There's nothing much to say about Joer Mormont, the show and books do not cover is back-story much. We do know he was Lord of Bear Island, he was called the Old Bear. He willingly decided to give up his title to join the Nights Watch., before Robert's rebellion. Passed down his family sword, lands and titles to Jorah.

The Witch gave Dany the key bit of information she needed, that only death pays for life. This is such a great finale. I teared up when Rob was declared king and John rode north of the wall with Commander Mormont. And when Dany rose from the ashes with her Dragons I fell completely in love with her and wished I could be there and serve her like Jorah. The girl from Harry Potter you refer to is called Osha here. It's cute you keep calling her by her Harry Potter name lol. I agree that Jamie is a really interesting character and I want more from him and Tywin. Great reaction as always, can't wait to get into season 2 with you. Robert began the rebellion and Ned joined him. The only female character I love more than Dany is Buffy and I so hope one day you'll watch her show because you will fall in love with her and many other characters in the Buffyverse

Ser Ilyn Payne was Captain of tbe Guard for Lord Tywin, when Tywin was Hand of the King for Aerys Targaryen (the Mad King).. Aerys had has tongue cut off when he overheard Ilyn say that Tywin was the real ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. He became the Royal Executioner under Robert. Known as 'The King's Justice'

"That made up for the last episodes" . Truer words have never been spoken. You are the beginning of one of the best TV journeys ever, and as good as this was, it gets so much better. I think of season 1 as foundational, you learn all the people and all the houses, much of the lore, the lay of the land. After this it gets more action, more drama,. more special effects (bigger budget). Enjoy!

Did Trevor eventually crack the mystery of the door? You are very on point with all of your thoughts. It's really enjoyable to watch you figure it out tea by tea. My favorite seasons are 3 and 4, but most of them are great really and season 1 is by far not the best one, so do plan for many more reactions to the episodes still to come.

seasons 1-4 are peak! 2 is my personal favorite but I think that's slightly less popular than 1,3,4. So excited for you to watch season 2 though

Great pickup on the pyre scene with Daenerys. Something the show doesn't really deliver compared to the books, is that Dany had dreams about her dragons. The show tried to indicate it a little, when she stared at her eggs. The books often describe what the point of view characters are thinking. Another commentor said: "The Witch gave Dany the key bit of information she needed, that only death pays for life." That is perhaps true and the house words of the Targaryens are "Fire and Blood". That all checks out, but the fanbase is discussing to this day how it all works. So feel free to share your own theories. Favorite seasons? 4 > 3 > 1 > 2.

Regarding Pycelle (the old faker,) when you get to season 3, you should watch the deleted scene with him. Don't watch it until S3 begins to avoid spoilers but when you get there just search Youtube for "Pycelle deleted scene," it's only like 2 minutes long and it helps characterize multiple people.

Maybe her baby would have died either way and maybe Khal Drogo as well. But lets talk about the dumbness for a second- Khal Drogo leads a raid on this woman's village, many are slain and the rest taken as slaves, the woman is raped multiple times. After saving her from further rape Khaleesi expects the woman to just treat her husband's wounds? The man who led the raid on her village. So much dumbness on Drogo and Dany's part. I understand why Dany kills her but I also think the witch was completely justified in her actions. If I was her I would have merk'd Drogo too. Not the baby though. And you are correct Tyrion survived his first battle- not war. A war is essentially made up of many battles. Until Robb and Tywin are done fighting every battle fought between them will be part of this same war. The face you made when you saw the baby dragons is 100% what I was expecting and its exactly what I'm here for. Your excitement is infectious. And since you ask I will tell you my favorite season is probably season 4 but season 1 is a close second. I think sadly this show wrote the book on how to 'tank in quality' but many people (like my mom) have no issue with the later seasons. So I guess we'll find out which camp you are in soon enough. I won't be a negative nancy when we get to the seasons I don't like but when it's finished I'll probably write a very long comment telling you exactly how I feel about some of the showrunners' decisions.
