffic flow, and the credibility of the landscapes. The goal has never been to “fill” a map, but to give it meaning, rhythm, and a real personality, like a territory that has truly evolved over time.

Version 1.1 also marks an important milestone in the development of GUOA's lore and documentation. The wiki now plays a central role in the project: cities, counties, infrastructure, characters, companies, historical events... each element of the map is gradually becoming part of a coherent whole, designed to be read, understood, and explored beyond simple gameplay.

GUOA is therefore no longer just a playable map, but a structured universe with its own landmarks, history, and codes, designed to evolve over the long term. This narrative dimension enhances immersion and lays a solid foundation for future expansions, whether cartographic, community-based, or related to VTCs and RP projects.

Finally, version 1.1 is also the result of a huge amount of invisible work: optimization, corrections, harmonization of assets, adjustments to details, and reworking of certain areas to ensure a sound and sustainable foundation. It is this groundwork, often discreet but essential, that now allows Grand Utopia of America to confidently move forward with its development.

Base Map Connection — The utopia is now connected to the ATS base map

With the release of the add-on GUOA – Base Map Connection, Grand Utopia of America has reached a major symbolic and technical milestone: GUOA can now be connected directly to the American Truck Simulator base map!

This connection allows GUOA to be integrated into a larger whole, consistent with the scale of the game, and opens up new possibilities for progression, continuity, and gameplay. It is an essential foundation for the future of the project, designed to evolve seamlessly with future versions of the game and future expansions.

Esterlon Map Connection — An opening to new fictional lands!

The add-on GUOA – Esterlon Map Connection is also ready!

⚠️ Please note: this connection is currently awaiting validation by Trucky. It will be announced as officially available as soon as this step has been completed.

This add-on is designed to be open and compatible, allowing GUOA to interact with other map universes. You can download the Esterlon map for free from TruckyMods.

A word about the 2025 retrospective

This morning also saw the publication of the 2025 retrospective, which looks back in detail at the past year, the choices made, the progress of projects, and the road traveled.

A detailed report on contributions for 2025 has also been made available to paying subscribers, in order to provide complete transparency on the support received and its concrete impact on project development.

These publications complement this announcement and provide a better understanding of the scope of the work accomplished throughout the year.

Ces sorties marquent bien plus qu’une simple mise à jour technique. Elles viennent clôturer un cycle de travail long, exigeant et parfois éprouvant, entamé il y a plusieurs mois, avec une ambition claire : poser des bases solides, cohérentes et durables pour l’avenir de GUOA 🤠

Grand Utopia of America — Une carte qui franchit un cap

La version 1.1 de Grand Utopia of America représente une avancée majeure dans la construction de cet univers. Nouvelles villes, nouveaux environnements, nouvelles routes, mais surtout une montée en cohérence globale de la carte, tant sur le plan visuel que structurel.

Chaque zone ajoutée ou retravaillée a été pensée pour renforcer l’identité propre de Grand Utopia of America, avec une attention constante portée à l’immersion, aux échelles, aux flux routiers et à la crédibilité des paysages. L’objectif n’a jamais été de « remplir » une carte, mais de lui donner du sens, du rythme et une vraie personnalité, comme un territoire qui aurait réellement évolué au fil du temps.

Cette version 1.1 marque également une étape importante dans le développement du lore et de la documentation autour de GUOA. Le wiki prend désormais une place centrale dans le projet : villes, comtés, infrastructures, personnages, entreprises, événements historiques… chaque élément de la carte s’inscrit progressivement dans un ensemble cohérent, pensé pour être lu, compris et exploré au-delà du simple gameplay.

GUOA n’est donc plus seulement une carte jouable, mais un univers structuré, avec ses repères, son histoire et ses codes, destiné à évoluer sur le long terme. Ce matin a également été publiée la rétrospective 2025, qui revient en détail sur l’année écoulée, les choix effectués, les évolutions des projets et le chemin parcouru.

Un rapport détaillé sur les contributions 2025 a aussi été mis à disposition, réservé aux abonnés payants, afin d’offrir une transparence complète sur le soutien reçu et son impact concret sur le développement des projets.

Ces publications viennent compléter cette annonce et permettent de mieux mesurer l’ampleur du travail accompli sur l’ensemble de l’année.
