Book recommendation, Dies the Fire, by S.M.Sterling. it's kinda like GoT lite meets the apocalypse

C. Moore

If someone felt this way about me, I’d want to know. So I’m letting you know. All the way back in September, I was watching your 2x1 & 2x2 GOT reaction. You were reacting to the scene quoted below, and you clocked the maester advising Davos that Stannis is surrounded by people whispering in his ear that he’s king and he can win the war. “Loyal service means telling hard truths. He’s surrounded by fools and fanatics, but he trusts you, Davos. If you tell him the truth —” — “What’s the truth?” (Davos) While watching this, it hit me that this is the origin of the line “Loyal service means telling hard truths” that Davos would later say to Stannis. I realized that I had never paid any attention to this scene and how BRILLIANTLY it establishes the foundation and roots of those three characters [Davos, Melisandre, Stannis]. What sets you apart from other reactors, for me, are your thoughtfulness and the details you notice that others don’t. No other reactor I’ve seen has considered Davos’ perspective at all in that scene, let alone noted the importance of it. I myself never realized that this maester must have been a mentor and close friend to Davos, and this conversation stayed with him throughout his character arc. You clocking that moment, however insignificant it was to you in the moment, it gave me an even deeper appreciation for this show that I love so much. And I know I’m not alone in feeling that way when I watch your reactions. Congratulations on finishing GOT, I hope you enjoyed the journey as much as all of enjoyed watching your experience throughout <3

I like your attitude towards the last two seasons. It really was two series in that regard. I think you will love the books. There are so many wonderful characters and stories that didn’t make the series or were combined into “new” characters. Look forward to the vlogs. It’s been great seeing this series anew through your eyes. Your reactions were always “S” tier.

Mike Smith

7 and 8 wend past the current timing in the books. The real writer is giving it a different ending that’s been years in the making

WanderingBecauseLostLol

Top favorite character of the show she meant to click Pod btw and misclicked Theon then had to improv her reasoning but we all know Pod was the best boy 😂

My_Cousin_Mose

Little Theon! I can't wait for you to get inside his head. Same with Cersei. And Arya! All of them!

Flexorcist

Hear me out: I am convinced that Bran is the ultimate villain in the show, he orchestrated Dany’s madness. In this way he knew he will be the king and thats for the best in his mind

AV

It's been so much fun going through GoT again and watching your reactions. Thanks so much for the great vids! 💛

Licha Reacts!

This is sooo sweet! Thank you so much! I'm so happy you were here to experience the journey with me and I'm super excited to move forward with the GoT world! I appreciate all of you! ♡♡

joe gibson

yup. i can't wait for the reaction to Cersei's chapters in AFFC.

Jr

Such a fun trip rewatching GOT with your reactions. I love that you ranked the characters. I absolutely love that Cersei made #2. I echo what you said: Cersei made the show. Can’t wait to watch HOTD with you.

Funkystar

I think it’s safe to say that licha will absolutely love Tyrion in the books😭😭😆 based what she wishes he was like in the show😁

Mobius

Before watching GOT, I believed people never change. Now I believe they change only when they lose some body part, like Theon and Jaime.

Jordan Clark

The fact that it was extremely rushed is more of an issue than the actual outcome of what happened although I hope for a different one with the books. But it for sure needed to be flushed out more

Jordan Clark

There’s a book series called Memory, Sorrow and Thorn it’s a 3 book series the last book is split in two in some publications but the first book is called The Dragonbone Chair and GRR Martin was inspired by that series to write a song of ice and fire. Although I haven’t read them yet I plan on it. I’ve heard awesome things about it so I would say check that out for sure

Funkystar

Ned stark is such a good man🥹 influence echoing over the whole series that’s how you know what kind of man he was🙏🏾 to be able to keep world biggest secrets just to protect your beloved sisters son🥹 he chose family over honor twice and the second one cost him his life. True definition of a great man and honorable to his last moment!

Pablo Vaquera

First off thank you so much for allowing us to follow you through this journey. Greatly appreciated your videos and I look forward to the book vlogs🙏… I also don’t completely hate what they did with Dany, I just hate that they put us through so much with both Dany and Jon throughout their journeys just to give us no payoff for either in the end. Instead we get Bran the broken 🤦‍♂️. The worst part is that’s not even Bran anymore! At least that’s what they told us. It’s King Three Eyed Raven lol 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Whatever, still one of my favorite shows of all time. Glad we got to share it with you 👍

Funkystar

Very well said!! She is the most intelligent and satisfying GOT reactor I’ve seen and I’ve watched almost every one i can find. You never feel like you wasted your time watching her react to game of thrones and that’s the biggest compliment i can give🥰🤩

Brandon Morris

I don't think there's too much that really comes close to game of thrones, Andor is maybe one of the few things that I think almost gets there, but it's only 2 seasons so it's no where near as deep.

logan wojtal

What you mean what about BB/BCS and Vikings

logan wojtal

I wouldn’t say he orchestrated it more like he knew what was coming cause he is the Three Eyed Raven.

Flexorcist

In my mind, he had a choice and aggressively asked Sam to tell Jon. Then for some reason, when the Stark kids were meeting he just blurted its your choice..got me thinking, why does he always say Jon has to know? In the grand scheme of things against the Night King it doesn’t matter, unless its for another purpose.. that boy a villain

Brandon Morris

Vikings is good, but I don't think it compares to GOT or Andor. Breaking Bad just isn't the type of TV I enjoy, gave it two seasons, had no interest.

FeralKitty

To be honest, there's no show that comes close to GoT in the fantasy genre. The show became a fanfic as early as season 5. The first 4 seasons adapt the first 3 books (AGOT, ACOK and ASOS). There are changes, some of them pretty significant, both in the plot and in the portrayal of characters, which dramatically changes your perception of them in some cases (looking at you Tyrion and Jorah), but it's still mostly the same story. Books 4 (AFFC) and 5 (ADWD), however, were barely adapted in the show. Some of the major events from them still happen in the show, but the circumstances leading up to them are vastly different, and some characters' stories completely diverge from the books by that point (e.g. Sansa). I'm really excited to see your reactions to the books because they're great. My recommendation is to discuss no more than a few chapters per video (3-5), though. Keep it more focused so that you don't lose the depth. These books are so thematically rich and every character is written in a way that makes them really human. You can understand their motivations and why they act and think the way they do. Also, beware the POV trap when analysing the books - be mindful of what the characters know and what they don't, and of their different biases and backgrounds when forming your opinions on them.

Malik Chapman

Battlestar Galactica is the show that comes closest, but nobody ever talks about it lol

My_Cousin_Mose

"Do you guys hate when I yap?" Nope I pay money for it lol.

Fyre SPell

I know some book readers didn't like The Wheel of Time because it does change things from the books, however, I loved it. I was able to see it as a different turning of the wheel of time. Totally fantasy with magic and such. The book series is 14 books long but the show only does 3 seasons. I totally recommend watching the show (on Prime) before you read the books.

Abigail Buck

You will definitely compare other shows and nothing matches it.

My_Cousin_Mose

Your reaction to Shae and the trial scene is so funny. You are probably correct and she didn't have a choice. But still- she sucks! Bummer that this ends the GoT journey on the channel. These reactions have been absolutely top tier and I'm sure I will watch these again one day.

My_Cousin_Mose

R+L=J is still only a theory for the books. George didn't actually confirm the showrunners' guess. Maybe they were right and maybe not.

Karina

Ned stark is the best character. Keeping a secret to protect his nephew is honorable. What in the hell are you talking about. And little finger in the throne?.. what in the f. You are just a hater of the good characters and like evil ppl… you got issues

Joey Largehands

The fact Dany (& Jon) are so low down tells you everything about how poorly the books are adapted.
